Great hotel in a great location. Slap bang in the middle of the strip and right opposite the Bellagio...if you’re lucky enough you may even get a view of the fountains as we did, magical.
Hotel is next door to the Paris hotel and is connected via a walkway of shops and bars.so two hotels in one.
On our first night we ordered and paid for a round of drinks, our second round were complimentary as we had decided to have a play on the screens situated around the bar...so as long as you you are gambling your drinks are free...just make sure you tip or they wont approach you again.
Rooms were very spacious and clean. Ice machine and drink machine on every floor.
Cafe and restaurants open for breakfast and prices very reasonable. Lots to see and do in every hotel on the strip.
Shows are expensive and can get booked up so pre book them where possible. Went to see Jubilee show in Ballys and really enjoyed it.
Worth a visit even if to just experience the Vegas showgirls.

Las Vegas is the City with...

Las Vegas is the City with everything. My husband and I took our 3rd holiday there in April 2005.
Whatever you’re into, Las Vegas has it all and is definitely worth at least one visit. If you like lying on a beach, one of the strip hotels can offer this, if you like cultural holidays, you can take a tour out to a traditional Indian reserve and spend a few days learning about their way of life, or you can take a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon and learn all about Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam and how Las Vegas became the way it is today.
There’s exhibitions, a hotel with a circus, roller coasters, skiing, nightclubs, designer shops, sports and of course plenty of gambling and so much more. Las Vegas simply cannot be understood or believed until you step off that plane and see the magnificent hotels on the strip for yourself.
We have stayed in the Flamingo, the Tropicana and Ballys and all were fantastic. This August we will be staying at the Luxor, the famous pyramid shaped hotel.
Every holiday we book, we book with Expedia, there is no better, faster, value for money way to get the holiday you are looking for.
If I can offer any advice on travelling to Las Vegas it would be: (i) the summer months are extremely hot in Las Vegas, sometimes unbearably so however, this means that there are also very cheap deals during the summer months. I would recommend that April/May is the best time to go (ii) coupons for free drinks/food/gambling chips/shows are everywhere in Las Vegas, take advantage of them. (iii) don’t bother with Downtown and the Fremont Street Experience - it’s not worth it and finally (iv) use the monorail to get from one end of the strip to the next !

We travelled to Las Vegas on a Virgin...

We travelled to Las Vegas on a Virgin flight (the only direct flight available, taking just over 10 hours). Our hotel was Ballys and we were there for a week.
This is a large hotel situated on ‘The Strip’ in a central location. Our room was spacious with two double beds. The TV was huge and had a computer keyboard on top and by the window there was a table and chairs.
The bathroom had a marble effect and had a large sink area. The bath/shower area contained a pull across screen.
The lobby area was the check in area and casino. There’s over 1,800 kind’s slot machines here to take your fancy in this 67,000 sq feet casino.
There’s also poker, blackjack, craps and roulette among other games or you can place a bet on your favourite sports game.
There are many restaurants situated in the hotel. Three that we tried were the Kitchen Buffet which is open from 7am - 2pm then 4-10 pm. Nosh is a glorified coffee house which does get busy. It sells snacks such as bagels, muffins and sandwiches, as well as fancy coffees. Everything’s around $3. Open from 6am to 2pm. Finally the Sidewalk Café – full meals, snacks and salads are served. This one’s open 24 hours and it has a vast menu. There are usually queues but you are usually seated within about 10 minutes of arrival.

There are over 20 shops including souvenirs, jewellery, clothes, and confectionery, all located in the lobby area.

If you want a rest from the gambling, there are ample other facilities dotted around the hotel such as a swimming pool, spa, tennis and even golf. Of course the hotel also caters for weddings and has a business centre with convention rooms of 175,000 sq feet. There are 43 meeting rooms and two ballrooms.
A monorail carries you to other hotels, racking up 4 miles in 14 minutes. $3 ride one way (but was closed while I was there).

Naturally there’s also a star studded show featured at Bally’s. At the moment the show is ‘Jubilee’ and features gorgeous showgirls in skimpy costumes and a few strategically placed rhinestones.
There are restrooms located at both ends of the casino in the north and south tower. Public telephones are also plentiful, with private booths up the escalator by the south tower to ensure quiet time away from the bustling lobby/casino area.
In the lobby you can board a moving walkway which is a good way to keep out of the direct sunlight and this takes you onto the Strip. One can easily get to the Bellagio opposite this way, or across Flamingo Road towards Caesars Palace, which is also very close.
Ballys does also cater for the handicapped and has 37 rooms available.
Our view from the room was spectacular. We could see both the Paris hotel and the Bellagio opposite (and their dancing fountains). We could also see far up The Strip to the MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, New York New York, Excalibur, Aladdin, and those further away such as the Luxor and Mandalay Bay!
Bally’s is not a ‘themed’ casino and is fairly low key compared to some of the larger and more boisterous casinos. It is in an excellent location as most of the casinos can be walked to from here, there are readily available taxis outside and a shopping mall not too far away. Staff were always friendly and helpful and gave us maps and information when asked. We enjoyed our stay immensely! Highly recommended.
