We returned from a wonderful fortnights holiday in this hotel a week ago.We went through Thomson Gold and they were really good too. It's a lovely hotel with really friendly helpful staff. We would not hesitate to return again and recommend it to anyone! The resort is also marvellous. The weather was brilliant.

having just returned from holiday at the panorama i feel i must write this review. the hotel was a let down after having holidayed at other thomson gold hotels. the restaurant was a big disappointment.the crockery left a lot to be desired, some of it was chipped, some of it was still dirty even after having been washed, the pudding dishes were hot and wet which does not help if you were having ice cream and fruit.our room was not cleaned very well.some days we had coffee and milk left in the room other days we were left without.the remote control for tv was held together with tape.early arrivals and departures were a nightmare because of the wooden boardwalk under our room.on the plus side i cannot fault the reception staff on their willingness to help and polite demeaner.the entertainment team were also very good.

We have just had a week staying at the Panorama & although pleasant enough, we wouldn't go back. Most of the guests were 70+ & it felt like a Saga Holiday. My husband & I (49 & 51 year olds)were one of the youngest couples there. The whole dining experience was not for us either, tables very close together & a lot of repitition with regards to the food. Dinner was from 6pm - 9pm which for us was far too early, if you were still sitting at 9pm, the staff were clearing the dining room round about you. We ate about 8.15 each evening & were usually last to leave at about 9.10. I hated the feeling of being rushed, we enjoy relaxing over our evening meal but this was definately not possible here. You were herded in & back out again as quickly as possible. We ate out a few evenings as we like to stay on the beach until about 6.30, go back to the hotel to relax for a while & then go out about 8.30 - 9pm. We found ourselves leaving the beach a bit early some evenings just so that we could get to dinner by about 8pm.
We did however have a GREAT sea view & a huge balcony but the Hotel has no 'buzz' whatsoever. I hate rowdy or noisy hotels but a happy medium would have been good. This hotel was more like a retirement home. If you're under 65 or 70, YOU'RE TOO YOUNG TO STAY HERE!

I'm a single traveller and have stopped at this hotel many times. My single room is small but has a balcony overlooking the sea and I don't get charged a hefty supplement for the room either. I'm very happy with this as I only use the room for sleeping and getting ready to go out and its lovely to sit on the balcony in the early hours of the morning and watch what's happening.
Although it is in need of refurbishjment (which is being done this winter) both the rooms and the public areas are kept spotlessly clean. All the staff are friendly and helpful and there are plenty of waiters so you never have to wait for a drink.
As someone else has said the food is awsome, so much so I put on 12lbs during my stay and that is without having any lunch!! I doubt if anyone could think of anything they have in a cooked breakfast at home that the hotel don't serve every day.
The entertainment has been going down year after year and although I wouldn't mind the odd opera show there were far too many but you don't have to stop at the hotel in the evenings. There's Charlies just round the corner which has 3 bingo games each night followed by a tribute act or a 5 min walk to Popeye's which has similar entertainment. There are also a number of bars. I'd like to add that I thought the Thomson Production Team entertainment was far superior to the professional acts.
Adam and Claire worked really hard both during the day and in the evenings - Adam made me laugh more than any other Rep has. If you don't like the entertainment round the pool during the day do what I do and go down to the beach, lie on your Thomson towel and then get it changed for a new one the next morning.
Es Cana is a small resort but has lots of places to look round and you can 'island hop' on the boat ferries or by bus. I'd recommend the Panorama to anyone as long as they are not looking for night clubs. Having said that if you want to drink till 4am there are plenty of bars around.
Everyone's gripe - sunbeds - this has been a problem for nearly 20 years as we used to go there when it was a Thomson Sun hotel when the children were little. Although there is this mad rush early in the morning being on my own I never had a problem getting a sunbed and it was fairly easy to get a couple together if you didn't mind not being by the pool. Thomsons tell me that this is the hotel's responsibility and they could easily solve it by removing two-thirds of the tables and chairs during the day and replacing them with sunbeds.
I've already booked for next year and am looking forward to seeing the newly refurbished Panorama.

Just returned from a week at the Panorama Hotel. Quite resort but plenty of buses to take you into the next town and some good walks. I thought the hotel room was basis and cleaning could have been better, food I though was very poor – they tried to cook British food which didn't work, would have enjoyed some of the local dishes, although we did have Paella one evening as a main course which wasn't great - thank god for cheese and crackers!! However, I must say breakfast was excellent.
We waited ages to get a drink with our evening meal, the waiters were all rushing round but not getting anything done and the waitresses took a while to clear the plates after our meal, what will it be like in the high season if they can’t cope now?
Entertainment team were fab, Clair and Adam were absolutely great, they were so funny and made our holiday, the actual entertainment was also great. The hotel had some really good acts on all week. Drinks were what you would pay here, however, they were probably doubles!!

The hotel is in a great location and is light and airy the facilities and service are good.
Not for me was the Thomson Gold entertainment - all very Hi-di-hi campers! and noisy in the day and a mixed bag at night. We went elsewhere for peace & quiet in the day.
One thing to avoid - the free "A La Carte" restaurant - the service was nice after a week of buffet but the food was abysmal (who would put Bisto gravy on a nice sirloin steak?).
The main restaurant was very good and the Tuesday Gala dinner awesome.

This was our second stay at the Panorama and am pleased to say the staff, hotel and food were excellent. The hotel is looking a little worn in places and dated in places especially the rooms. Whilst we were there we had to queue every morning at 7.45am at the pool doors to get a sunlounger by the pool. This turned into a real scrum as the queue got longer and longer as the days went by. On one occassion I happened to put a towel on a lounger at the same time as someone else, this person actually said " I will fight you for it " So things have not improved on that front.
The entertainment was terrible the first week, opera, opera opera and more opera!!! However the second week picked up and was alot better. We will go back another year but not next year. I think we will try another Thompson Hotel.

This was our sixth stay at the Panorama and am pleased to say the staff, the hotel and of course the food were excellent. Although the hotel is looking a little worn in places, it looks as though this is being addressed gradually. Whilst we were there in July even the sun bed fiasco was being addressed - well done and good luck. However the Thompson Gold Professional acts have gone steadily down hill. For instance mediocre opera for four out of seven nights. Thomson should also invest in some uptodate background music. We don't all want to live in the past, and we are no spring chickens. Neednless to say we have already booked for 2011 but with sea view.

just got back from holiday at the hotel panorama and have to say that i really enjoyed myself. the issue of sunbeds can be seen in most reviews, but whilst we were there the hotel have tried to tackle the problem. anyone leaving towels on the sunbeds before half 8 in the morning and not staying with their towels will have them taken away. couldnt beleieve it when i saw many holiday makers still get up at 6 or 7 and stay with their towels till half 8 then go for breakfast. but i did see a huge difference in the availablility of the sunbeds so hopefully the hotel will stick to their new policy and keep thinking of ways of improving the situation.
the food was fantastic and you can help yourself to as much as you want. food is aimed at the british but they also provided other food for people with certain dietry requirements and some foods from other countries. our room was fine. had everything we needed. we had a sea view which was fab and the noise from outside late a night was not loud at all. the air con in the room is fab and really helped to cool you down. the entertainment was ok but there is lots to do out of the hotel aswell. although alot of reveiw2s have said it is geared to old people, whilst we were there alot of younger couples were there too. the staff were brilliant. they went out of their way to sort things out for you and to make sure you holiday was great. have got to say the bar staff were brilliant. they had humour, mannors and good personalities. overall i had a fab experience and would go back again.

This is a great hotel, the staff are very good and food is excellent, shame the same cant be said of the thomson staff they have their favourites and to top it all if you want a sun bed forget it unless you get up at the crack of dawn and are millitary trained. The location is good right by the beach shops and bars are plentiful but we found the hotel to be a little expensive. The entertainment for a Thomson Gold Hotel is very poor unless you are tone deaf or getting on in life (ie) elderly.

We spent the last week of the season at this hotel W/E 31.10.11
So very disappointed..................
The pool although beautiful was freezing
The indoor jacuzis were switched off
The outdoor jacuzis were working but the water was not warmed up at all!
They closed the pool bar for the last 2 days
The entrance lobby/lounge areas are tatty and the furniture badly worn
Breakfast was good but they did not bother to replenish some of cereals and juices for the last two/three days...Just told "all finished you can't have any more!
Staffing in the restaurant was minimal and on the last two days very sparse indeed!
The food at dinner was never hot and crockery etc was awful and chipped and sometimes the plates etc were wet
Our room was ok, the shower very good, the view super! The walls marked and dirty in places. Whe we Arrived there was a dirty piece of torn towel in the bottom of the fridge; we were told it was to soak up the water! We insisted it was sorted....only another towel was placed in there!
The entertainment.............same duo every night.....same rubbishy awards for daytime activities (is this a kids club!) The comedian was awful.....smutty and derogatory towards women...needs new material!
Saving grace was some of the Tomson entertainment staff....especially ADAM...brilliant entertainer and always put guests first. Tomson's staff entertainment team on the last night knocked spots off the regular duo and the comedian who were supposed to be professionals! The only other entertainment that was brilliant was a duo booked for one night only called "Me and Him" fantastic guitarists and singers.
Every day more and more chairs, tables and staff disappeared from the restaurant, they were basically closing up the hotel around us the whole week!
On the morining of our departure breakfast was cold food only and the tea machine was not working...they ran out of fresh orange juice too.
We had a day of storms and heavy rain.....the water was pouring down through the cooker hood over the servery and food in the restaurant. There were beach towels everywhere soaking up the rain and also in the lobby/lounge areas where it was coming through the walls by the skirtings!
We went to this hotel the same time last year and wasn't so bad so we thought we'd give it a try again....wish we hadn't bothered....we won't ever be going back to them again!
Next time we'll go back to our favourite little two star hostal B&B in Es Cana where you always get treated well all the time and everything is so much superior and the food is wonderful and the welcome faultless!...........
