We arrived at Zoraida Park on 29/06/2006 being allocated on arrival. First impressions, very big hotel, hot, packed full of unfriendly Spanish.
As the week progressed, we liked the fact that our rooms were kept very clean, but that was about the only good thing we could have said about it.
I have been on many package holidays before around Spain and I found this to be the worst, thank god it was a last minute deal and we didn’t have to fork out a lot of money for it. Our representative was absolutely terrible. We were given wrong directions to the water park and ended walking around lost for 1 hour, then our cruise trip was cancelled twice which made us loose two days out of our seven. We were not very happy! Not only were two days wasted but there was no apology and we were told that it had been cancelled while we were waiting for the non- existent bus, to go on the trip.
One trip I must advise people to go on if they are still willing to go to this resort is the safari ride. Really fun. Fantastic, funny guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Not many places to see around in Almeria, all desert and in the process of becoming bigger. Lets hope it gets better too!
A complaint will be made about our holiday rep, food in hotel terrible, not much choice and certainly not much choice for vegetarians! Overall rating of holiday 4/10.

Value for money that’s what we got at the Zoraida Gardens. We spent a week at this well run, clean Hotel. The food as most mass produced food is, sometimes quite bland, but when catering for so many guests you can't expect Cordon Bleu.
As pointed out it is very much Spanish orientated entertainment, and indeed most guests were Spanish, but everyone was treated the same by staff. There are bars just a short walk away.
We looked up the resort before we went, and so were not expecting a lively night life, We definitely were not in anyway disappointed with our stay there.

The Zoraida gardens is very clean and well run. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
ROOMS:
Are a little old fashioned but absolutely spotless even the loo is taped down prior to you using it and the glasses on the sink are sealed in plastic bags!! Sheets are changed at least twice a week and the towels changed every day.
FACILITIES:
Pretty good on the whole the gym is well equipped, the indoor pool is small but nice. Outdoor pool cold but nice and big. There is also a doctors and a shop for souvenirs. Internet service is rubbish don’t bother using it.
FOOD:
Worst point of the holiday if you can survive on salad and fish every day your ok but otherwise you have had it.
ENTERTAINMENT:
RUBBISH...mainly Spanish and awful.
OUT AND ABOUT:
POOR the hotel is just surrounded by other hotels most of which are also all inclusive therefore there are virtually no other bars or shops so be prepared to be bored
BEST POINT:
Very clean, great staff.
OVERALL:
Not the best holiday! Zoraida is mainly populated by Spanish pensioners , with bad attitudes!! They are sent there for a free holiday by the government believe it or not. This is why the food is so terrible, because they have such a tight budget in my opinion.
Yesterdays meal was a choice of burger but not as we know it. Tinned ravioli. Or steamed fish the rest of the week was not much better.

I went to Zorida with my family and had a really good time. It caters for all ages with there being a disco for people my age and entertainment round the pool for the parents and younger children. The rep was very good though he did mither a little bit. I’ve never known reps posting notes under the door and ringing the room.
The food however was quite disappointing. 3 days before I went to Zorida I had been to Costa Del Sol and the food was equally as bad there! There’s just nothing much to chose from, didn't eat most nights. And the flies how annoying!
The hotel was always kept clean and the reception staff were always friendly. I enjoyed the aerobics around the pool in the day!
It was a good holiday but I don't think I would have been able to take another week there. Oh and as for an up and coming resort as told by our rep it wasn't lively at all.

Just spent a great week in the Zoraida Gardens, Hotel could do with a little spruce up for next year but on the whole a very comfortable and friendly hotel.
Food very good but menu could be changed a little more often. We will be back again next year.

We went to Zoraida Garden on an all-inclusive basis so that we would not have much extra to fork out. What a mistake! Our rep had very little local knowledge and what information she did give was quite simply wrong.
The hotel is very much a Spanish hotel catering for Spanish guests and every other nationality simply does not feel welcome. On the all-inclusive tariff, the Spanish get green armbands, which entitles them to all drinks free, everyone else gets blue armbands, which only entitles them to selected drinks. A lot of bar staff and waiters give the Spanish priority in serving them. You need to get to know the best bar staff to get the best service. Entertainment is very much geared to the Spanish with some acts speaking not a word of English. Come here if you don’t mind being treated as a second class citizen, otherwise give it a miss.
Food in the restaurant was monotonous and of variable quality. The better food is freshly cooked at the grill at the far right corner of the restaurant - go here for bacon and eggs in the morning. If you like egg custard, crème caramel and similar desserts you will do well - that’s all they seem to serve.
The whole area outside is plagued with flies. Apparently the eggs came in some compost at the beginning of the season and the hotel has been suffering ever since.
For a good night out with a party atmosphere try Theo’s bar in the town centre. All the reps know it and most go there as well. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the best nights.

I went to Roquetas De Mar when it was just becoming a tourist resort. It was amazing. I stayed in Zoraida Park on a half board status and I loved every moment of it. The weather was great. I loved the food, activities and entertainment. Everything about the hotel was amazing. I would defiantly go back, but I’m trying Magalluf this year, hope it’s as good. Since I went to Almeria, I have since then been to Tunisia, Spain (Mojacar) and I think that my trip to Roquetas De Mar was the best one out of them all. If anyone is considering on going to the Zoraida Garden or Zoraida Park then I recommend that you get a move on and go, because no matter what age you are you’ll love it.

We travelled on 10th August 2006 when the security at all UK airports was sent into disarray, we eventually arrived safely at our Hotel which upon arrival didn't seem to bad a big foyer which gave the impression of big open spaces, then we opened the door to our rooms, it's a good job we had already arranged for our children to have their own room because the room we had was also classed as a family room (which one of our party had) it was suitable for my husband and myself but nothing more and very very basic.
The family in our party that had one of these rooms complained and did eventually get moved but they were classed as "moaning English". The rooms were clean though.
This is a Spanish Hotel and they don't like the British they do not want us there at all and I would not recommend this Hotel or resort.
We did have an incident and it would almost be classed as racism if it was over in the UK. The food was OK you could find something to eat, but you would have to be in the dinning room before 8:30 as the Spanish start to queue at this time.
All the entertainment is in Spanish and when we did try to speak in Spanish they just looked at us shrugging their shoulders. We travelled with My Travel who where there in body if not in mind just a waste of time really. I am not usually a negative person but this has put me off ever going back to Spain.
