We had a great time in the hotel. The room was spacious with a fridge and coffee maker and plenty of room to store and hang clothes for a 2 week stay. The hotel was quiet and very pretty and we benefitted from a lovely view of the river. Food was fine and as we were on the... more

This is a lovely Disney hotel. We enjoy it so much more than the larger hotels, because everything (like the pool, etc.) is closer. You don't have to walk down vast hallways to get to your room. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The Disney shuttles are great, you... more

Great resort for families with young kids
We spent a wonderful week at the Port Orleans French Quarter and I would highly recommend it to any one with young children. We had originally booked an off site hotel, but after reading all of the reasons to stay one site (like easy back and forth to the parks) we thought the French Quarter seemed the best choice for us. The resort in smaller than most of the other Disney resorts which makes it easy to get around and after a long day at the parks who wants to spend 20 minutes walking to their room? The pool was nice and had a great slide... more
We love the Port Orleans French Quarter
We have stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter seven times since 1995 when we came on our Honeymoon. We can't say enough wonderful things about it. It is our favorite place in the world for a vacation. The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly (we even exchange Christmas cards with some of them), the hotel is beautiful, the setting is tranquil and provides me with the most amazing calming influence as soon as I arrive. The pool is wonderful and even in the afternoon (with many playful children around) it is big enough to find a quiet... more
Not the Disney I Know
Before I start this review, let me preface by saying that I am a very frequent visitor to both Disney and Universal, and have always been impressed, until now. I have to agree with one of the previous reviewers who likened the Port Orleans French Quarter to a glorified hotel. The grounds are beautiful, but the accommodations themselves are only soso. I reserved after being told that the hotel was just recently completely renovated, and have to say I am certainly glad I didn't stay here prior to the renovations. The rooms were small, the... more
Six-time guest at Port Orleans- FQ
Spent many memorable vacations at Port Orleans. However, we miss the "old" Port Orleans, with Bonfamille's Restaurant. The combining of the original Port Orleans with Dixie Landings took some of the luster off of P.O. Otherwise, still a great resort.
Awesome Vacation!
Just returned from a 4 night/5 day vacation package at Port Orleans French Quarter and I can't say enough nice things about the new and improved Disney property. We were on the first floor with a standard room across from the pool with 2 double beds and plenty of room for the 4 of us. (2 adults/14y.o/10y.o.) The time Disney took to update this resort was well worth it. Our room was squeaky clean with all new bedspreads, carpeting, tile, furniture and a nifty curtain dividing the sink area from the rest of the room. With the curtain... more
Glorified Marriott
Disneyworld lover, I was quite surprised after reading some of these excellent reviews, to walk into my hotel room at the PO French Quarter. I was expecting brand-new everything, cleanliness, and impeccable service. Instead I walked into a room with dirty clothes in the drawers, a dirty bathing suit in the bathroom, a bathtub black with dirt, crumbs on the tile floor, and a broken light bulb in one of the fixtures. Moreover, we had specifically requested a King-sized room, and even had confirmed it a couple of days before... more
Very Nice and Clean Hotel
Port Orleans Riverside was a very pleasant stay. They were a little short on the amenities though (e.g., shampoo, soap, etc.). The grounds are beautiful and the music was very jovial. We were a little disappointed that the hotel does not offer room service. They have a food court, but like most Disney food, it isn't very good and is very expensive. I would suggest that the travelers take as much of their own food as possible.
Great Stay at the Port Orleans French Quarter
We just returned from a 5-night stay at Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter and we loved it! We have two children (1 & 8) and they both enjoyed the great pool with the serpent slide. My wife and I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and beautiful landscaping. You felt like you had an apartment in a neighborhood, not a hotel room. The bus service to the theme parks was excellent, and the French Quarter was always the first stop on the return trips from the parks. Downtown Disney was only a 15 minute boat ride away from this resort. Boats... more
Wonderful Hotel!!!!
My family and I stayed at the French Quarter last March 2003. We had such a wonderful experience at this resort. The themed pool was great and the scenery just awesome! It was a great benefit having the boat that goes to Downtown Disney. We are going again in March 2005 and will be staying at this resort again. DisneyWorld is like no other place in this world!!!
Been there, done that, going back!
ºOºMy husband and I stayed at POFQ on our honeymoon back in the summer of 2000. 10 days/9 nights at the end of July & beginning of August. We were so wonderfully pleased with this hotel. We had booked a king bed, and ended up in a room that was on a corner facing the water of the Sassagoula River. Not only was the hotel room nice, but when we did have an issue (right after we got in, my husband opened the curtains on one of our windows and ended up with the curtain coming down with his hand! oops!), maintenance was there within 5 minutes... more
