Carriage House Hotel

We exchanged to the Carriage house through Interval International using our Sunterra Points. They usually do pick up from the airport to the hotel free. Have been some hiccups on this so see if it is on your II confirmation. The resort is about 5-10 minutes from the Strip & the Aladdin Casino. The resort runs shuttles to Harrahs 3 or 4 times a day but not after 6.30 pm. Our studio 618 was quite large, but I think there could be larger in the resort. A little tired but only a little. It might only have been the colours. L shaped: Enter the door, bathroom on left with bath & shower over it. Again a little tired. Mirrored wardrobe on right. Next on left little kitchenette .2 ring hob & microwave, standard size fridge. Little breakfast bar against wall or use coffee table. Speaking about coffee the packet they give you makes 2 coffees in filter machine & it is a £1 to buy more. Buy some coffee at a supermarket. If you want more filter papers ask housekeeping. They will supply a kettle if asked but you need to ring housekeeping. They did a shopping trip Sunday & Wednesday but again don’t know if they still do. There is a little supermarket at back of Flamingo Hotel & a shop that does all sorts of things on the Main Drag between Harley Davison & MGM. Back to room: A double bed settee & nice big bed. Never felt it was too small.
Activities they organise: Try trips. One to Laughlin $5 worth doing but quite a long day. However they showed us the Hoover Dam on the way & a free reasonable buffet. We did a river trip which was interesting & relaxing. Laughlin is hot. They also do Freemont Street for $7.50. WE missed booking it straight away & landed up on public buss. A Nightmare. They also do shopping outlets trip (free I think).
Pool warm & Jacuzzi boiling. They are doing some building work at the moment, noticeable as it is next to the pool but it is not a big problem. Lovely Staff.
Only 5-10 minutes walk to strip. If you want to go to MGM you can cut off the corner by going to Back of Carriage House & walking back a little & there is a road to MGM. Cut off other corner to strip casinos by cutting through Aladdin Desert Passage .Carriage house do a shuttle to Harrahs 3 or 4 times a day. Harrahs Buffet very good but $25.99. Catch the girls hovering about offering vouchers for $5 dollars off each. Imperial Palace very good under $15 if I remember correctly. Riveria buffet average but drink as much cheap champagne as you like. We got free tickets for Buffet & show by attending a presentation at the carriage house. That’s another story. Don’t go to the presentation. We explored as many casinos as possible mainly just looking. Lots of things going on for free. Caesars Palace has a light & moving statue thing hourly, Treasure Island has Sirens of TI. To my mind nothing special but my husband liked it. Pick up as many voucher books for free & discounted shows. Don’t be embarrassed about using them all the locals do. Get free plays at casinos or try Aladdin’s $20 package. Had $20 slot play + a free gift plus other free tries. Got a lovely watch as my free gift.
