We have just come back from the best holiday ever, no complaints at all.
We have 2 children 8 & 12 and I have never seen them enjoy themselves so much on holiday like they did this one.
The staff were fantastic, the apartment was too, and as we were staying self catering there was everything you needed in a very well equipped kitchen. The bed linen was changed 3 times in a week, and the towels 4 times, the bathroom was lovely with a shower, a bath with overhead shower and a vanity unit. We had a double bedroom, with large wardrobe and the kids slept on the bed settees we also had a double balcony which was nice with table and chairs.
We went out during the day to the beach or Fuengirola town or on one of the trips that were very well organised and in the evening we spent in the bar where the reps put on very good shows and there was a couple of cabaret acts that were also excellent.
The beach was about a 10 minute lovely walk which can be taken through the gardens of other hotels and it certainly wasn't a put off rather the opposite.
All in all an excellent holiday with a 10 out of 10 rating.

There is nothing you can say bad about the Myramar Castle Beach!
Fantastic clean large apartments, well decorated and equipped. The hotel staff are all extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome.
The apartments are about 10 minutes from the beach and centre, but it can be a nice walk, the bus from outside reception currently costs 90cents and takes you into town, a taxi costs around 5 euros.
The Miramar Shopping Centre across the road is great, it has everything you could ever need to buy!
We traveled with My Travel/Airtours, and although I have had a few bad experiences with Airtours in the past, I could not fault them, every thing was perfect, and great value for money!
A definite 10/10 from me, will definitely be going back!

The Myramar Castle Beach Apartments could not be faulted in my opinion.
The whole resort was spotless and our room was cleaned every other day. I was a bit disappointed with the view out of the back when we first arrived but soon realised that our balcony had the sun all day!
If you prefer to stay in the resort on holiday then this is the perfect place. It has everything you need there, and the shop for food etc is a nice two minutes walk away. I don't recommend eating in the shopping centre, we found it very difficult to order food and because of this the service wasn't great, but there is a fantastic doughnut shop in there which is worth a visit!
The pool was fantastic, the kids loved it, although it was a little chilly this time of year. Again it was very clean and I felt comfortable letting the kids have a little run around and although the large out door pool is suitable for children they have a mini pool outside too that only came up to my calves at the deepest end.
The restaurant was lovely. We had the option to upgrade to half board from the hotel for about 90€ and wish we had, we got to try a lot of different food and they had a great selection. Although the kids usually ended up with nuggets and chips every night, but they didn't complain!
They have a mini disco every night for the kids which was great, the male entertainer was so good with the children and was great at wearing them out! Although I think they should remove the last dance where the children have to bring mum or dad to dance!
The staff were all so friendly and helpful, at this time of year the children’s play room wasn't open but were more than happy to let the kids in to play with all of the toys, and even put a DVD on for them to watch.
A very comfortable atmosphere throughout the resort, when I first arrived and saw all the marble floors, big leather sofas and ornaments I cringed, but the staff soon put me at ease when they didn't even look up as the kids ran through reception screaming!
All in all a fantastic holiday, and in my opinion great for single parent families, so great in fact that I am considering booking another week in may to take the children on my own without Grandma and Grandad!

Myramar castle beach is excellent for families, we had a lovely time in august, and weather was really hot and sunny.
The hotel itself is very clean, and the kids loved the pools when they opened, at around 10.30 on a morning, first morning got up at 7.30, the kids were devastated when they found they couldn’t go swimming until 10.30, anyway when they opened they loved it, the entertainment fantastic, but could do with more for the kids.
As far as the walk to the seafront, forget it! Get a bus or a taxi, there is a bus stop that is right outside the hotel, cheap as chips! and do beware of any dodgy characters that hang about on the bridge, its not that bad, but just be careful of your money!
Fantastic Chinese across the bridge called WOK do try it wonderful!! Great shopping centre across the road, but don’t eat there, rubbish, go to the seafront and try the lovely beach front restaurants where they do fresh fish barbecued, lovely, they cant do enough for you, we also tried the restaurant in the hotel, not bad, but I would definitely recommend self catering it is a shame to miss out on all them lovely restaurants on the sea front, go to Benalmadena for a day, lovely place to visit, Tivoli world, also a great day out,
I would definitely go again but will try something different next year.

We first went to the Castle Beach when it had just opened in 2002. It was fine then and it is fine now. Large clean extremely comfortable apartments. with a shower over the bath and a separate power shower. A bit far out of town, but the local bus (85 cents) stops outside the door. Dunnes Stores and Lidl are 5 min walk away and the huge Eroski Shopping Mall is 5 min. Beware Gypsies and muggers on the bridge over the river near Dunnes. The beach is about 10 min. walk. Towels & sheets changed regularly and even though we were s/c we used the restaurant a few times and the food was good.
Large shallow pool ideal for kids. with lifeguards on duty most of the time. Staff very pleasant and helpful. I recommend it.

Castle Beach Apartments are very nice but are very far away from the sea front and town centre. They are very clean and quite spacious. The indoor pool is ideal for this time for year. The kids club is really good. The Two Jenny’s were there when my little girl went and she totally loved them. The entertainment at night was ok. Every second night there is something quite good on. The bingo and quiz nights are not too exciting!
Fuengirola itself is not too great. At this time of year most things close at about 5pm and that includes many of the restaurants. I would suggest getting on the local bus and going to Torremolinos and Benalmadenia as they are very nice with nice beaches.
You will read many great reviews about the Zoo and all reps etc will advise you to go but I wouldn’t. It is really small and you will be round it in less than half an hour. All the animals enclosures are small and they seem very miserable.
Be very wary of the timeshare people. They issue scratch cards and tell you that you have won a free prize. When you go to collect it they will keep you there for about three hours trying to convince you to part with your money!
All in all we had a good holiday and the weather was really nice. I wouldn’t go back to Fuengirola but would go to one of the nearby towns.

Great looking and clean hotel, staff were brill and the facilities were superb for all ages a great family holiday.
A bus runs every 15 mins into the town and only costs a couple of euros per family. Meals were very tasty. Lots to do in the hotel so you could stay there all day without getting bored, a shopping complex is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and is fabulous, we are planning to return this year.
The hotel caters for all age groups, and we could not ask for a better holiday.

The Myramar Castle Beach was nothing other than fantastic as where Airtours!
We flew out from Manchester with MyTravel Airways who where brilliant; seats where comfortable, spacious, meals great, duty free great, excellent service from cabin crew and punctual.
Upon arrival at Malaga we where greeted by our Airtours representative wearing a very smart uniform. She was fantastic, very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and most of all - down to earth. We where transferred on the MyTravel coach which was also great; very comfortable and modern unlike the Thomson coaches we saw at the airport - one of which had broken down!
On the coach, we where handed welcome packs full of useful information, discounts to various attractions, restaurant recommendations, maps and holiday tips. Our representative also told us lots of handy information about the resort.
The transfer was speedy and efficient and we arrived at our hotel soon after.
We pulled up outside the Myramar, which looked, very modern, clean and stylish. We collected our bags, walked up the marble steps, into the grand entrance where our representative saw us through to our checking in.
We where allocated our room by the friendly staff, facing the pool and given our key card which was a nice touch.
A staff member carried our bags to the room expecting no tip at all which was very helpful. The rooms where huge, tastefully decorated and furnished and again modern. We had a large balcony, sparkling bathroom suite, comfortable beds and other amenities besides.
As it was late we unpacked and rested for the night.
In the morning the sun was shining and we decided to have a look around before the welcome meeting by the pool bar.
The hotel has an inside pool, inside bar and entertainment area, internet facilities a small arcade type zone, kids club and nursery, restaurant, dedicated Airtours information area, pool bar, sports court, play area, volleyball, basketball, golf range, fitness suite, sauna, reading room and lounge.
After a look around we reserved or lounges and attended the welcome event. There where two representatives - an Airtours Nursery Nurse and an Airtours Mainline Team Leader. Together they produced an informative, well constructed event, which didn’t last to long as some can do. They also told about the buy one get one free offer at the pool bar each day which was great!
So all the information in mind we settled for a relaxed day in the sun by the pool.
The week passed uneventfully with various excursions taken including one to Gibraltar, which was fantastic - again on a MyTravel coach, which in the scorching sun, was cooled with air conditioning. It almost made you feel guilty watching the Thomson, Thomas Cook and First Choice passengers sweating after getting of their coaches, which to be honest, looked to be falling apart.
We also attended the Cabaret evening put together by the Airtours, Direct Holidays and Panorama team, which for a 40 Euros included a 3 course meal, unlimited alcoholic and soft drinks and of course; the cabaret all hosted in a pleasant, traditional theatre near to Malaga. The event was firstly hosted by a well known comedian, who was very funny and then the representatives also put on a very entertaining, all singing, all dancing show. Also children where kept entertained by the kids representatives with face painting and suchlike.
The holiday continued without a glitch in the warm Mediterranean sunshine which made for a very enjoyable holiday.
The 7 days soon passed and it was time to return home to Manchester. A MyTravel coach along with two representatives, again very smartly dressed, picked us up for the transfer. They re-confirmed to us, our flight information as MyTravel Airways flight MYT145 as well as gate information and check-in desks.
Once back at Malaga Airport, the representative saw us all through to departures by which time we where close to boarding.
Sure enough our aircraft was at the gate waiting and we boarded to be welcomed by the very friendly cabin crew who showed us to our seats. Again, they where very comfortable and spacious and the onboard product left some scheduled airlines (Aer Lingus and British Airways) to shame. The meals where superb, the in-flight entertainment was great and the duty free; vast, as like the outbound service. We arrived back in a very wet Manchester early with a smooth landing and once we had de-planed our luggage was awaiting us.
That was it, our holiday had come to an end and on a very fine note it closed on too.
Overall MyTravel/Airtours where absolutely fabulous and offered us a great holiday. I will be using Airtours again and again in the future as with every occasion we have travelled with them, they have been fantastic. I highly recommend Airtours Holidays as well as the Myramar Castle Beach and MyTravel Airways. Well done!

The apartments were large and very clean with regular maid service.
The entertainment staff were second to none, I have never seen so many children enjoying themselves every day, from first thing in the morning till last thing at night. This means the parents can also relax and enjoy their holiday also.
I thought the pool design was fantastic the whole pool is entered by way of shallow water.
There is a huge shopping centre next door (shoe heaven) it also has a very large supermarket with every thing you need if self catering, and many designer shops, plus there is a lidel just up the road.
The only thing was the location it’s a little out of the way, about ten minutes from beach front, which is really no problem for most people but if you are less mobile or older it maybe. On saying this there is a bus every 20 minutes from outside complex cost 80 cents, it drops you off near fuengirola train station. You can travel from there all the way along the coast to Malaga if you wish. The trains are always on time and air conditioned. There is plenty places to visit many markets different places, different days, a zoo, marinas, mijas (donkeys are brill), Gibraltar (cheap shopping) and the apes.
Plenty places to eat and drink near to complex whatever your budget, but if you want to stay at the complex there is a poolside bar that sells snacks, a restaurant, and a bar, that is open till 1.30 with a happy hour from 11 till 12 and the entertainment finishes at 12, so you can have a full day every day if you wish or just chill and do nothing.
Would go back again because you could not fault the place itself or the staff they are all very friendly to adults and children alike.

Hotel is lovely, but the complex is a 15 to 20 min walk to the main resort which can be hard work when the sun is beaming down. Plenty for the children to do and the staff are all very nice and very helpful. Drinks and food are very expensive so buy from the local shops, and make sure you enjoy the happy hour buy one drink and get another free.
Take swimming caps or you cannot use the indoor swimming pool.

An excellent overall holiday for families who require a bit more than just a room and a pool.
The entertainment was great, a little tacky maybe but that's what makes the children happy - happy kids, happy parents.
The apartments were spacious and clean with excellent bathroom facilities and air conditioning.
The food was buffet style and was good for the price. Location, too far to walk to the beach or main resort but we didn't feel the need for more that the complex offered anyway. Anyway there was a bus that ran to either of we just jumped in a taxi. A huge shopping mall 5mins away (if that) which had a top supermarket and many other quality shops and restaurants.
Will we go back, absolutely next year!
