Sol Pinet Playa was a wonderful place to stay. It is about a 20 minute walk to the main party part of San Antonio. This meant that the noise level was fairly low and there were more Spanish speaking people to practice my spanish on!! The hotel has a great pool and its own beach, so you can sunbathe in peace. All the staff were extremely helpful.

San Antonio is not a place to bring the kids ordinarily, but this part of the town was perfect. The little restaurants around the hotel were all reasonably priced, as were the shops.

The taxi from the airport is quite expensive (20-30 euros) so if you can organise a bus then it saves a lot of money.

If you don't want to walk the 20 minutes to the main clubbing area, then as a cheaper alternative, there are water taxis only costing a couple of euros.

I would recommend it if you don't mind a touristy, tacky holiday.

Having been moved here from Es Cana due to overbooking we were not very happy, and then to find that most of guests were Spanish served only to fill us with dread. However hotel was first class, rooms were clean and tidy. Situated right on the beach plenty of room around pool. Entertainments staff during day and night were simply the best and as one of very few Brits staying here made us feel very welcome, worked really hard to ensure everyone was catered for. Bar / restaurant staff were very pleasant, cheerful and helpful.

Food was varied and something for all tastes even if a bit slanted towards a continental style.

Would definitely visit again but would probably book direct next time. At the end of 2 weeks realised we had not seen a Tour rep and it didn't bother us at all.

When we arrived at the hotel we were left at reception with no help from the holiday rep when booking in it was quite difficult as the staff didn’t speak any English, we booked in and went to our room were the room was to a nice standard but the air conditioning only blew on to the patio doors which had no effect in the room and in high season and very hot weather you expect it to be working when you have paid for it.

When we booked the holiday we were not told that it is occupied mainly by Spanish guests which then all the food and entertainment is centred around them, this made us feel quite uncomfortable so we spoke to the rep and the reply we got back was well what do you want me to do about it this is not what you want to hear when you are somewhere you are not enjoying for two weeks the rep failed to help us and we were left to make the best of it.
