I was on holiday with parents and friends and like in my parents review the hotel was fantastic and catered for all ages.
I never once saw one bit of trouble or raised voice and there were many young people as well as families. This is down to the staff I think as they get everyone involved in their theme nights etc.
Food was good, although one of my mates was not right keen, infact he lived off chip butties for 2 weeks. Mind you the fresh bread they use is very tasty lol.
Got loads of cheap clothes in Gumbet centre, if your good at bartering then you can be onto a winner. Very cheap.
This is a place I would come again to, however I would probably wait till I had a family of my own to enjoy it with.

When we arrived back from the Asarlik beach hotel in Gumbet, I just could not wait to go back.
I took my 4 children and we had a fantastic time! The hotel had some of the best views ever.
The rooms were always cleaned to the highest standard and the staff were always so friendly.
I was not very keen on the hotel card system which is used instead of cash when you buy drinks etc, however once asked they did let me use cash as some people had problems with their bills.
This hotel is suitable to any age; however the kids may not like the food.
If this happens just see the manager as he arranges English food to be cooked for them at 5pm, which is a better time for them to eat and you can then enjoy your meal in peace while the kids play on the park.
Gumbet is only a 10 mins walk away and there you will find great bargains but don’t forget to haggle! It’s what they expect and believe me you can get some great bargains.
This has been a great family holiday and I would not hesitate to book it again.

I went to this hotel a couple of years ago with a friend.
It's a good hotel for any age, not for people who cannot walk far as it’s built on a/up a hill but as two 19 year olds a couple of years ago, I would absolutely recommend Asarlik Beach Hotel.
It was the best holiday I have ever been on. We got a late deal and didn't pay much in comparison to some families we spoke too.
We weren't expecting it to be much but we were completely surprised when we arrived to find that 'the least we could get is a pool view' was actually a full sea and pool view over looking all the gardens leading down to it from a good sized balcony.
Couldn't believe my eyes, we'd only paid £280 for what can be described as a 4* hotel, everything from transfers and insurance inc.
Rooms were so clean and lovely, pool was really clean and the atmosphere was brilliant.
Local area was good too, with streets filled with restaurants and bars catering for everyone. The brochure does not do this hotel justice, you have to go to appreciate that it’s better than it looks.
Don't miss out on the boat trips, fantastic esp. from Gumbet, and the Turkish baths and safaris.
I fell in love with Turkey on that trip, so much so I now own a property out there!

if I sat here and wrote all about Asarlik I would be sat here for a long time.
We first booked are holiday 12 month in advance so we didn't have to penny pinch to pay for it, it wasn't booked at this resort, when we was last in Gumbet on honeymoon we went to look for one we liked so we could go back and book with confidence.
About 8 months on there was a problem and Thompson's had to change our holiday. As the holiday grew closer the panic started as to how this holiday would turn out.
When we arrived and saw were we was, right in the town, we started to get really excited as we have made so many friends in the bars there.
Once in the hotel we realised it wasn't finished, the all inclusive part was weeks off being finished, building work everywhere, the next morning it looked even worse, the gut feeling I had had was there for real.
The Thompson's rep came looking for us, explained everything, she couldn't apologise enough, we were offered free Turkish baths, we new it wasn't her fault, they even offered to move us to an upgrade somewhere else.
I'm glad to say we took the offer of the baths but stayed were we was, it was the best holiday we have ever had.
We had to use the self catering part of the resort for the full 2 weeks we was there and it was wonderful, the staff couldn't do enough for you, the kids cried when it was time to leave.
I'm so glad we had the chance to visit the all inclusive part before we left, although it wasn't opened the manager took us round, this in all was such a great place.
If the self catering part was so great to us after paying for all inclusive, can you imagine what the all inclusive part is like now it is open with its roof top bars overlooking the gorgeous beach.
I would just like to say though, we are really trying hard to get back there in October 07, but with the child price age being only up to 12 years its a little off putting.
This year my 2 children will be 13 and 14 on return to England so are classed as adults but obviously not drinking alcohol, so it does seem a little unfair as adult prices.
But apart from that no complaints, fantastic resort excellent food wonderful staff, very funny entertainers who always have time for the big kids as well as the little ones.
Well done Asarlik, you have kept are holiday alive even now, hope to see you very soon.

Built in a rocky hillside it had lovely views. The rooms were lovely and clean and we had a bath and shower which I have never seen in a hotel before.
The staff were all great and would go out their way to help. The beach is quite small but there is plenty of room and sun beds to sunbathe. It was lovely to eat all our meals outside by the pool.
All the local shops bars and restaurants are close by. If you want to go to the market you just need to catch the local dolmus to Bodrum which is only a 15 minute ride away.
I enjoyed it so much that I have booked up for next year.

After reading numerous reports of holidays in Lanzarote, Cyprus, Tunisia, Majorca, etc. My partner and I decided that with a strict budget, the destination was not going to be the most important factor.
We wanted a sun holiday that wouldn't blow the budget. Turkey was one of the destinations that I particularly wanted to go to, but my partner wasn't bothered, "Somewhere hot. You decide darling!" was his input!
Looking on many different websites offering low cost deals, I found some which I thought seemed particularly good deals, all of hotels which were a short walk to the beach. It was then at the last minute I looked on the first choice website and saw the deal for this hotel. I booked the hotel there and then on the Monday, to leave on the Saturday from Gatwick.
We got a really good deal. To go the week after would have cost nearly £1000 for the both of us, but as I was booking so last minute it cost us £550ish (can't remember exactly) INCLUDING travel insurance, Late checkout fee (for the room as we had a late afternoon flight), meals on the flights and transfers! Bear in mind this is a true 4**** hotel, right on the beach, for less than £300 each, I was chuffed!
Well, flying out there was fine and when we arrived at the airport, around 8pm, our flight was the only one there and out baggage, the first off...handy!
The first choice reps were very quick and efficient and we were off on the road within half an hour of landing.
Driving through the streets and dropping off other passengers, we got to see some of the other hotels people had booked and when we reached out we knew we had got a good deal.
The Asarlik Beach has now been joined with the new Royal Asarlik Beach and they use their brand new reception area. Walking in on the huge marble entrance, it was such a relaxed environment, very spacious and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and a porter took us and our luggage straight to our room.
When we got into the room it was lovely. We had a big bath/shower which was brilliant and I have never had a bath in any of the many 5star Caribbean and Mexico hotels I have stayed at. The whole bathroom was marble.
We had two single beds, but we just pushed them together and after the first night the maid made the beds up as a double, using a double sheet.
I know I am going on a bit, so I will keep it short from now.
The pool & Jacuzzi: Lovely, refreshing, clean, lagoon-like. Surrounding there were wooden sunbeds and on the lawns the plastic ones. If there were no sunbeds available, you would just go to the children’s park and there was a whole stack that you could bring onto the lawn or pool area. It was never over crowded.
The beach: V.stoney...ouch! But, again, clean and refreshing. You could walk along the whole beach (we didn't!) The sand area was nice, always plenty of sunbeds. Beach bar served snacks also.
Breakfast: Only drawback was the hotel food. My god were we glad we didn’t have the option to go all inc. We had the B&B option and we ate breakfast the first morning and that was all.
For breakfast I can take it or leave it on holiday, but my partner loves his food and we often went down the road for some brilliant full English breakfasts for 5/6lira. (£1.80)
Drinking: Beer same price as home, maybe a little cheaper. Small cocktail, you’re talking £4. The drink prices were ridiculous compared to any other foreign country I’ve been to.
Food: The Chinese restaurants, to start with...the red dragon and the one down the road from plante yucca and cheers are both owned by the same person. I was a bit worried that it may not have been like really good Chinese we have at home. I had no need to worry, it was lovely, pricey compared to other types of food, but lovely.
All the other restaurant do the same sort of thing. You see them offering all different types of cuisine and you think they can't be that nice if they're not specialised chefs etc. But the food is delicious.
Planet yucca....lasagne.
Cheers....pizza and mixed grill. (And the nicest cocktails)
Trips DO's:
Definitely go to the Turkish baths, brilliant trip, cannot be missed, but don't go with too much sunburn!
The reps night out. We were a young couple on our own and we didn’t meet many people out there, other than the bar & restaurant owners, but on that night out it was a chance to get talking to others, especially if you're travelling alone.
DONT's:
Do not do the horse riding offered to you by the street tour operators. The horses are tiny (lovely all the same) but not what you see in the pictures they show you. The trail is of rocky roads between fields of grass and rock. Not nearly as good as some other countries offer.
Do not go to the dream girls drag show. This was much against my partner's will that we went to this, but I thought it would be a good laugh on the last night.
It cost £18 each and it included a supper (the worst meal of our whole holiday).
The show had some funny parts, but I was told it was no way near as good as last year and it certainly didn’t blow us away!
Wished we could have gone on a boat trip, they were apparently really good. DONT MISS OUT LIKE WE DID!
Overall opinion was that the hotel was a real cut above the others in the area. Very relaxing, but activities if you want to do them, good service. Very good trips available. And welcoming, friendly locals.

Just come back from the Asarlik beach hotel in Gumbet, and had a fantastic time! The hotel was better than the brochure, the views were amazing.
We had a family room, which was really spacious for 4. The rooms were modern, clean, definitely worth a four star rating.
The hotel uses a card system which you use to buy drinks and snacks, and you can settle the bill at any time, just be careful to check it as we had a few mistakes on ours!! Extra drinks that we hadn’t had etc.
The bar staff and animation team were great!! They all worked very hard to make our holiday!! Never felt pressured to take part in any activities. But when we did, we had a good laugh!!
I would recommend this hotel to any age, they cater for everyone. It is set in a nice location on its own bit of beach, close enough to Gumbet for walking but far away from the noise at night.
We are booking to go back next year we enjoyed it that much!! Also they have a mini club and playground for the kids, my children were never bored there!!
The animation team were great with the kids!! Good holiday all round.

Well what can I say, had an absolutely great time! Me and my boyfriend went on a last minute deal so got it unbelievably cheap and were amazed by what we arrived too. The rooms are big, with a maid coming in every day to tidy them (usually leaving flowers on your bed which was lovely).
The gardens and paths that lead down to the pool were also really nice, even had a stream that led down from the very top of the resort to the poolside. You got a huge variety of food for breakfast, my boyfriend particularly enjoying it with the omelettes that were cooked by a chef on your asking! Honestly couldn’t fault it.
The resort of Gumbet itself had a good variety of restaurants and bars, although we also did go through to Bodrum a number of nights as I feel you get a more authentic Turkish meal which you can eat right on the sea front.

Just returned from Asarlik Beach Hotel, Gumbet, Turkey and had a wonderful time. Was next to the Royal Asarlik but we preferred our hotel. The rooms were larger although no drawer space.
The pools were kept very clean and the whole place was warm and friendly. I will certainly return to the Asarlik Beach. The entertainment team kept us entertained all day and in the evening. There was a mini club for the kids but didn't have set times which didn't really matter.

I stayed at the Asarlik beach hotel in Gumbet for 1 week with my boyfriend. It was probably the best holiday I have been on in Europe.
The hotel was gorgeous, very clean and friendly. There is a group of entertainers called the 'Animation Team' who start at 9:30am by playing lively music and running around the pool waking everyone up. Then they do a gentle workout for everyone to join in. They play darts and pool games until 2pm then come back again at about 3 for more fun and games. They also come around and socialise while you’re sunbathing. If you can’t be bothered to join in then its still fun to watch. The entertainment of a night was actually very good with break dancers, show girls and Turkish belly dancers. The hotel is right on the beach but it is quite stony and the sun loungers are mostly shaded by umbrellas.
Gumbet has something to offer for everyone. The beach has a lot of hotels cafes bars and restaurants with hammocks and comfy cushions to just sit and chill out day and night. If you’re up 4 partying then the main bar street is 2 minutes away and stays open until 6am! Halikarnas night club is in Bodrum and a great night out, you can get tickets from the animation team and they take you on Sat night in a mini bus!
We stayed Half Board which means we got breakfast which is served until 10am (and we only made it on the last day) and evening meal which is from 7:30-10pm. The food is buffet style with everything from salads to BBQ and was actually very nice! My only complaint is that the waiters by the pool really have not got a clue and it can take 1 hour and 10 attempts to order a snack in the afternoons!
Everything you buy in the hotel is put on your bill, you have a room card and do not need cash for anything. I would suggest paying it every couple of days to stop it from mounting up. The prices were the same in the hotel as in the bars and restaurants outside. I did notice that a lot of things are priced in euros now and its not much cheaper for drinks and food as in Spain etc.
So yeah, anyway. I would recommend this resort for everyone. Families, couples or groups. It was great and I would go back tomorrow!

Well what can I say?
Absolutely brilliant hotel. Staff were friendly, rooms and all around the hotel was clean, food was nice, entertainment for adults and children was fantastic.
Really enjoyed spending time on the private beach and drinking in "love corner".
Gumbet is brilliant for nightlife and for going out for meals, if your not half board.
Lots of steps from the pool area to the rooms and receptions though but not a problem. Was surprised by the housekeeping staff how they spent time making the towels into heart shapes and putting flowers all over the bed, a really nice touch.
I have already booked to go back next year, can’t wait.
Definitely deserves 10/10.

Just arrived home after a weeks holiday. First impressions was out of this world, the setting of the hotel was gorgeous.
We were one of the first set of guests to stay in the hotel this season and we have never gone away this early on in the year.
My parents had recommended us to the hotel as they have been twice before and knew what to expect.
Unfortunately we think the hotel had been taken over, as the standard of food was really poor. We like to go half board as we have young children and if they try something and don’t like it they can try something else.
My children eat most foods and are not fussy eaters but the food on offer was extremely poor and we had to buy them food else were which defeats the object of being half board.
Most of the entertainment was held in the sister hotel The Royal Asarlik which we were told we couldn’t attend by the manager, but the animation team said we could so there was lack of communication.
There was only one night of entertainment in the hotel out of the seven nights which was disappointing.
Can only say that the hotel was situated in a beautiful setting, the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly and we had a lovely holiday but be prepared for poor food and no entertainment.
