Great hotel in a great location. Slap bang in the middle of the strip and right opposite the Bellagio...if you’re lucky enough you may even get a view of the fountains as we did, magical. Hotel is next door to the Paris hotel and is connected via a walkway of shops and... more

Las Vegas is the City with everything. My husband and I took our 3rd holiday there in April 2005. Whatever you’re into, Las Vegas has it all and is definitely worth at least one visit. If you like lying on a beach, one of the strip hotels can offer this, if you like... more

We travelled to Las Vegas on a Virgin flight (the only direct flight available, taking just over 10 hours). Our hotel was Ballys and we were there for a week. This is a large hotel situated on ‘The Strip’ in a central location. Our room was spacious with two double... more

Bally's, 11/23/03 - 11/26/03.
It was our first time in Vegas. Just because we were arriving on Saturday, we had to spend the first night off-strip in Quality Inn. The hotel was average, the casino - terrible. Weird-looking people. What can you say? It was cheap. Bally's turned out to be ok. We checked-in early, about 12:30 pm on Sunday. The wait wasn't long, but there were a lot of people on the casino wandering around. I got a good deal on room rate, $45 per night, but just because it was already winter. Front desk offered to $20 extra for renovated room. We didn't do it and I didn't do $20 trick (people talk about it a lot in Las Vegas forums), so I don't know if it work at Bally's. Anyway, we got a room on the 7th floor in the north tower, which wasn't bad. There were two queen beds, a table, couple chairs. Bottled water costs $4.50 per bottle, which is madness, I think! The only place we ate at Bally's was Nosh cafe: good sandwiches, coffee, pastries. Spent some time in the Indigo lounge the first night, because we got two-for-one-drink coupon. The lounge was nice, performance was good! Tried buffet at Monte-Carlo. Nothing special for $15.00 for dinner. Then found nice food court in MGM-Grand property (I think), which was cheap and good (right on the Strip). The casino in Bally's was ok. We won couple times. I personally saw one guy won on $1 slot machine $1000. We didn't win that much though. Roulette : min - $5. Blackjack : min $10. Slots machines : 1c, 5c, 25c, 50c, $1, $2, $5, $10. Mostly people sit at 25c and $1 machines. I didn't see anyone at $10 machine. Cocktail waitresses were walking around all the time, though I think they tend to walk more around roulette and blackjack tables. So, if you are nice and tip them generously, they will be back more often. Bally's connects to Paris, so it's really easy to walk between two hotels. So, overall Bally's seemed ok. But as we were visiting the hotel after the hotel, we saw that Bally's lacks the theme, but some people prefer that, I guess. Next time I will be staying somewhere else, just because I want to try something different. But I highly recomment Bally's to anybody.
Nice place
I just returned from Bally's. It's a very nice place, good location good size room and everyone was very polite (even when my son threw up in their lobby). My only complaint was I wish there was some decent parking, you HAVE to use Valet or it will take you forever to get to your room. Also would have enjoyed some more food options, but that's not a big deal. This was my first time in Vegas, and I can't say I was disappointed at all.
Good room, good price, all around good value.
My girlfriend and I visited Bally's back in September for 3 nights. This was our first time in Vegas so I wanted a place that was right in the middle of everything and fortunately Bally's was it. We paid $62 per night and was very comfortable at Bally's. I think I had read every review on here twice before going and with some of them I was starting to get a little worried however we found everyone and everything to be on par or above with what we paid for our room. We were on the north side 20 floors up with a nice view of the Flamingo and Imperial Palace and also a glimpse of Ceasars. I felt as though the pool area was a little crowded but well taken care of. Some of the staff was very nice and s there were some that wasn't. I read reviews after reviews about Las Vegas Buffets and everyone you read said that Bellagio, Rio, or Aladdins Spice Market buffet were the best. Of those we only tried Bellagio's and Bally's Big Kitchen buffet and we felt as though Bally's was just as good for about $8 cheaper. I'm not in the casino a lot but I traversed through many of them throughout our stay and I felt as though Bally's was one of the easiest ones to move about in (just the right size). Bally's is a simple place thats not too (themed up). I will stay somewhere else the next only because I am a fan of trying something new and different on every vacation. This is a very nice hotel that I would recommend time and again for its simplicity and value.
Not too shabby!
Stayed at Bally's this past June and I must say it was not that bad. The location was perfect and could not be beat for the price. The room was satisfactory, actually quite large. The view left much to be desired unless you are really into parking lots! Room service is necessary if you want morning coffee and be prepared to wait about a half hour. My wife and I are going back in two weeks and I am giving Bally's another shot.
Good time at Bally's
My wife and I just got back from Bally's yesterday after a quick weekend jaunt. Without regard to the gamling results, this is what we thought of Bally's - a great time. The service was friendly, we were able to check in early on a Sat., which I thought would be tough after reading all these reviews and combine that with a sold out hotel, I thought we were in trouble. No problem. We had to wait about an hour, but still got in 2 hours before stated check in time. Room (go for the deluxe room and pay the extra $20 a night! Come on, people were dropping $20 on gambling like it was paper anyway!) was clean and nicely furnished in addition to being large enough for an extra couch and office desk area. Housekeeping was friendly, bellmen were friendly, and the topper, security were friendly. I missed my wakeup call (had to bet NFL early Sun AM!) and when I returned to the room, 2 security men were ready to open my room to make sure I was alive and well since I missed answering the phone. A courtesy check they said. As soon as they saw I was ok, they left. Coffee shop comment is true, needs work. Sports book is excellent. Overall gaming is tight, but we are talking Vegas, right? They didn't build all those expensive hotels on their money!! Go to Vegas for the excitement, not for returning richer, seemed like a rarity to me!!
Wonderful Experience!
My girlfreind and I were celebrating our two year anniversary of dating. We decided to visit Vegas to spend a few nights at Bally's. We visited in early Novemeber and booked the hotel room a month before our departure for $59 per night at the hotel website. Our flight arrived Vegas at midnight pacific time, so we arrived at the hotel at about 12:30 AM. Upon check-in the gentleman assisting us told us that they could not fullfil our non-smoking king room request so he automatically put us in a newly remodeled smoking king room for no additional cost whatsoever! We were a bit skeptical because we are not smokers, but after he had showed us a picture of the actual room, we figured it was worth the shot. Our room was situated on the 23rd floor. Once we exited the elevator the whole hallway had no smoke odors of any kind. This was kind of surprising, but the whole floor level was so new that you couldn't even detect any smoke smells. Upon entering our room we were so blown away on how beautiful and spacious it was. The room had a brand-new type of smell, no cigarettes! New furnishings, king bed, a sofa to pass out on, and marbled bathroom with marbled shower. The shower had massage jets where you can adjust the setting for the water pressure. Lots of nice water pressure. The room also was equiped with a marble top desk. Great lighting in the room as well. All in all, this was my fifth time in Vegas and before I've stayed at NY NY, Luxor, Excalibur, and Hard Rock, but the nicest room I'd ever stayed in has to be the Bally's. Absolutely awesome! We also got a book with 500 dollars of coupon values good for Park-Place properties. Hey, for 59 bucks a night I couldn't complain with what we got!
Great Location, Good Hotel
Stayed here 11/5-11/9 for the first time in many years. Good hotel in an enviable center-strip location within walking or monorail distance from most locations ( a real plus with Vegas traffic). Room size way above average. Sound-proofing only fair. Coffee-shop could use a little help, but other restaurants are good. Casino a bit drab and BJ odds of 6/5 at some tables an absolute rip-off. Toilet paper rough and hard on the tush. All in all though, an excellent value for the money.
Never again
Booked a 5 night stay (11/03/03 through 11/08/03) at Bally's due to their "Four Star" rating - this must be on a scale of 1 to 20. Upon entering the room the accommodations seemed adequate for the price but upon closer inspection the room was terrible. Our "view room" had a wonderful view overlooking the parking garage and mechanical equipment on the roof below. The carpet was filthy, the bedding was worn and had tears, broken/missing drapery pulls, the nightstand and all lighting fixtures were covered with dust during our entire stay, and the bathroom was a disaster. Peeling paint, broken and missing grout, dried shaving cream on the front of the cabinetry from a previous occupant, a burned toilet seat from a previous guest (yes, we are smokers), heavy nicotine residue on the ceilings from previous occupants (easily cleanable but housekeeping is very lax), the shower curtain did nothing to keep water in the tub and the marble floor was soaking wet when you stepped out of the shower (very slick and dangerous). Housekeeping ignored our room for 2 days and we had to call and register a complaint and request clean towels, toilet tissue, etc (no apology offered by the hotel). The majority of the staff seems to have taken special training on rudeness and how to effectively ignore their guests. There are no telephone books in the room with the exception of local residential listings and it is impossible to obtain a business telephone number from the hotel operator. Per instructions in the "information" book located in the room, we contacted the bell captain's desk to make arrangements for renting 3 limos to attend a wedding outside of town. We were erroneously directed to the VIP service desk in the hotel lobby. Rather than call the VIP desk, we decided to go there in person to make the necessary arrangements only to be told that they could not help us as we did not hold a "Players" card. The front desk staff were curt and almost insulting when asked for information. We decided to eat breakfast at the "Big Kitchen Buffet". The mirrors that line the walls at the escalator were absolutely filthy. Even though we arrived at the buffet shortly after it began, the food was either luke-warm or completely cold, and the taste was very bland. The offerings were also quite limited when compared to other buffets located throughout the strip. The waitress, however, was friendly and prompt but this could not make up for the poor quality and taste of the food. It seems that unless you hold a "Players" card from Park Place you are not entitled to decent service at their establishments. When we travel we do expect a certain level of courtesty and professionalism from the staff and management of the hotels that we stay in but after our experience at Bally's, we will never again patronize any facility affiliated with Park Place.
A Great Place To Stay
My husband and I just returned from a 3 day trip to Las vegas, our 8th trip there in 4 years. This time we stayed at Ballys. We really liked it. The service is second-to-none. Room service, no matter what time is lightening fast, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Also the beds were comfortable. (A hard find anymore.) We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice room at a very reasonable rate.
Excellent front desk service by Assistant Manager named Lexy.
Our last stay at Bally's was excellent from the time we checked in and were assisted by the Assistant Hotel Manager, Lexy Kearns who was very professional and courteous, until our departure. We had a room with a huge jacuzzi tub on an elevated platform in it and the view was wonderful. Amenities were above average and restaurants were great.I would recommend this hotel property and if possible to get a renovated room. I cannot give enough praise to Ms. Kearns and her apparent mastery of hospitality management.
