We did a Xmas trip for 4 nights here, and had a lovely time in the beautiful city of Prague.

The Botel, a floating boat on the Vlatvar River was a convenient location, 5-10 mins walk to the main square, Charles Bridge etc.

The rooms are a bit shabby and really could do with a new lick of paint!!

The bar area is lovely though, prices so cheap and the barmaid very nice, always smiling.

Most of reception were friendly and helpful but for one, which I won't complain about. Just when she realised two girls were sharing a double room, she got the wrong idea but I thought it none of her business to explain you get a bigger room if a double!

The city is amazing, food excellent and reasonably cheap if you don’t sit in the main squares. 2 mins away or round the corner, you pay a quarter of the price for food or drink.

It snowed when we were there and the city looked like a picture postcard.

I would recommend anyone going to Prague however, I would not return to this hotel purely on the shabbiness of the interior.

Enjoy Prague all!

Very easy to reach. We took the underground from the airport. It was a 10-15 minute walk from the station to the Botel Albatros.

Rooms are small but no smaller than what we had stayed in during our Europe tour. The rooms are clean, nice and warm. Beautiful to wake up, look out the window over the water, feed the swans and see the snow falling.

Some of the staff at reception were very friendly others not so (but not rude). It really is just a 10-15 minute stroll to Charles Bridge and town.

Out of all the counties we visited I must say I fell in love with Czech Republic (Prague). Want so badly to go back, hopefully this time be able to have more time to explore out of the city.

B/B 0n a boat was a unique experience but enjoyable and good value for money, it is in centre of Prague which is a beautiful city but what made our holiday really special was Daniel of Cotton transport.

He was our transfer from airport also transport for trips we had taken, on one trip to Kutna Hora, he had to pop in to his mother's who invited us to stay for lunch we had a lovely time there, I shall be going back to Prague next spring so much I never got to see and will be booking Daniel again.

Flew from Newcastle, England to Prague via Easy Jet, only about £18 each way. Booked taxi in advance via Internet, driver waiting for us on time. Half hour journey through residential area (very shabby looking blocks of flats etc). Stayed actually on the River Vltava on floating hotel called Botel Albatross.

Lovely pictures shown on internet during the summer months. Disappointed that we were not allowed on outside decks. Only a handful of people staying there. Cabins were very basic and tiny but clean.

Asked for double bed but you nearly always get twin beds apparently. Ask for a starboard cabin that all have river views and are quiet. Well heated in winter. Continental breakfasts, cheese, cooked meats, bread, fresh juice, tea/coffee, all help yourself, no staff there. Adequate and for what you are paying no complaints. Meals available.

Botel situated just a short 10 minute walk from Old Town Square. Average price is £30 per room per night or $56.
