I went with 2 of my friends to Hotel Alejandria on 28/7/07 - 04/8/07. The whole town of Arenal is German and Dutch & the staff around the town have made more of an effort to learn German than English! The hotel however was very clean and so was the room itself, we were... more

A few things to say about this hotel.. 1. If your British then i'd stay away because this hotel is solely used by Germans. They are mainly the younger generation and are so noisy and disrespectful. They look at you as if you are S**T on the floor because you are British.... more

I cannot stress too much the need to avoid this hotel. The staff of surly and unhelpful and deny knowing English when you wish to complain. The hotel is predominantly for German tourist especially stag and same sex parties. Noise is awful throughout the night banging... more

The Hotel was bog standard. We were on our honeymoon and thought we would try our luck with asking for an upgrade, the question was quickly snapped back with "NO". The rooms were quite spacious but the bathroom was not. There was not much of a view from our balcony... more

We made the mistake of going to this hotel in February which is when the Spanish government pay for the Spanish pensioners to go on holiday, the hotel was full of OAP’s, they are the most ignorant set of people I have ever met, they don’t believe in manners, they... more

An awful experience! Wrong rooms allocated on arrival. The hotel was almost entirely populated by Spanish and German old age pensioners. From the first evening there was overwhelming, disgusting odour of sewers emanating from our room. On going down to reception to... more

On first arriving at this hotel we thought it would be a good holiday as the hotel looked clean and the food on the first night was good. However, this soon changed as we realised that this hotel catered predominately for the German tourists. We had chips with every... more

When I booked this holiday I asked for a 3 -4* hotel this was not even a 3*, which it claims it was, plus I was not told it was mainly a German resort with only about 6 British bars on the whole resort. Because there were six, of us, we made the best of it but the resort or... more

We decided to make our own holiday arrangements, flying with Airtours and booking the hotel separately on the Internet. Our family holiday had to cater for ages ranging from 12 to 81, a tall order indeed! We took a taxi from the airport, cost 15 euros, including the... more

Hell
Full of Germans, rude staff, and worst meals ever! Me n my friend are both 17 and were very nervous about being on our own in a foreign country, on our first night a bunch of german people next door were shouting and singing till 6 in the morning, we simply said shhhh as we figurerd they wouldnt understand please be quiet. This obviously didnt go down well as the next night we came in at 4 went straight to bed...which is reasonable seeming as the bars dont shut till 7, we get a knock on the door from the night guard threatening us in spanish and shouting saying the germans next door had complained. Me and my friend were in tears not understanding what he was syaing. I went down stairs with my spanish handbook to try ask them what was going on. 2 of them started shouting and one grabbed my mate by the arm and twisted it behind her back, and said if i didnt leave they would ring the police. We honestly had done nothing i was just trying to understand what was happening, i was crying and not raising my voice as to eb honest i didnt know wot they would do if i did shout as they were very aggressive. When i attemped to say im sorry but i do not understand, one of them grabbed a Batton (i think thats what its called, the things the police have) and threatened us with that. We ran upstairs and threw everything in our suitcases and left in floods of tears. We each had 140 euros which would not have been enough to move hotels, or get a cab and a last minute flight home, we was stranded and of course our parents were so worried. However if they had rang the hotel to say anything the hotel staff wouldnt have understood or tried to understand anyway. Me and my friend returned after a night out on the streets with our suitcases at 7 in the morning when luckily there was different staff on. From then on every night we went out, the 2 night staff would make nasty comments and shout stuff at us. we refused to react as we didnt want a repeat of what happened on our first night. we was stuck there and we had 2 make the best of it. We got woken up early every moring because the cleaners would shout down the corridors and argue with eachother every day. The food was cold at breakfast, cold chips...how odd is that. and at breakfast u can help urself to drinks, however at dinner they close of the drink machines and make you pay for drinks. Dinner was also unpleasant i think me n my friend had about 2 meals there of which we didnt complete. I must admit the pool was nice and the bar was nice. It seems to me that this hotel does not have time for english people, and only accomadates for the germans. The staff made no effort with us. BUT DONT let this stop u visiting playa de palma !!!! the clubs are fantastic, the beach is absolutely gorgeous, and the returants and bars are great. If u fancy going somewhere to drink thats english go to Beach Combre! absolutely lurrvly people there made us feel so welcome, and they give lots of free shots and drinks :D only english people in there. However i would definately recomend you stay in a different hotel. Hotel Isis is quite nice and only across from the beach. Best of luck! But do avoid this hotel! The staff hoever may have respect for more older people.
Arenal nice promenade
Hotel very clean, breakfast, chips nearly every morning, I had egg on toast or beans if on the menue, evening meal, fish two or three times a week, Rabbit once a week, chicken twice a week and lamb was mostly bone and fat once a week. If making your own transfer from the Palma airport to the hotel, there are plenty of taxis, and the charge is roughly between 16 and eighteen euros. the hotel guests are mostly German, the airconditioning is on the hotel ground floor but not in the bed rooms. The hotel is about 10 minuets walk from the beech. Going to Palma there is a No 15 bus fare 1/10c euros and 23 bus 1 euro, The 15 bus is more frequent and I sujest you catch it at the No one bus stop on the front, because they get very full and there are only a few seats , they cater more for standing passengers. There are 15 bus stops on the front each represented by a beach bar and on the back of these bars are the number of the bus stop. There is model train which you can catch to take you to the far end of the promenade, there is only one fare and that is 3euros 50 cents.
