Submitted By: Mrs A CousinsWe also found that the entertainment was not suitable for any of our children as it was all in spanish which was really hard for our 5year old to understand.Even the evening entertainment was in spanish.
The food which was being served was ok for adults it was a bit of a mismash of every country you could imagine. The childrens menu was very disappointing we had to take our children to the nearest restaurant so they could have some food that they could eat.
Overall this was a really disappointing stay at this hotel even though we have travelled to salou for the past 5 years this stay has put us of going back.

Submitted By: Mrs Sandra ConlonFood was ok if you like buffet style which we dont so we ate out a few nights walk out the hotel turn left there are plenty of restaurants and a big supermarket about 200mts away.
We spent most evenings in a pub called Pure Genius as they had entertainment and the food was excellent.
Make sure you go to port aventura we had a wonderful day out there. Better value to buy the 14day pass in advance in the UK its the same price as a 3day pass when you get here.

Submitted By: Mr D BuickFood was good although mainly fish/shellfish pork, beef, chicken also avail for dinner. Breakfast had plenty choices cereal, cooked, fruit. Only thing they need to sort is the coffee was horrible.
The pool was very cold but was cleaned early every day as was the whole poolside area, plenty sunbeds and umbrellas, pool showers and toilets. Poolside bar/snackbar was good very friendly helpful staff like the rest of the hotel staff - nothing was a problem to them.
Well situated between Cambrils and Salou, it was quiet but near everything if you wanted it. I am going to go back again and would have no problems recommending this hotel to anybody.

Submitted By: Mrs J RobertsonMy husband and my two boys aged 10 & 8 had a fantastic time. The hotel was spotless with friendly lifeguard, waiters, and reception staff.
The girls in the kids club deserve a medal - they were fantastic. the children loved the pool and the easy access at the back of the hotel onto the beach.
We found a fantastic shop (turn right out of the front entrance) for the lads football strips. the shopkeeper helped them pick players names for their kits! The bus stop right outside the door was perfect for buses to Salou and port Aventura.
The meals in the restaurant were lovely with something for everyone every night. The kids loved the buffet service and the show chef cooking pasta and omelettes for breakfast.
Salou itself is worth a visit though it is very busy. We went on the Thomsons trip to Barcelona (Football & fountains) which was amazing and had something for the whole family.
We are already saving up for next year and can't wait to go back.

Submitted By: Mr K McAuleyUpon arrival if you want a safe you will have to pay 2.50 euros per day for it and 5.50 euros for a fridge as they don’t come in the rooms as standard. So a total of 112.00 euros before your holiday begins.
The Gym/indoor pool is also 4 euros for half day entry - which I thought really poor and a complete rip off.
Location wise it is good, far enough from Salou to avoid the chavs and not to far (45 mins walk) to Cambrils to amuse you on the rainy days (of which we had 5). The bins on the streets often overflow with rubbish littering the street and a stench that would drive the rats out of the sewers.
The hotel itself was very clean and maid service was reasonable good - making beds and changing towels daily - but the room itself was very small with claustrophobic balconies. The food is certainly geared towards the Spanish and the surprisingly high number of Russians and/or Baltic state people.
There is plenty of fish and pasta and ringed, fried potato things that they qualify as their potato portion for the evening. About 3 times per week they may do chicken or turkey or pork. After one week of the food we just had to go elsewhere (Queens, Mucky Duck, Pig & Whistle, Railway Tavern - all of which are in close proximity to hotel).
Pool areas are good and clean but water is freezing. The beach is directly opposite perimeter wall, but I would not bother.....it is shale, cigarettes, general rubbish. On the first day we went their - it was very overcast - all jelly fish were washing up on it....not too good for a 4 year - needless to say we were not back!!
I thought I was not a fussy person until the end of the 2 weeks I realised the food was mediocre, the weather was mediocre, the immediate area is dirty (certainly out the front of the hotel), railway line across the road with frequent traffic, beach mediocre!! I would not recommend the resort or the hotel to be honest as I would not go back to either.

Submitted By: Mrs A SmithThe pool was clean the food was good, just not enough choices for British people it caters towards other nationality's.
We also enjoyed spending our nights at the pub the queen’s great entertainment, food and the owners and staff very friendly. The entertainment at the hotel very poor.
Great for the water parks and Barcelona would recommend this hotel.

Submitted By: Mrs S EavesFood not very nice for the English catered more for Europeans. Entertainment nearly nonexistent but animation team very friendly.
Had no trouble getting a sunbed as they are plentiful. Hotel is right next to the beach.
Nice walkway between the hotel and the beach for a stroll. Didn't find much local nightlife best to go into Salou but watch the time of the bus coming back not as on the timetable.
In the restaurant the staff are over enthusiastic about clearing your plates they take them before checking if you have finished, and also they start laying for lunch about half hour before they close for breakfast, so if you go for breakfast late you have to be quick or everything is cleared away.
Would not use this hotel again.

Submitted By: Mrs S ParkerThe rear of the hotel is almost on the beach and is beautiful. The front looks onto the main road and there is a train track about 100m away which wasn't too noisy but because of where our room was noticeable.
The room is basic but clean. I was quite surprised to find we were all to be in the one room. When I booked a one bed roomed apartment I expected a bedroom but that was literally all we got. Saying that, there was enough room for us and we put away the fold out beds each morning so there was more room for us all.
The bathroom was ok and had a bidet which the boys thought was fantastic! The cleaners came everyday and the bedding was changed twice. We always had enough towels. There was just enough wardrobe space for us all and there was a safety deposit box which cost around 17 Euros for the week.
The pool and sun bathing area is very clean and there is a lifeguard for the pool although his job must be well sought after as there are so many rules for the pool. You have to shower before you go in, you are not allowed to dive in (the deep end must be 7 feet deep), you are not allowed to swim under water, you are not allowed inflatable’s, and so on.
Needless to say we barely used the pool but with the sea on the doorstep you didn't really need to. They have a baby pool too (the same rules apply) which was clean and had sun loungers around it.
There is also an outside bar which sells hotdogs, burgers, ice creams, etc and a seated area for this.
The beach is literally 2 metres from the boundary of the hotel and is beautiful. Only once did we find dog poo on it, other than that it was very clean. My kids spent hours digging and building sand castles.
There are quite a lot of street traders that walk along with various 'knock off' designer hats, bags, sunglasses, etc. If you just say no thanks they tend to leave you alone although we saw one couple look at what they were selling, decide not to buy and then were chased down the path.
It was as though now they have shown you what they are selling you are obliged to buy from them. There are also ladies that walk along offering massages. They are a bit more difficult to shake off but if you are firm they leave you alone.
We were staying half board at the hotel and so got breakfast and an evening meal. The food was pretty average. Nothing to write home about but was enough to satisfy a hunger.
The breakfasts were your normal cereals, croissants, full English. The evening meals varied but pretty much consisted of a wide variety of salads, pasta, chicken, beef, pork, etc. There were a lot of different nationalities staying at the hotel and there seemed to be something for everyone.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The waiting staff were very polite and always spoke and tried to get a giggle out of the kids.
In the area where the hotel is situated there are plenty of bars and cafes and every other shop is a souvenir shop. We went to an English pub a 5 minute walk away called The Queens and they were very pleasant, the food was good and they had a big screen for the football!
There was one restaurant we went, we did not find it very pleasant and all had a bit of tummy upset the next day. It wasn't until after the meal we got a whiff of the dish rag they were using to clean everything. It was vile. The staff were unhelpful and did not seem to want to take the order but you live and learn.
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel on a regular buses take you everywhere.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and the only downside was the noise from the road and railway line out the front.
We did have a bigger balcony than the majority of the others and we did get used to the noise.
I would recommend this hotel to others and after looking at some of the others in Cambrils, we think we picked the best one.

Submitted By: haylesWe were really looking forward to it as we went alone without the children.
The food at the Maritim Princess was awful, it was fish every night and fries. I was really disappointed.
The rooms were ok, even though they give you a sign to not disturb you to clean your rooms, they come in anyway.
The reception staff wasn’t helpful but the staff in the dining area were all lovely.
The rooms was clean but small. To top the week off it rained every single day, so all in all didn’t have a good holiday at all.
We found a great English pub nearby called the Queens, which was welcoming and did lovely food and the landlord was very welcoming.
Best meal we had all week was pie and mash and it was hot unlike the food at the Maritm Princess and we wasn’t the only ones moaning about the food.
All the English families complained about it was never warm and did not cater for the English.

Submitted By: Miss S SeamanThe pool and sun lounger area is very spacious, plus you only have to step over a little wall and you’re on the beach! And the pool bar does excellent food and drinks.
We were half board and the food was excellent, for breakfast you can have continental or a selection of eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, toast. Evening meals ranged from chips, fajitas, burger, pasta, salad, and veg.
The entertainment wasn’t brilliant but good, Spanish dancing, plate spinning etc.
The location is excellent, loads of shops and bars, go to Pure Genius or Molly Malones (Irish bar) they have super friendly staff.
Salou is only ten minutes on the bus and is such a lovely place, on a night it is great fun.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone young or old!
" Salou/Cambrils
If
-you... "
If
-you can't leave Britain without the safety net of British food/pubs/accents
-your idea of dressing for dinner is to put on your best Burberry Chav cap
-you want to get your hair braided to be different (like everybody else)
-your tattoos are smudged and/or illegible
-you have a Union Jack towel or shorts
-the whole family have matching football shirts
-people littering (beer cans/crisps packets/sweet wrappers) the beach doesn't bother you
-you want your kids to start smoking young (people with babies puffing away like chimneys). Then this is the place for you.
Maritim princess
Good Points
-very near the beach which was relatively quiet through the week, bit busier at weekends when the Spanish were off.
-waitresses/waiters/bar staff very friendly/helpful/pleasant
-reception mostly friendly/helpful.
-v near the bus stop (right outside the hotel)
-bus travel easy and cheap (although the price to Port Aventura fluctuated?!)
Bad Points
-chips every night (even though it is a buffet)
-room could've been cleaner or cleaned better while we were there
- sea/beach a bit littered at times (plastic floating in the sea)
- kids club appeared to be geared towards the Spanish holidaymakers (no use if your kids don't speak Spanish)
We didn't use the indoor or outdoor pools or the gym so can't comment.
Port Aventura
-well worth a visit if you like theme parks
-longest queue was about 30mins for the Log Flume on a v hot day (everybody trying to cool down)
-get there early and there are no queues to speak of, can walk onto most rides
-decent spread of rides for adults and children (our daughter is five)
-didn't go to Caribe Aquatic Park but apparently Aquapolis (La Pineda) is better
Summary
-wouldn't go back to Salou/Cambrils/La Pineda
-would go back to Port Aventura

Submitted By: Miss J JohanRooms were lovely and were very clean and the location of the hotel is perfect, you can walk both into Cambrils and Salou from it although for 1 euro 20 the bus offers a very good service and runs all the time!
The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful! The THOMSON REPS WERE NOT!
As for the location. The hotel front is on a very rough looking street with apartments being built in front of it, however, do not let this put u off as the beach is literally at your front door. Directly opposite the pool is the beach. Although this beach is small it never gets busy and we loved it. There is a bigger beach literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel if that’s what u want.
WATCH OUT FOR PICKPOCKETS. My dad was pick pocketed at the bus stop directly outside the hotel. We asked the reps for their advice on what to do and the reps were no help so we asked the hotel staff for help! The hotel staff were amazing, called for a taxi to the police station for us and directed us where to go! The police were lovely although we did have to do a line up by looking through some blinds at a window. The police spoke very good English.
Salou! Hmmm, not the best for nightlife really, we spent most evenings in Cambrils which was beautiful, a little fishing village with great little bars and restaurants, full of Spanish holiday makers. Salou is a dump, full of English council estate type people covered in tattoos and shaved heads. Good to see but glad we stayed outside of it.
UNIVERSAL STUDIO's THEME PARK! Fantastic and brilliant. Even if u do not like rides there is something for everyone. BUY TICKETS BEFORE YOU GO TO SAVE QUEUING AND MONEY! That s what we done and we saved £48 and didn’t have to queue for tickets to get in. Also you can upgrade to a queue jumper wristband when you get there...this is worth doing! Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant!!!
BARCELONA – GO, GO, GO! Barcelona was brilliant, we went with our tour operator Thomson and went to the Nou Camp football stadium. This was expensive and boring, even my dad, a big football fan was bored at the stadium. When you’re on holiday look out for bus trips to Barcelona as these were cheaper and exactly the same. Also in Barcelona GO AND SEE THE FOUNTAINS!!!
Overall, me (aged 21), my sister (18) and both my parents had a lovely time in this area and would definitely recommend this hotel to any of our own friends and family x x x x

There is a beach right at the back of the hotel & a bus stop which was very helpfull, as we had tickets to Puerta Ventura.
The indoor pool was very interesting, even more interesting when one of the barmen showed it us personally...
;)
The food wasn't all that exciting for me, although I am a picky eater.
The waiters were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is also situated near to various pubs & a petrol station, and only a bus ride away from Salou and the famous club "Snoepys".
My friend & I thouroughly enjoyed our holiday & the accomodation, and will be returning at some point without a doubt.
ENJOY!
