One of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. The appartment was large and airy every thing you needed and more for a self catering holiday even a washing machine so no need to come home with loads of washing. Laura the lady who looked after these appartments was lovely and nothing was to much trouble not that we needed her. Not to far to walk to the shops and super market and the night life and one of the most wonderful beaches in the world. I would recommend these appartments to anyone if you are looking for a quiet area with not to far to beach and night life this is the place to be

spent a week in castelos da rocha and lovd it. on arrival we were met by receptionist, very friendly and she showed us to our apartment, even though we had only booked a 1 bedroom apartment we were given a 2 bedroom one- there were only 2 of us so plenty of room! decent sized rooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles, plenty of wardrobe space. massive bathroom. kitchen had everything we required, kettle, toaster and even a washing machine. only thing we had to pay for was a safe but this only cost 12 euros for the week. maid service was 5 times a week but towels are only changed once, however since we had a washing machine this wasn't a problem. apartments were quiet which was good, pool nice enough, we only went to it once as we both prefer the beach. beach and the strip of shops, restaurants etc are only a 5 min walk away. beach is lovely, though rather a lot of steps down to it. watersports as well. plenty of restaurants and shops, we ate out most nights. enjoy your stay!

These apartments were exellent, very clean and spacious, lovely pool area with bar, 5 minute walk to the beach and the main strip with its many bars and restaurants which catered for all ages. There were teenagers, middle aged and small children in our group with something for everyone at the resort. The location was superb.

We would reccomend the Sitting Bull restaraunt. The food was of a high standard, but beware..the portions were very large!

We would definately reccomend these apartments and the surrounding resort.

i would highly reccommend this...

This was the first time that we had booked this self catering Apartment.

The service was warm; the apartment was extremely clean with nice marble details.

The location was ideal, as it´s close to all the action, however removed enough to enjoy some tranquillity.

The pool was very clean and private.

Enjoy your stay.

Just come back from these lovely...

Just come back from these lovely apartments - stayed there with my mum and two year old daughter.

Laura, receptionist, had checked the age of my little one and put us in a apartment without the spiral stairs, which goes to show the thought and consideration she and the other staff put into your stay!

Would highly recommend to anyone, especially with little ones as there are actually three poles, which includes a children's pool.

Very clean accommodation including washing machine, kettle, toaster, etc - basically everything you'd need for a brilliant holiday - all included and was really good.

We chose a one bedroom apartment which was very clean and generously spacious for three of us.

The resort was undergoing a reconstruction of the main paths/roads to the front of the resort, which was a bit difficult with a pushchair but people were more than happy to help out with tourists.

My husband and I, plus 14 year old son and his friend went on holiday to Praia da Rocha in the Spring half term week.

We had never been to Portugal before so we were really looking forward to it. The apartment we stayed in, the Castelas da Rocha is not a very impressive sight from the outside, very basic looking. On arrival we were told that although we had originally booked a one bedroom apartment we could have a two bedroom apartment at no extra cost. Very nice surprise!

The apartment itself was absolutely spotless with two good sized bedrooms up a spiral staircase and everything you could think of, microwave, washing machine (handy if you have little kids who enjoy getting filthy) etc. There was a small pool and a pool bar and the staff were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.

Praia da Rocha itself, I have to say, was a bit of a disappointment. Not a great deal to do, lovely beach but no water sports which was a shame for the lads who were looking forward to paragliding and jetskis.

It was very quiet too and the locals we spoke to said that the season was very slow to get going this year. They thought it was because Easter was a couple of weeks later.

A game of golf is VERY expensive, hire of golf clubs for 3 plus the game itself cost about £140.

Quite a lot of the pubs tended to be Irish bars and there were a lot of local gypsies offering drugs and cigarettes on the streets.

A visit to the fishing village of Alvor was worthwhile. It's still a relatively unspoilt village with lots of lovely places to eat the local fish dishes.

All in all I think we may have been better staying in Albufeira, it looked a lot livelier but you don't know these things at the time of booking.

If you’re looking for a clean, hassle free, peaceful break then I would fully recommend this accommodation and location.

We had gorgeous weather, good facilities in the room (cooker, toaster, washing machine, fridge freezer etc) and were a short walk from the main resort and beach. It hosts a great number of Irish bars and reasonably priced restaurants serving the fantastic sardine pate, bread and olives to start which my friend and I fell in love with!

The beach is clean and pretty, and the location is one of the quietest I have been to in terms of rowdy partying and scooters. The bars are busy in the evenings and the native Super Bock is very cheap and does the trick! Once you leave the vicinity of the bars though, it is easy to catch up on your beauty sleep and prepared for another day in Portuparadise.

Castelos da Rocha made our first holiday in Portugal a great success.

The apartments are large, well equipped and spotless.

Laura the receptionist and her staff are faultless.

Maria and her family who run the poolside bar are most friendly & welcoming.

Needless to say we shall return next year.

Fantastic apartment with plenty of room (4 adults and 3 children)

very clean and tidy with a high standard of finish in the rooms.

All you need is there for you and more, this was my first trip abroad and I’m hooked...You could not ask for nicer people to look after you while on holiday all the staff at Castelos are great and really care, we came away feeling like old friends we were all very sad to leave!

Lovely location just outside of the town but a quick if a little steep walk and your right in the main drag which is clean and pleasant both during the day and night, there are shops, bars, markets and some great places to eat even on a budget. We never felt threatened or intimidated once great place with genuinely great people. We love Portugal and would not hesitate to return.

And no I don’t work for a tour operator!!!

Having visited Praia Da Rocha several times for family holidays, we stayed at the Castelos Da Rocha. The apartments are on 2 floors with a fully fitted kitchen including washing machine and oven. A 3 piece suite and dining table and chairs. Upstairs 2 bedrooms a balcony and a double bathroom. A very pleasant complex and within walking distance of all the main attractions. So good I have already booked again for next year.
