Hotel Description:

It takes a good team to keep a busy hotel permanently at its peak and the Panorama's owners, the Marina Hotels Group, are among the very best.
The Marina Panorama is ideal for Thomson Gold with a great location in this picturesque resort.

" Exceptionally pleasant, a real holiday "

We are from Western Australia, and on our last trip to the UK decided to go with our friends to Ibiza. We left the booking up to our friends, and they came out TOPS. Stayed at Marina Panorama, Es Cana. It was superb, we had a wonderful holliday. The whole Hotel experience was A1 - from accomodation through to staff, food, entertainment etc., No complaints at all as far as food, well cooked, great selections. One of our friends is a very fussy eater, but her was well provided for and satisfied. enjoyed all the Entertainment, as ex. Butlin Redcoats it got our seal of approval, all the Staff were helpful and friendly. Es Cana we loved, and as we had hired a car we saw the whole Island pf Ibiza, aqnd gave it a 5 star rating. We certainly hope to get back one day.
Thank You for memorable time.

Advice: Well worth a visit, especially if you like to not just sit on the beach but explore your surroundigs

Activities: Liked all the places we ate at, no favourites, loved the shopping - enjoyed the Hippy Markets

" Brilliant holiday "

We have just had a fantastic week at The Marina Panorama THANK YOU THOMPSON HOLIDAYS.From getting on the plane to coming home the Thompson team took care of everything for us, absolutely fantastic.
We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the harbour with brilliant views across the sea. There was bottled water in the room when we arrived along with tea, coffee etc and even shampoo, bubble bath etc.
The staff were BRILLIANT.... all of them. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all friendly and chatty all the time.
The food was out of this world, the Gala night was amazing, we had lobster, prawns,I just couldn't list it all....it was truly fantastic. We were very impressed with the choice you were offered in the restaurant at other meal times especially breakfast. There was English bacon, sausage and a mountain of other choices, you would be hard pushed to find fault with any of it at all. We especially liked the Happy Hour local drinks were BOGOF by the pool and in the Cafe bar.
The entertainment both during the day and in the evening time was good especially from the Thompson team who constantly worked their socks off the whole time to keep the holiday makers happy and even performed on stage themselves, which was in fact very good.
We did try to get a sun lounger the day after we arrived but found that at 8am they were all taken. We were told that you were not allowed to reserve sun loungers around the pool, but everyone seemed to be doing this and to be able to guarantee you got one you needed to be there at 7am with your towels. We went to the beach on a couple of occasions which cost 12 euros for 2 sun loungers and a parasol for day!!
We were sorry to be leaving and we are already planning to go back next August, this time for longer. Well done again Thompson Holidays FANTASTIC!!!!!

Advice: A small resort with limited shops but good for walking a brilliant choice of places to eat and drink

Activities: The road train and the boat are a brilliant way to see the sights and visit othre resorts.

" ABSOLUTELY LOVELY "

I went to the Panorama for a chill out sunny week by the pool week, and that's exactly what I got. The hotel is lovely, clean and relaxed especially as it is Thomson Gold with no children around. The most out standing thing that every one notices is the fantastic staff throughout the hotel, I was so impressed with how happy, friendly and professional each and every one is, with a special mention for host Tony, and head coctail waiter Jose, they really made a lovely atmosphere. There is no pressure to join in with any of the activities however I loved the water aerobics and 4 o'clock quiz, even if I was rubbish. The food is lovely. Our room over looked the bay which was lovely. I would have no hesitation in returning and would recommend to any one that would enjoy a kids free holiday. I can not fault it in any way. Well done to all that makes this such a special place x.

Advice: Lovely quiet resort

" Great Hotel "

This hotel made our holiday. Well that and the fabulous weather. Food very good; buffet style with many British dishes available. Breakfast deserves particular mention as I'm sure this caused much of my 5lb weight gain! Staff friendly and went out of their way to help with any queries, very said to leave we were. We were in room 225 which overlooked the bay, nice enough room (standard holiday hotel) with large balcony - unfortunately this only got the sun early morning but we didn't spend that much time there so it wasn't a problem and a lovely outlook anyway.
I do agree that alot of sunbeds were reserved very early by people that didn't arrive until very late (if at all) - it's not fair I agree but it is pretty standard for British people on holiday! We can't really blame the hotel/tour operator for that as they can't please all of the people all of the time can they?
I was pleased to find free kettle, tea/coffee etc in the room and delighted with the free fridge. I'd certainly not hesitate to book this hotel again if only it were in Santa Eulalia. Nothing wrong with the resort as such, just a standard touristy resort but v small and too quiet for us, we found the evening lack-of-entertainment in resort dreadful. Thankfully the hotel had entertainment and overall it wasn't bad at all.

Advice: Small, quiet resort with limited entertainment but handy for travel to other places with more life

" Shame about the Selfish Guests "

As visitors to Thomson Gold hotels for several years now, we found that this hotel itself could not be faulted. Staff were efficient and helpful. Carlos the lifeguard even took some time every day to teach my husband and me some Spanish! However, our big complaint was the reserving of pool side sunbeds. We have this complaint every year, but this year was the worst by far! We were appalled at the lack of respect and selfishness displayed by fellow guests! Despite the many signs around the hotel and even the manager telling guests at the Welcome meeting not to reserve the sunbeds, the majority of guests (90% or even higher!) were determined to "book" their sunbeds anyway. This particular hotel was the worst in our experience for this extremely irritating problem. During our entire 14 day holiday, not once were we able to get a pool side sunbed. Every day after breakfast we would go to the pool at 9am, only to find almost every sunbed booked and not a soul in sight. I suspected that these selfish gits had set their alarms at the crack of dawn, went to the pool with their towels and then went back to bed for a few hours content in the knowledge that no one else would have the privilege of using "their" sunbeds. Often many of the reserved sunbeds were not even used until well into the afternoon. When we complained to the Thomson Rep, we were told that she was well aware of this ongoing problem but did not know how the hotel could prevent it. Not very effective customer care! On our departure day, we had to get up for breakfast at 6:30am and we witnessed the reason why were never able to get a sunbed by the pool. Many of them at this time were covered with towels and hordes of people were still making their well trodden paths to "pole positions" around the pool. Thomson must address this anti social behaviour or they will lose a great deal of business. We will definitely not go back to this hotel due to the selfish majority of ignorant guests who are allowed to get away with this disgusting behaviour. I think the time has come for us to think about an alternative to Thomson Gold Holidays as this behaviour would appear to be par for the course now.

" Fantastic Holiday "

Just come back from a week in the Panorama Hotel. It was fantastic and we didn't want to come home. Everything was spotless, right from the exterior to pool area.
We had a superior room overlooking the small marina and beach. We had a lovely big balcony with sunloungers. It was a real suntrap in the mornings. The room wasn't massive but big enough and we got a big basket of fruit on arrival and a 1.5 litre bottle of water every day, which was extremely useful.
I loved the pool area. The pool was quite big and you could still swim in it even when the water polo was taking place. The bar service wound the pool is excellent too...make sure you don't miss Jose's cocktail demonstration. I won't say anything more but he dresses for the occasion! There was always plenty going on during the day if you wanted to join in but the lovely Tony & Shelley never pressured anyone to take part if they didn't want to. It was quite good just watching.
The evening entertainment was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the Thomson Gold Production Team's night 'Pure Classics'...very professional. Another favourite was Queendom..a Spanish Queen tribute band. Every night after the main act the waiters and bar staff all do a dance to La Bomba. Jose even dragged me up a few times to do it with them. I didn't mind though...he's adorable! Pedro is really sweet too and Andrea is lovely.
There was always a good selection of food in the restauraant and the a la carte restaurant is also worth a visit too. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful, especially the Head Waiter, Juan, who always took my husband's wheelchair from me and found us a table. Maria the manager was lovely too and always around talking to guests. Everyone made us feel so at home and I can't wait to go back, hopefully in a couple of months time.

Advice: Lovely quiet resort and very chilled out. Handy for the Hippie Market.

Activities: Hippie Market is worth a look around on a Wednesday

" the only place to be "

me and my girlfriend visited this hotel 10yrs ago and enjoyed it so much we are going on our tenth visit this year (09)the staff are fantastic and welcome us by name.this is like a family run hotel they all have a great sense of humour and make you feel like you never left.the food and entertainment is fantastic and when the holiday reps are entertaining you ,so are the hotel staff.this hotel is close to the taxi rank and ferry and we travel around the island from here with little effort.sounds sad that we go every year but we meet alot of people who also do and keep in touch.this is like a second home and we always find something new each year on the island my only downfall in writing this review is that if I recomend this hotel I may not be able to get in there next year lol.

Advice: A safe friendly town ,perfect for children and has everything to fill your day and evenings

Activities: charlies bar,Savana

" Marina Panorama, es cana "

My partner and I had a weeks holiday at the Hotel Marina Panorama, Es Cana, Ibiza from 18th - 25th October 2008 which turned ot to be the best I have had. The resort itself is quite small but friendly and there is a good bus service to the nearby towns and Ibiza town itself. Check in was quick and problem free, our room was changed to one with a pool view at our request with no argument or charge! Reception staff were friendly & helpful (Thanks Jose!!) Our room was spotless, cleaned daily by friendly staff. Food was stunning, hot and plentiful with loads of variety and excellent staff! The entertainment throughout the day was unintrusive and we never felt forced to participate. (But we did on a couple of occasions) Evening entertainment was highly professional, non of your Hidi hi stuff here! The two girls running the entertainment side were excellent Chloe & Rachel take a bow!! Always smiling and happy, trying so hard, and succeeding, to keep us amused and entertained. We can recommend this hotel with no reservations at all,

" My husband and l have just returned... "

My husband and l have just returned from 2 weeks at the Marina Panorama Ibiza, what a lovely hotel it is,we couldnt fault it,the staff were very helpful and always cheerful,we had a lovely room, very clean. The food was very good especially on a Tuesday the managers cocktail night..king prawns..scampi..lobsters and lots of other things,i'm a picky eater but there was always something l liked.l was a bit worried about the shortage of beds as l had read some of your reviews but there were no problems when we were there,l even managed to find a shady spot under some trees. There were tea making facilities and a hair dryer in our room this was not mentioned in the brochure, we were not in a superior room.Rachel the Thompsond rep was a lovely girl her voice ringing out across the pool..Ola Rachel. One thing we would like is a better choise of sugar free drinks they only had coke or water and l prefer tonic in my gin! still the Red Lion served a very good gin and slim line tonic. We will definitely go again.

" Our fourth thomson GOLD hotel and... "

Our fourth thomson GOLD hotel and again a hotel of all round quality.Reception, housekeeping and especially the restaurant were all excellent. We were there for two weeks and didn't hear a single complaint from our fellow guests. For those that don't know the GOLD concept it is as follows. 100% British guests,no children, restaurant attuned to British palates, British tv as standard(bbc 1,2 &itv etc )(not CNN)and although you don't go away to watch TV, for that hour out of the sun in the afternoon and last thing at night it's nice to unwind without having to watch the American presidential election and yes, we read 11 books between us in the two weeks. Please excuse the 'Britishness' of this revue it's just that listening to EVERY sentence repeated in five or six languages(and rightly so)starts to grate after a while.A respectable hotel where a sense of politeness prevails(Gentlemen obeyed the long trousers for evening meals rule). Thanks Monica you run a wonderful hotel. THREE STAR? we,ve been in much, much worse FOUR STAR.

" This is the second time we've been to... "

This is the second time we've been to the Panorama and again we had a brilliant time!

This has to be the friendliest hotel we have ever been to - the staff really go out of their way to speak to you and make you feel welcome, and the Thomson Gold team were very informative and happy to help.

The food was the highlight of the holiday - the buffet was varied every night and was always of excellent quality, including the breakfast.

The pool area is very clean and spacious and the waiters are very entertaining and friendly - you'll never go thirsty! The lunchtime snack bar had a fantastic choice and was very good value for money.

The resort itself has a good selection of bars and shops, and the beach is right outside the hotel.

We will definitely be coming back to the Marina Panorama - the staff really make this holiday, from the cleaners to the management. Fantastic hotel!!!

" The hotel is what you would expect... "

The hotel is what you would expect from a Thomson Gold hotel: Clean, comfortable, excellent food & child free. The pool area is particularly good.

The resort has something for everyone without having too much of anything

There are regular buses to Ibiza Town & ferries to Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia, Cala Llonga & Formentera.

Es Cana beach is clean and the sea generally clear, although it can sometimes be a little murky in places and on particularly warm days jellyfish can pose a problem. The smaller but more secluded Cala Nova beach is a 15 - 20 min walk from Es Cana by road or by coastal footpath.
