Elounda Village Reviews
" We have just returned from a fabulous... "
Submitted By: Mrs S Jones
We have just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks at the Aquila Elounda Village.
We had paid extra in advance for a superior sea view room and were not disappointed. On arrival at 6am we were greeted with a glass of champagne and allocated an upgrade to a brand new superior sea view bungalow with magnificent views over Mirabello Bay. The hotel had recently been extended although we were not made aware of this by our travel company before our holiday.
The bungalow was spacious and kept extremely clean with maid service twice a day. We received a free bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine in the room along with a bowl of fresh fruit every other day and fresh flowers regularly throughout the holiday. We also received complimentary tea and coffee and bottles of water. During our first week we received an invite to cocktails and were given a present of a greek urn ornament to take home.
The staff were all so friendly - from the reception and restaurant staff to the porters and the maids.
The breakfast was fabulous - anything you could wish for and more - and there was so much choice for your evening meal and the option to eat at any one of 3 of the hotels restaurants. The food in the Mirabello at lunchtime was particularly good.
Many people commented on the drinks being expensive although to be fair they were not much more than you would pay in bar or restaurant in town and only to be expected in a 5 star hotel.
Hotel is best suited to those people looking for a relaxing break. The walk into Elounda town took a good 45 minutes although there is a bus service from the hotel there and back 4 times a day
In our opinion it was definitely worth paying the extra for a superior room and for the views this gave.
There is still room for some improvement at this hotel but nothing major and nothing that would stop us from recommending it to others or from revisiting
Thank you Elounda Village for a relaxing and memorable holiday

" An amazing Holiday!!

An amazing Holiday!!
This really is a beautiful hotel. Me and my fiancee went last September and i thought it only fair I left it a review as its only had 2 so far.
Like someones already mentioned its not for anyone seeking a lively party type holiday nore is it for people with walking difficulties as its set on a hillside.
Our room was so nice. Spotless modern and best of all the views accross the bay was something out of this world. I couldnt stop just looking out or taking photos.
The hotel itsself is very impressive. Stylish, clean, great pools (especially the infinity pool), the private beach (hire a jet-ski, great fun) and best of all the a la carte restaurants. I forget the names but the one over looking the sea is some of the best food ive ever eaten. The Service was exquisite and made us feel like royalty.
I proposed to my now fiancee on the balcony of our room and we get married this September and i couldnt have chose a better setting.
If you want to get out n about Ag Nik is close and has a lovely harbour and some great tavernas. Also Elounda itself is nice and worth a visit or 2.
Weve been to Crete several times and the island is stunning and i cant wait to return again.
Mant thanks to Elounda Village Hotel staff and management for a great holiday. Ill recommend you to anyone.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. The surrounding scenery was very dramatic; however, I wouldn't recommend it for those that have difficulties with lots of steps/hills.
The accommodation was lovely - and was cleaned every day. We were in a junior suite, with the biggest balcony I have ever seen - more like a terrace. All of the facilities in the room were kept well stocked (i.e. mini bar, complimentary shampoo etc)
The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The pools were all kept really clean and the grounds were really well maintained. The beach was a bit on the small side, but it was ever so quiet and the sea was lovely to swim in.
It is a bit of a walk (20-30 mins) to Elounda, or a 5 min taxi journey. Elounda itself has become a bit commercialised, but is still pretty all the same.
Wish I had known before that there aren't any shops that close by, and the shop on site is very small and has limited stock - so being half board, we spent a lot of money on lunchtime snacks.
Plus, the buffet style dinner wasn't great - there were limited menu choices that kept being repeated... 2 weeks of the same kind of food got pretty boring! Probably should have gone full board / all inclusive or bed & breakfast and spent more time in Elounda itself.

Beautiful view on the marvellous Mirabello Bay!!
The hotel is mostly made of different little bungalows surrounded by beautiful gardens and flowers.
The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable.
The staff is smiling, very polite and friendly, especially the housekeepers (yes) and the reception.
The breakfast is excellent and you can have it until 12:00!!
The diner is not so excellent. The food is good but not various enough.
There are 4 pools. 3 sea water and 1 fresh water. They are all very clean and there’s enough sunbeds for everyone.
The beach is small but clean and welcoming.
We will come back!!
