Fantastic
I booked this holiday as a last minute deal! This was my first time to Ibiza and I was concerned slightly about the reputation of the island. To my surprise playa d'en bossa was a lovely area to stay. Majority of the hotels/apartments that line the sea front of playa d'en bossa are owned by the Fiesta chain. All of which are rated 3* plus. The Club Don Toni is an excellent hotel and would be an excellent place for families. A good selection of food was provided for both breakfast and dinner. Be aware on arrival, you can purchase wrist bands to make drinks all inclusive or food all inclusive. I would highly recommend this if you are planning to stay with-in the complex most of the day as the drinks were relatively expensive. Although one of Ibiza's largest clubs is situated in Playa D'en Bossa I was not made aware/see any trouble whilst I was there. Avoid the bars near to the club however as these are extremely expensive! The famous Bora Bora bar is also situated in Playa D'en Bossa and for 2 non alcoholic drinks setting me back almost £10 during the day it's certainly a place that I wouldn't visit again! If you like walking you can attempt to walk to Ibiza town. There are two routes (costal/or through the different towns/villages). The costal walk was quite difficult in parts and certainly wouldn't be advisable in the height of summer! Trust me! The costal route took approximately 1h30mins with several "breaks" along the way! A taxi back was essential! :-) There are also buses that run regularly to Ibiza town and I would advise you to visit here if you want to purchase duty free goods as they are quite a lot cheaper! I would definitely return to playa d'en bossa and would stay at any of the Fiesta hotels. I would avoid some of the self catering/apartments in the town as these are full of groups of youngsters if that's not your cup of tea!!
Club DOn TOni
Myself and my husband stayed at the Hotel Don Toni in September 2005. We absolutely loved it. The food was excellent and the accomodation within the club don toni was very nice, we had a view over the pool and also the beach. Although this is classed as a Thomson Family hotel we have no children and found it fine, it was mainly couples who were staying at this time of year. One of the other benefits of staying in a Fiesta hotel is that if you shoose you can dine in any one of the other hotels within Ibiza. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would choose to stay here again.
Had a good time at the club Don Toni
As other reviews, hotel is friendly, and very clean. Entertainment is ok - all staff try very hard day and night but it just lacks that extra 'something' just depends what your used to!. We upgraded to 'all inclusive' which was worth it cos we had 2 teenage boys age 17 so they could feed themselves when ever they were ready without waiting for us but day snacks was very limted to hamburger, hot dog and very dry cheese toasty. Food in the restaurant was plentiful-you could have steaks/chicken/spag bol/omelette's freshly cooked/together with salads and a various selection of cooked dishes. Pool bar left a lot to be desired (needed a refurb). Our room (317) was right above the outside stage so was quite noisy at night but then again we were always outside till 12 so that didn't bother us. The airport is so close that there is alot of aircraft noise but you do get used to it!!! If there are any late arrivals you do hear them coming up the stairs/lift dragging their suitcases along the corridor - so ear plugs are advised if your a light sleeper. Sun Loungers - there are alot of them but alot were broken as were the parasols but you can put your towels on anytime of the night/morning so when the planes wake you, you may as well bag your sunbeds!!!!!!!!!. Playa den bossa itself is not very nice - full of clubbers and a bit scruffy so if your looking for nice bars and restaurants - its not for you. All in all we had a good time but won't be going back - there are a lot nicer places to stay
one word - fantastic
i stayed here in july for a week and loved it so much wen i got home i booked it for 2 weeks next year, what can i say the food was fantastic its a half board hotel but when you get to the hotel you have the option to upgrade to all inclusive or just have a drinks package, the staff are all friendly especially antonio on the front desk he is a dimond, i work for thomson travel agents and was massivley impressed and cant help but shout about the fantasic time i had at this hotel situated directly on the beach, if your still up in the early hours of the morning get yourself onto nthe best beach on the hole island of playa deb bossa the sun rise is breath taking so no need for a taxi ride to san an. your rite near all the shops bars and resturants with space night club 2 mins down the road but dont worry you dont even notice it, and for the clubbers and party people get yourself to gabi and top twenty one or as we say TT1's, for families there is the waterpark about 15 mins away not even that and activites goin on at the hotel, great for families, groups, couples young and old, basically something for everyone. overall fantastic holiday couldnt fault one thing and cat wait to go back.
Great fun for Kids
My husband and I have just returned from a week's holiday here. We took our 2 grandchildren ages 13 and 10. Whilst we relaxed by the pool they made many friends and had a great time. The food was excellant, such a lot of choice. We upgraded to all inclusive drinks which cost the 4 of us 298 Euros which I thought was good value . The animation team did an excellant job and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the shows in the evening. I did find that walking round the shops and bars in the evening a bit daunting as obviously it is made for the younger generation and they seem to be hanging around everywhere, either lying on the pavements, dancing in the streets or stood around with drinks in thier hands. But I suppose it's a sign of getting old that I found it like this. I have read on other reviews that the all inclusive finishes at midday on the day you leave, but that is untrue as I challenged this and I was told that we could use the all inclusive up until the beginning of the 8th day. All together it was a nice change and would recommend it to anyone with children
club don toni excellent, clean and friendly, going back next year.
just come back. trying to book for next year. had a great time. our little girl aged 9 loved it, lots of entertainment for her day and night. rooms cleaned every day, as was the pool. also pool water tested every day, one day closed for 2 hours as was not enough chlorine in water. very hygienic. went all inclusive, well worth it. resteraunt food excellent lots too choose from ( too much choice!!). gained a few pounds reception staff friendly, entertainment staff excellent especially Paco, Vanessa, Ray, Barbara and Rafa. had shows every night except sunday, needed a quite night, could not fault don toni club. went into resort on sunday evening, did not like it, too many young drunk people, night club SPACE in centre, however went into town during daytime, much nicer. water park excellent. so hopefully we will book for next year.
Great Hotel
We have been to Don Toni 4 times firstly when kids were 6 and seven and then last time on our own (kids now 20 and 21). What can I say food great, all inclusive drinks great, staff great, location great (hubby plane spotter!!!), rooms great (especially since air con put in), entertainment great, pools great We have found whether you are 9months or 90 years there is something for everyone. Sport, quizzes, games night and day or just read a book or 4 We like this hotel so much we're going again this year
Very good hotel for the price
The Fiesta Club Toni is situated in an ideal location, The beach outside is very quiet, with a few sunloungers (most were not taken up), and for those that want a more lively area, Bora Bora Beach Club can be found a few minutes up the beach (sunloungers cost approximately 6euros). Ibiza Town can be reached by walking along the beach (about 20/30 minutes away), by a short taxi ride (approximately 10euros) or by bus (2.50 euros). San Antonia is also within a short distance (by bus is takes about 40minutes, 1 bus to Ibiza Town then change to go to San Antonia, a taxi is about 20euros). We did not go to any of the big clubs, although Space is located very close to the Club Toni. The hotel pool was nice, although the sunloungers went pretty early, as expected. The staff fun a number of activities during the day, such as aqua aerobics which are very popular. The room and balcony were very nice and were cleaned everyday. The selection of food available was very good for what you would expect of a 3* hotel. If we were looking to go back to Playa Den Bossa, I would definately consider going back to this hotel.
Alright, but nothing to write home about
We have just returned from a week at Club Don Toni. As with all fiesta hotels the public areas are spotless and are always being cleaned, the rooms however are some what different. 1) Maid service was infrequent 2) Decor in the room was shabby and the paint job was horrendous 3) The front door decided when it was going to lock/unlock regardless if the key was in the lock. The hotel need some money spent on it, the hot water broke twice, the chlorine machine also broke on several occasions. We went back to Playa D'en Bossa following a trip the previous year to 'Fiesta Bahamas' next door, whilst the entertainment is the same in all of these hotels the Bahamas concentrated on the kids whilst Club Don Toni made a token effort. Nothing wrong with the resort, planes do not interfere but you may wish to choose an alternative hotel.
Nice hotel...very lively
The hotel is a 5 minute transfer from the airport, so it's pretty obvious there's a LOT of aircraft noise. It seemed as though the flight path was right over the hotel pool area, and there were a lot of planes as well, though there were fewer at night. So please expect aircraft noise if you stay here ! The room was large and well kitted out. Very clean and with a balcony overlooking the pool. Unfortunatelyt we were right above the outdoors stage area, and there was no chance of an early night ! This hotel is definitely geared up for families. We dont have children ourselves but the 2 couples we met out there, had 4 children between them, and they were always being kept busy by the childrens clubs, and daytimes activities. The pool is a fair size, but once again...be prepared to get up early to do the towel on the sunbeds thing to get a good position. The hotel is set right on the beach, so there's easy access to it. The restaurant is all buffet style, and the food is quite average, but there are plenty of restaurants and bars within a short walk, so for a better meal, have a small wander to the town. One of the biggest nightclubs on the island, Space, is literally accross the road, so expect some noise from here, but we found it a very noisy resort anyway, so you kind of get used to it. If you want a relaxing holiday, with peace and quiet...do NOT go to this hotel. But if you've got kids, and don't mind putting up with a lot of noise, this is the place for you. As i said, it's a lively resort, with a lot of noise from planes, nightclubs and screaming kids, but it's ideal for families with young kids. We wont be going back there...until we have kids to take !
