We have had 3 visits to The Rock Hotel in the last 12 months, it is a wonderful place to chill out and relax. The staff are so polite, welcoming and make you feel important and they are actually happy to have you there. Especially the bar and Wisteria Terrace staff. We are auctually looking forward to our next visit. Recommend a visit to everyone. We found the town also had plenty to do and see. Visit the monkeys.

WE STAYED HERE FOR 2 NIGHTS BEFORE LEAVING GIBRALTAR (AFTER OUR FANTASTIC 3 YR POSTING) AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. THE ROOMS ARE FANTASTIC, THE BEDS HUGE & THE FOOD EXCELLENT. STAFF ARE WONDERFUL, THEY ENJOY LOOKING AFTER THEIR GUESTS AND NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE. DEPENDING WHICH ROOM YOU ARE IN YOU GET FANTASTIC VIEWS OUT TO SEA FROM YOUR BALCONY....BLISS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE....TRY IT AND SEE!

We've holidayed at the Rock since 1999 and been there four times since 2002.
Wonderful place - like going back to home.
Genteel but the staff like guests who are human - you get much more than the normal service if you are.
We're back there again in July for another relaxing break.
As far as facilites go the Barbary Bar is excellent with delicious 'snack' menu.
The restaurant meals, including breakfast, are superb with a wide choice of variety.
The pool area is a delight and the salt water very refreshing in the hot weather.
The only downside we have each time is acclimatising ourselves to the hill when walking back from town - but we know by the end of our stay we're a lot fitter than when we started and have walked off the extra calories put on.

" Fantastic room, view, food, and... "

Fantastic room, view, food, and service.
The room was massive with whisky and sherry provided (free) and refilled each night.
The service was A class, the view was spectacular.
This was a true 4* hotel (unlike my last holiday Hera Village Crete. Argh!).
I would recommend this hotel to anyone - the only thing negative I would say is owing to its location it would not be suitable to guests with walking difficulties.
I liked it so much we have booked our wedding there September 2008!!
Happy Holidays.

" Upon arriving the Rock Hotel in... "

Upon arriving the Rock Hotel in Gibraltar you are warmly greeted and made to feel like you have stepped back in time to the era of the 70’s where grand hotels are places of utter luxury. The hotel boasts an impressive collection of famous visitors including the members of the British Royal family and celebrities including Sean Connery. The hotel itself is impressively located half way up the Rock with commanding views overlooking the ocean, with the facilities to match including a veranda restaurant, out door swimming pool, gymnasium and casino next door.
All in all the hotel is quite expensive for what you get with the cheapest room being £120 a night B&B. You can’t help feeling though that its glory days are passed and that the hotel is trying to cling onto the past. But for all that it receives my recommendation as a stop over point and a glimpse back into halcyon days.
