Choosing the right resort and hotel can be a bit of a gamble. This time, we were all really happy with our choice and enjoyed an excellent holiday. Oludeniz itself is a lovely place; picturesque, lively but not too crowded even in late July/early August and with plenty of... more

Nice, clean hotel located fairly centrally in Olu Deniz - about a ten minute walk from the seafront. Chalet-style layout gives a nice feel, and the hotel itself is small but well spaced out. Our room included a balcony, shower WC, air-con machine, phone and TV. A bit of... more

Nice clean hotel, good location. Our room was basic but clean and tidy. It's a short walk down the main street to the sea front, which is beautiful. The only draw back for us was the noise from the neighbouring hotel playing loud dance music on a couple of nights, however... more

Its great!!
Just got back from a 2 week stay at the Blue Lagoon Hotel- after reading previous remarks I was a little worried but found the place to be way better than what I expected. Rooms big enough but yes, storage very limited but we managed. Music turned very low or off after 12 midnight. Air conditioning quiet and TV with limited English channels. Just because there isnt a greasy Brit breakfast every morning doesnt mean its bad. You're in TURKEY! Theres cornflakes, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, tomatoes, toast, olives, juice, apple tea, coffee,- and if you dont like it then they'll do you a fry- up for a bit extra! Turkish night was ok, free for half boarders but a fee for others. Would recommend it for the food alone, big choice with soup, vegetables, chicken, lamb, (all barbecued) fruit, rice etc. Location was fine, a 5-10 minute stroll to a fantastic beach but the pool at the hotel was always clean and uncrowded with a safe little pool for kids. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice pool bar and restaurant if you dont want to go far! Mid afternoon they come round with ice creams and melon, then an hour or so after they offer coffee and fresh made cream cakes which were gorgeous! No need to mess about with your wallet, just eat and drink what you want during the day and settle up at the end of every day if you prefer. I would definitely stay here again, we had a great holiday. Sarah & Steve Mann West Yorks.
Hated it!!!!
First weeks was fine found managment rude. But enjoyed it. things started going down hill 2nd week. noise from bar area until 3am (i'm in my mid 20's and can handle late nights and loud music but this was taking the mick!) One night party in the room above till 7am complained numerous times did see bar staff but they were no good as had passed out from too much alcohol!! ended up with people in room above having fights in coridoor in their rooms. Police were called!! not a nice sight in a 'family friendly' hotel to see armed police running past you at 7am. Guests were allowed to stay we complained and from that point we cut our holiuday short by 3 days and flew home!! Cannot express how out of control things got. Think the hotel is ok as long as there are no problems as soon as there is staff will turn on you and will have no idea how to handle the situation oh by the way manager does not have a very good opinion of the British!! Would definetley go back to Olu Deniz people so friendly within resort..... idealic BUT would NOT go back to this hotel if you paid me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nonsense, believe me this hotel is woth stayıng there
We just stayed at this hotel and despıte all the opınıons about the hotel on thıs websıte ıt was a lovely stay. I do not understand why thıs people make thıs hotel look black maybe ıt ıs theır own attıtude on holıday ıf you want to see certaın thıngs ın a bad way you wıll see ıt lıke that... Besıdes the turkısh nıght ıs not 20 gbp but 10 gbp , ı wonder ıf these people stayed somewhere else..
Great hotel, great resort
Stayed at the Blue Lagoon last week and what a lovely hotel. The hotel and the grounds were immaculate. The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. Our room was basic but clean and the maid service excellent. The pool is of a good size and was always very clean. The pool bar serves nice cold draft Ephes and the staff are a good laugh. Breakfast is simple but fresh and appetising. Food at the hotel was as good as any of the restaurants in the town so if you dont want to go out you dont have to. The hotel is situated just up the road from the "main street" where all the shops and restaurants are, which then leads down to the beach. So it is not far to walk for food etc but benefits from the peace and quiet of being just outside the thick of things. I would say this hotel, and Olu Deniz, is better for couples or families with older children. Me and my husband can't say enough good things about the Blue Lagoon or Olu Deniz. It was our first visit to Turkey and it definately wont be our last.
Great Holiday
We Stayed at the Blue Lagoon Hotel Oul Deniz last July and are going back again this year. We had the time of our lives. All the staff from the manager down were very friendly they could not do enought to help us we were made very welcome. The food was excelent both for breakfast and the evening meal.We were not awear of the bar noise but our room was to the left of the bar. If we recive the same standard this year we will be very happy.
A gem of a hotel
We have just returned from two weeks at the Blue Lagoon in Olu Deniz and are seriously already considering a return trip next year. This is a small, friendly, family owned hotel towards the back of Olu Deniz - a bonus to be honest as the main strip of shops, restaurants and bars starts just a two minute walk away, but you're not on top of it, which we imagine could be quite noisy in high season. Having said that, we did experience undue noise levels from the hotel next door's bar a few nights - not helped by rowdy guests partying until the early hours. The hotel itself is extremely clean, with small-ish rooms but excellent bathrooms. Balconies are adequate and let's face it, why spend any time on there when the hotel offers a great pool area, paved in marble. And don't forget the great beach is just a pleasant 10 minute walk away. Food at the hotel was great - typical turkish breakfast that kept us going til 2pm every day when we enjoyed a kebab on the beach! Buffet was good value and well presented and the Turkish Night excellent value and good clean fun. This hotel's main asset is its staff. Every person we came into contact with was friendly, happy and helpful - more than can be said of some larger famous name hotels around the world (and we do know as we did a 5 star world trip in January this year). Give the Blue Lagoon a go - we think you'll enjoy it, we definitely did.
unfriendly and rude
The Hotel itself is ok, small rooms but sufficent for your needs. There is no entertainment apart from a very poor Turkish Night that lasted 45 min and cost £20.00 each. The main problem is the unfriendly staff especially the receptionist, the owner walks around daily with a snarl on his face shouting orders to his staff who look petrified of him, he never talks to anyone. The receptionists are so unhelpful and rude (its seems once they have money) just get on with it, so many people complained whist we were there im amazed there was not a mass walkout. I would definatley go back to Turkey but to another hotel and most of the guests there agreed.
3*.. R u sure?!
Shocking shocking shocking. I read reviews of this hotel after having booked it and before i left and was a little put off but assumed, sorry hoped, that they had been written by ageing (sorry)! moaners unused to a little noise. I am a 23 year old girl who wanted a nice relaxed week away with my boyfriend. No chance i'm afraid. I could harp on but most problems have been covered by others on this review site so i'll put it briefly; how small the rooms are, unacceptably loud music from morn til about 1.30-no point trying to read a book with the noise, no storage space AT ALL, bad lighting-we had to get dressed to go out in the evening before it got dark or we'd not be able to see, the breakfasts were very basic, tiny balcony, the windows are bolted open so you cant shut out any of the noise..it goes on. To sum it up it seemed that the hotel had financially cut every corner it possibly could to make as much money out of tourists as poss. What a shame. I purposely did not want to stay in a budget hotel this year as is was my only holiday abroad from a usually quite hectic life and i wanted to relax. How anyone could award this hotel 3 stars is beyond me. The resort, on the other hand, was nice, a bit commercial and english, which isnt really what i asked for (well done Thomas Cook, top marks)! but once you got over that and found the right places to go (you can call a number for a gorgeous sandy beach on the lagoon and they pick you up for free which is really nice) then it is just fine. We did go paragliding despite the rep advising against it (well they ARE given comission to sell the rival but much safer microlighting)! And i would recommend it to everyone. We flew with Seaside Tours who seemed more than competent and enjoyed every minute of it. We also went on the jeep tour which, despite having a few naff cringey moments was in fact a great way to see bits of Turkey you might not otherwise bother with. Youre out from 9 til 9 so its a long day and well worth it. All in all i would recommend Olu Deniz to people wanting stunning scenery ( the surrounding mountains are gorgeous) and long lazy beach days, although if you are wanting somewhere more cultural than brits abroad it might not be for you. Lots to do for families aswell. If like me you are reading this after having booked at the Blue lagoon, dont worry, prepare yourself and FYI they sell ear plugs in the supermarket on the way down to the beach!
Small rooms lack of storage space
Blue Lagoon hotel was not ideally suited to us. The rooms were small and there was hardly any storage space-not one drawer. The balcolny was microscpic and mini fridge which we paid an additional £10 a week for was tiny and useless. Also there was a distinct lack of lights in the room which made it difficult in the evening. The air condoitioning was good and the bathroom has been modernised. the buffet breakfast was alright but choice was limited and it did not vary much any day. The rooms overlooking the pool suffered from noise from the pool bar which stayed open at night until the last guests left. The hotel was at the back of the resort and was a good 15 minute walk to the sea front. To sunmmarise we would have done better to choose alternative accommodation in this resort where we would have got better value
Good Value, Poor Breakfasts
The Blue Lagoon hotel is situated in a quiet area of Olu Deniz. it is a lot smaller tham many of the hotels in the area but a lot better for it, We thought the rooms were more than an adequate, a reasonable swimming pool and friendly staff. Don't expect much for breakfast as part of the package as it extremely small and basic. You can buy a cooked breakfast but this pushes up the price. Overall we were very happy with this accommodation and it is probably more suited to couples than families.
