Nana Beach Hotel Reviews
" We stayed in the Nana Beach Hotel... "
Submitted By: Mrs L C Clark
We stayed in the Nana Beach Hotel this September and had a wonderful time. We are a family of 5 including Grandparents, Parents and a five year old.
Would have given 10/10 for this but for the lack of evening adult entertainment. The shows put on by the animators were aimed at families and were such a laugh - even though we couldn't understand the German speaking show we still enjoyed it hugely. The amphitheatre near reception hosted the Italian/British animators and the little bit of translation helped a lot. Could not fault the Italian team of animators who made our 5 year old grandson's holiday. They made such a fuss of him - probably because he was very much in the minority there being very few English families staying in Nana Beach. We did not find this a problem but were worried on account of our grandson - needn't have worried. The Italian animators all spoke excellent English.
Can't really fault this hotel in any way at all - accommodation is a little dated but spotlessly clean, maid in every day, sheets and towels changed every other day. The rest of the hotel was immaculate.
Only drawback was the choice of evening entertainment (other than the family shows) was the Panorama Bar with a Greek type Richard Clayderman (yawn) or the Dionysus Music Bar which mostly played bump, bump, bump music, but the barmen were so very friendly it made up for this. If you were a couple of say 40 something’s you would be disappointed in the evenings. Food - excellent (can really recommend the Greek restaurant and the Italian restaurants (which you book for separately - but don't have to pay). Staff in this hotel are the friendliest I have come across in my travels.
Stalis is a 15 minute stroll away and 6 euros in a taxi and Hersonissos is just a little further in the opposite direction, roughly 8 - 10 euros in a taxi.
All in all a great choice for an all inclusive break, has a real cosmopolitan feel with all the different nationalities.

" We stayed here in October this year... "
Submitted By: Mrs K Nicholas
We stayed here in October this year for two weeks. It was two weeks of sheer bliss. The staff at the hotel were just fantastic and they went out of their way to be helpful. The food, oh the food, so much choice and so many restaurants to choose from. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The grounds at the hotel were so well kept and the smell of the plants was lovely. Again as previously written there are very few English people staying here but that was just great.
We met couples from Tasmania, Bavaria, Holland, Italy and Denmark and just a two English couples. It was our anniversary while we were out there and my husband ordered a bottle of champagne and it was sent to our table with a large cake! Oh the diet! Next year we are going again but this time there are going to be 7 of us in all! Roll on next summer.

" Having just returned from a week’s... "
Submitted By: Mrs L Walsh
Having just returned from a week’s holiday staying at the Nana Beach in Hersonissos Crete, I felt that I just had to post a review about this Hotel and it’s facilities.
As a large Party including 7 adults, 3 children and 1 infant we searched for a hotel that would accommodate all of our needs. The Nana Beach was simply perfect.
When we arrived at the Nana Beach, in the early hours of the morning, we were greeted with food and drink and made extremely welcome. Due to the time of the night we arrived at the hotel it was a shock to see sheer size of the hotel by day. What a beautiful setting!! The “Nana” (as the locals call it) is right on the beach with it’s very well kept gardens, 9 swimming pools, terraces with sunbeds and even a church.
There is so much to see and do and you don’t even need to leave the hotel complex.
The food is excellent and has numerous restaurants and snack bars to try - The Greek Taverna, Zorba’s, the Italian Restaurant, Firenze and Poseidon, the Fish Restaurant are a definite must! Ice Cream is always available and in the afternoon cake is served
There are bars everywhere within the complex and whatever your tipple (alcoholic or not, branded and local) you are sure to find it at the Nana! The cocktails are a must to try, along with Raki and Ouzo...Not together though!
Be prepared for lots of “foreigners” as the English are in a real minority. The Entertainment is mainly in German and the hotel’s guests are too!!!!!
The Nana has it’s own Scuba Diving Centre, Skuba Kreta. Although the hotel offers all guests at the Nana an introductory Scuba Lesson I decided to book a “Try Dive”, which cost 60 Euros, this included training and the use of their equipment. If you are staying at the Nana Beach and have ever fancied trying Scuba Diving make sure you try it while you are here...It truly is amazing and an experience, one that I will never forget!!!
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Stalis and a short bus journey Malia. If you are tempted to take the excursion to Spinalonga Island with the hotel DONT!!! It is a lot cheaper if you catch a bus (the stop is right opposite the hotel and runs every 30 mins) into Agios Nikolaos and change buses and go to Elounda right opposite where the bus drops you off is the harbour where you will find the boats to Spinalonga Island (last boat trip 4:30 p.m.).
If you have chosen Hotel Nana Beach for your holiday you truly will not be disappointed. What a wonderful place that has made some very happy memories!!!!
Hope you enjoy it as much as we all did!!!!!!
Happy Holidays!

" Beautiful hotel! The rooms were not... "
Submitted By: Mrs W Middlemist
Beautiful hotel! The rooms were not only spacious but well decorated and clean. The grounds were well very kept and the shrubs were all in bloom. The hotel boasts 6 pools - never any need to get up early to get a sun bed, you could drift down to the pool at lunchtime and still get a bed. There was also a private beach - although I’m not a beach person it was cleaned every morning. The food in the restaurant was excellent in both presentation and selection. the only down side was that the area round the 'hot' food area was small and at the peak times a little too hectic. I would certainly recommend this hotel for both couples and families.

The staff were lovely and the whole atmosphere of the hotel was absolutely fabulous.
The buffet needed variation in order to cater more for vegetarian.
And every night food in the buffet seemed to be the same.
The Italian, fish, and Greek restaurant's were great.
Maybe more teenager entertainment and adults.
Also nightly shows could be done in English because we struggled to understand Greek!
A great hotel.
Maintenance staff weren’t good. Considering we asked for one to come and take a look at something and we never got a visit.
An amazing resort and in gorgeous surroundings!
Well done!
