Barbados Apartments

If visiting Gran Canaria, I wouldn’t advise to stay anywhere else than Barbados Apartments. For young groups who go away it is perfect! I can't stress to you how much you should go here!!!
The room was complete perfection, it fit 6 girls and everything ran smoothly, we never ran out of hot water, which is a surprise with 6 girls having 2 showers a day! The location is perfect, next to shops, a beautiful Italian restaurant and a few bars!!!!
The shopping centre is just round the corner and the main bars are a 5 mins walk away!!!! Days and nights were just as wicked at the beach which is also a 5 mins walk!!!! This holiday was the best ever and the Barbados Apartments assisted us in making the holiday so enjoyable!
Tour operators were not pushy with us either so everyone was happy!!! Seriously guys, don't hesitate visiting here! You will have the time of your life!!!! Xxxxxxx

Arrived back from Gran Can on Tuesday, and am finally getting back into my normal life!
The Barbados apartments suited us perfectly (2 males 21, 22 + 1 female 23). Although we incurred a occupancy supplement from our tour operator for not filling the apartment it was worth it as it meant we each had our own sleeping area (Handy when after a few drinks you decide to bring company back!).
The apartment was extremely clean, and was kept that way by the maids, which is impressive given our skills of spreading clothing across the place!
The pools were great - one pool is quieter, whereas the other has a bar which also does food, and also has music. This pool was the hub of our holiday - be sure to visit the pool bar which is run by 'H', who is a total riot!
If you like the beach it is walk-able (about 10-15mins walk), or you can get a taxi for about 3 euro. We decided after visiting that the pool was much more convenient!
Nightlife-wise the Barbados is extremely handy - the Yumbo is literally around the corner, or if that isn’t your scene the Kasbah centre is walk-able or a 2.50 euro taxi ride. Other centres are also close, but we didn’t manage to explore them all.
There are a number of restaurants around the area - British bulldog - pub which does food as well as drinks is great for hang-over food, and there is also a really nice Italian restaurant across the road, and a Chinese nearby.
Our only niggle is that our neighbours were not too happy with us - they were apparently there for the sun and nothing else. They awoke us one morning with the complaint 'Sie machen Boom-Boom-Boom am Morgen!'
However apart from this minor hiccup we had a great stay, and I would recommend the Barbados to anybody wanting an affordable place to stay, which is close to all the places to go out.

I have to say that I have never been self catering anywhere before but in need of a rest I booked this last minute break to the lovely Playa Del Ingles and stayed at the above named apartments. I was expecting dirt, cockroaches and layabouts.
When I arrived I was surprised, the entrance is off the main road, but the back and the pool are well away from it and I can honestly say that I was not disturbed by any noise. The pool itself is cold but is spotless clean and I spent much of my time in there.
The accommodation is basic, but is all you would expect from S/C. The room was spotless clean and the maids cleaned I think 5 out of the 7 days I was there. Sheets and towels were changed regular. The maids keep themselves to themselves but if you let on to them they always smile and can be heard singing in the corridors most days.
The Barbados apartments are across the road from the Yumbo centre, this is predominantly a gay place by evening, not that there is anything wrong with this, I am myself. However if you are a prude or still stuck in the 1800s maybe steer clear as we wouldn’t want your eyes opening now would we. For anyone who is open minded it is a brilliant night out, a great mix of cabaret bars where you and the whole family are welcome to be ripped to shreds by the drag artists on the ground floor to the over 18s clubs and bars of the top level. All of the guys are friendly and there is always plenty of family fun as well as the gays so you wont feel left out.
All in all I can say that I was very pleased with the holiday and would recommend the Barbados for a cheap yet splendid place to stay.

We were 4 guys staying in a two bedrooms apartment at Barbados Apartments. The apartment was a good size, clean and had all the facilities we needed for a week.
It was also cleaned and had the towels replaced a few times a week. Watch out for the apartment’s security though, we got threatened with having the Police being called because apparently we made a lot of noise on our last night there and they knocked on our door twice between 05:00 and 06:00 in the morning. Check out the Argentinean restaurant that’s almost across the road from the apartments...they serve the best steak ever and the Italian restaurant near it is also pretty good.
Don’t know what its like in high season, but when its not that busy bars tend to pay girls to sit there, to bring in the guys. They get paid €15-20 per night and generally looked bored out of their minds. Some of them are OK to talk to, but most will be unable or unwilling to leave the bar until it closes. Most of the time they work in pairs. So bear that in mind.
The Plaza is annoying and full of people trying to get you into mostly rubbish bars, Kasbah is OK but closes too early and the Irish Centre is normally pretty good.
