We chose Ibiza this year as a change from our usual desitination. Last time I was in Ibiza was in 2004 and then it was in San Antonio. What a beautiful place Santa Eulalia . As others have said, it is a very upmarket resort with some lovely places to eat, super chilled bars... more

We had a great time at this hotel, it is very clean and a nice friendly place. The only problem that we found was that the walls are very thin and you get lots of noise from next door. We did not see the entertainment as there was lots to see in the resort. There was no daytime entertainment but the bar was very good!! Will return again.

This Hotel is Excellent, the resort is lovely and you have most things within walking distance. It is ideal for all ages from the young right through to the older ones of us. There are 2 nightclubs but both are very well managed and even late at night make little noise.... more

Santa Eulalia is a lovely resort - the best on Ibiza. Hotel Sol Ibiza is lovely but the walls are paper-thin. You can even hear snoring from the next room!! We had noisy people next to us and after three nights (up to 3.30am) they moved us to a new room. The food is... more

Relax in blissful surroundings
We arrived first week in october and found the hotel and the staff fantastic. Our last holiday was to a five star hotel and we were a bit worried that the 4 star sol may be a big disappointment. But it was not, it was extremely clean, in a beautiful location . we lay out in the gardens listening to the waves crashing through the day and felt truely relaxed. The hotel was fairly quiet although by the weekend a lot of spanish people checked in and it was busier. This was no problem though, there are plenty sunloungers to go round and the chap at the pool provides more should they be needed. There is a strict no 'towels on loungers' rule which really helps! We took our teenage daughter and were worried when we realised most of guests of an older age, but she was happy lounging by pool and passing the time at night on the hotels interent facilities! this was a god send!!! Staff were helpful and friendly and seemed to go out of their way to get to know the guests. We were worried about thin walls reading the reviews and although i have to admit they were thin,to be really honest we were not particularly bothered by noise. most guests were only in rooms in morning , and the noise of them getting up helped us get up and get out! and in the evening we only in our room to sleep and after all the walking and fresh air we had no probs! sometimes we could hear guests next door flushing the loo through the night etc and im sure they heard us but perhaps we were lucky but walking and slight banging along with the shower was all we heard and as i say this really didnt bother us as we were either showering at same time or heading out! If you very light sleeper though it may be of particular bother to you. we only seemed to have people next to us on one side so again i think we were lucky! The resort was beautiful as was the short stroll to it.
Relaxed stay at the Sol Ibiza
My wife and I just returned from 10 days at the Sol Ibiza from 29th Sept to 9th Oct and we had a great time. Hotel very nice and had everything we were looking for a relaxing break. Food very nice and varied. Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms very clean and tidy. Have to mention Mangos bar which is about a 5-10 minute walk along the water side from the hotel, superb spot for lunch, relaxation and a beer and is a sun trap. At night we went into Santa Eulalia and tried out bars in town, we are in our early 30's so go to sample nightlife when on holiday as well. Nice place and some good bars (Queen Vic does nice pint of Tennents!!). Next time we go would go a wee bit earlier in the season when it's busier but no complaints as we were after slightly quieter holiday this time.
Better than expected
Better than expected after reading negative comments on the internet. We stayed at the Sol Elite for 1 week flying to Ibiza Sunday 1st October. The hotel as not very busy and had a mixture of Spanish, German and mature British couples. We are a couple of early 40. When we arrived by taxi transfer the receptionist let us pick our room which was on the 5th floor at the end of the corridor so we had little or no noise from above or below. The room was very clean, big double bed and large bathroom, balcony and seaview. We were able to sunbathe all day on the balcony without lying around the pool area. The hotel is not positioned too far away on a headland. A walk out of the hotel across the car park and the marina is there with a paved promenade to walk along all the way around the front of the resort. Lots of shops to buy fashionable clothes, numerous supermarkets but lots of little restaurants to eat at so there is no need to do half board at any hotel. The food in the hotel was ample choice espically fish fried fresh every night, lots of salads, fruit and puddings but no coffee or tea with the meal. The weather was very hot 30C for most of the week. We had taken lots of jumpers after reading it was cold in July but we didn't need any thick clothing it was too hot. Easy to travel around by bus just walk to the bus station in the centre of town and pay at the office, there is even a toilet to use free of charge. 25 minutes on the bus to Ibiza town but a taxi back cost 19 euros. Overall we had a good holiday . A good place to go for a rest in an adaquate hotel with good facilities, prompt staff and efficient 4 star hotel in an area not dominated by clubs and pubs with brashy tacky holiday junk and union jacks everywhere.
Frightened to go to sleep
Just returned from a week long stay at the Sol Ibiza (24th Sept - 1st Oct). The hotel has good facilities, staff efficient and friendly, rooms good and clean. Good selection and quality of food. Gym, sauna, jacuzzi & swimming pools all good. Entertainment good, as were planned activities. Good location, the sea view from the balcony was probably one of the best that we have ever had. The only major problem as highlighted by other guests are the paper thin walls. Sound proofing was very poor. Five nights in a row the neighbours bangedd on the wall due to my snoring, I was frightened to fall asleep. I must mention that the same neighbours returned to their room at 0130am in the morning and woke us up with their noise, but we were not that inconsiderate to bang on the walls. Do these people really think that the noise is only one way. Other guests we spoke to all said that the noise was terrible, one lady woke up in the middle of the night in a panic as she thought someone was beside her bed drinking, but it was actually someone in the next room. The level of sound proofing has to be witnessed to believed.
Nice Hotel
The hotel itself is very clean and tidy. The room was roomy enough for our needs and spotlessly clean too. I must gripe about the paper thin walls. You can hear everything even to the switch being put on for a kettle, clip clopping of shoes back and forth it drove me nuts. I could even tell you the conversation that the guests in the next room had! Food was well varied not always enjoyable a times, lovely fresh baked bread they do try hard to cater for all. We went out to eat one evening to a resturant called Mama Rosa (The Gallery) its in what the locals call Resturant Street in town. Was really lovely, a little expensive but worth the good meal. The walk to the marina is about 10 minutes which is lovely. We usually went after dinner and sat and had a few drinks in one of the many bars and resturants. The hotel is very slow paced and quite, suited for couples Overall had a nice stay here other than the noisey guests next door and above us. I wouldn't stay here again for that reason only.
Relax at the Sol Ibiza
Lovely hotel. Rooms very bright, lots of mirrors to create look of spaciousness, although they weren't that big. Paper thin walls was the only negative. Staff polite and helpful. Cleanliness very good. Food choice was very good local, English, German, Italian menu. Atmosphere was very relaxing, pool a decent size with freshwater (not sea water pool). Short walk to marina approx. 10 mins max) Lots of bars and restaurants at marina and further along at St Eulalia. No loud clubs. Hippie market was worth a visit albeit short, due to crowds, watch out for pushchairs running over feet, not parents' fault but due to excessive crowds difficult to manouvre. Good ferry service at St Eulalia. Fery goes to Ibiza town, Cala Llonga, Es Cana and others. Prices reasonable. Beach was not very nice at Es Cana, very, very crowded, more seaweed than sand, small charge for use of sunbeds and parasols. Beach appeared much cleaner at St Eulalia but very small. Front of hotel overlooked a building site but there was no noisy building construction going on. Unless you happened to be very unfortunate and have a front view room the views are glorious overlooking the med. Would recommend as a very relaxing break at this hotel with lots of sun therapy, swimming and walking (and eating and drinking).
Average hotel for the four stars it has been rated.
The hotel was clean with the majority of the staff being friendly & welcoming. Rooms were adequately furnished although the walls were paper thin & allowed the noise of snoring and chatter to be easily transmitted through the walls. Air conditioning to the rooms enabled a cooler environment at the end of the day in the sun & the empty fridge allowed us to store our own supplies of water. The restaurant was well supplied with a variation of food types but became a rather predictable menu by the end our of week stay. The pool area was clean and there was no difficulty in obtaining sun beds which are free and daily clean pool towels available for a refundable deposit. The short walk to the beautiful beaches and marina area proved to be an enjoyment with no crowds of teenagers. This particular resort is more family orientated or for those who want a more peaceful break. Overall we experienced a relaxing week away.
Excellent Hotel
This is my 2nd visit to the sol Ibiza. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for the first week of August. The weather was lovely. The managment and and all other staff were very friendly, and were always willing and on hand to help. We are both in our early 20's (21 & 22) As we are not the type for going out and clubbing we wanted to just be able to relax, which we were able to do. The pool, and pool bar were always spotlessly clean, as were all the rooms and restaraunt, which also catered for the fussiest of easters!!
Proceed with Caution
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand, I felt that the staff was pretty accomodating, and the rooms were of decent size, the views of the Sea from the hotel were amazing, and the location was peaceful. However, and this is written from an American's perspective...the beds were HARD. In fact, the bed was so hard, I had to purchase a swim float to place on the bed to sleep on for our 6 night stay. In speaking with many of the English who stayed here, this was actuall their preference, so if a hard bed is to your likely you will be quite pleased. The other disappointment for me was the food. They certainly attempted to appeal to the masses, but in some ways I feel they tried to provide to many choices, and never really did a great job with any of them. The fish tasted "fishy" to me, but that was my experience even in Barcelona..so cannot really blame this on the hotel. Just felt, the quality of food could be higher. Still, most nights we were able to find something we enjoiyed. The pool was wonderful and the Sea was absolutely beautiful The walk to the marina was short and was a great way to spend an evening. We met wonderful people there. There was one wait person in the restaurant who was very rude to the friends we had made, and it didn't appear that management did much to address her attitude.
Loved It At The Sol Ibiza
The Moores 55+ age group July 06 1 week Much more than expected, Food excellent, Hotel Very Clean in all areas,Highly recomended, Staff very helpful,Really relaxing holiday,Recomend evening stroll around marina or town, Feels very safe area. Definately above a 4star. Want to go again as soon as possible. Evening entertainment was a little week. St Eulalia very nice area easy to walk around & shops offer varied range of goods.
