" gunna go back again soon! "

The last review probably of 2009.
Never done one of these b4, so plz bear with me. booked 2 go last 2 weeks in oct from Manchester with me and my gud lady (so she tells me!) and 2 boys, 12 + 4. did'nt chose the on-flight meal, went 2 the shops at the airport 2 get stocked up with sarnie's + snacks instead, bad idea, once the basket got up 2 £40 i realised it wud have been cheaper 2go2 asda first on the way there, altho i'm not sure if u can take large bottles of pop or water throu passport/security control.
Flight time 2 Izmer is 3hrs 40mins ruffly, once there,every1 is told 2go2 the visa booth where there is a £10 cash (sterling)charge per person 4 yor visa, also, with the recent out-break of swine flu spreading around the world(althou nobody was stopped in our flight) u will pass an infra red camera which will detect anyone who they think maybe a cause 4 concern.
Transfer 2 the hotel was 45mins. Altho alot of people may not have a choice, anyone who is thinking of booking 4 this resort 4 2010, i wud advice u 2 fly 2 Izmer if u can, the other airport is Bodrum, the tranfer time from there 2 the Aqua Fantasy is 2hrs 45mins.
We befriended a lovely family of 6 who had to travel from the wrong side of Inverness, who had a 3hr journey 2 Glasgow, 2hrs at the airport, then a 4hr flight, then 2hrs 45 mins transfer, my heart goes out 2 u Gaz + Sarah and yor youngest Honey.
Once u r on the coach, u r issued a check-in card where u need 2 fill in all names and passport numbers 4 the hotel, this will greatly speed up the process when u get there as there will have been around 400-600 people checking in that evening.
Finally (i hear u say) we arrived at the hotel, what a place, its huge. We got off the coach on the World Side of the hotel, there is another part called the Club Side which is alot smaller thou i think was the original part of the complex. U r given 2 cards 4 yor room a card each 4 yor towels and a Splash card with a 300 Turkish Lira limit (£140 ish)this is 2 b used on anyhting which is not not part of the A.I. which there is alot!!.
We were allocated a lovely room, No 2319, on the ground floor of the World side with an out-look over the main pool near the bar. The room had a double bed with a single bed and bed settee 4 our youngest, sat tv,air con (altho it was rubbish) Tea+Coffee making facilities, 2 bottles of water with a label that says free of charge, but b careful, only the one with the label is free, not both, and a fridge fully stocked with mini bar. Please dont use this if (yor like me) u like yor money 2 stay in ya pocket, its bloody pricey 2 say the least. I read alot of reviews b4 i came out and have 2 agree with them on this point. Exchange rate was 2.20 lira to the pound in the Hotel, 2.40 if u took sterling 2 exchange at the bank in Kusadasi (which was easy), but i digress, a Kit Kat from the mini bar was 4.50 TL, which is £2! 2 familes we got 2 no while we where there spent between them £200 extra on the mini bar alone, IN ONE WEEK! You have been warned.
Yor room also has a safe which is 90TL 2 rent 4 2wks, 20TL of that is a deposit which u get back at the end of yor stay. The bathroom had power points + hair dryer 4 the ladies, the bath has very high sides (which after a few beers even i struggled 2 get in) with proper sliding shower doors so yor kids can splash 2 there hearts content and nothing will leak on2 the floor.
The Welcome meeting was the best i,ve ever been 2 and over in 20mins, no pushy excursion sales, just good honest advice about the Hotel and the Aqua Park, they warn u about the 1/2 or full day trip to Ephesus because there are limited places available so they advise u 2 book well in advance.
4 breakfast u have the usual array of cereals + fresh fruit, cold meats, bread, pancakes, beans and eggs + omelettes cooked 2order, alittle something 4 everyone, at least if yor kids did'nt like something, they cud go back 4 summat else. This set-up never changed 4 our 2wk stay and was fine by us, but if yor hankering 4 sum bacon and gud old sausages forget it, u have 2 remember that this is mainly a Muslim country, and apart from the (reformed) Ham and Franken Fuerter(?)sausages, they don't do pork products. Sorry lads.
Lunch and Main meals there is alot 2 choose from including a boiled/steamed/grilled fish, veg + rice section 4 anyone who may b on a diet, salads, soups, cold meats etc etc, alot of veal and lamb dishes, this did get alittle repetitive after a while but like i said b4, if u dont like it, leave it and it will b cleared way in no time + go and get summat else, or if u fancy a snack at lunch time, there r 2 snack bars, 1 just outside the Tropicana resturant (which is by far the smallest resturant!)serving pizza, burgers, chips, KFC style Chicken (which was very close 2 the real thing) and freshly roasted chicken, or the Pearl bar which is near the end of the large pool on the World side, serving pizza, burgers, chicken kebabs, spag bol, grilled veg, salads etc etc...
The Aqua Park is ace! it has a wave pool, lazy river, 24 slides (that i counted) but at least 8 of those r 4 the little ones, the others r brill 4 older kids (like me) any food or drinks have 2b purchased using the Splash Card, even those who travel 2 the park from other hotels have them issued at reception, they dont except any cash, but the beauty, is that u only have 2 nip outside the private hotel entrance 2 get 2 the snack bar, then go back in again, but b aware there is a guard who will check u have'nt brought any drinks back with u as its not allowed. The only people in the Aqua Park were from the hotel (there is a bigger Aqua Part 5 mins up the road by Dolomus) so waiting 2go on 2 the slides was no problem, but i can imagine in the height of summer (when we were told it was 35c at night!!) it will b packed with other people from neighbouring hotels but there's plenty 2 entertain the kids + if it gets 2 busy, u have the hotels pools (6, 2 with little slides) 2 choose next door.
Shopping.OH MY GOD!!!!
Anyone who,s been 2 the Canaries should agree with this. If the Canary Islands is the home of cheap electronics, then Turkey is the mecca 4 fake goods!
Yor first outing 4 shopping should b Selcuk, the hotel do a coach 2 here (and Kusadasi on Wed) 1 way only on a saturday at 2TL per person (80p ish).U get dropped off just outside the market, 2 return 2 the hotel just get on a Dolomus (small bus)and flash yor wrist band, they no where yor going, they run every 20mins just outside the market up 2 9pm and should only cost around 8TL which is less than a fiver ( 3.50 each from Kusadasi) for 4 the of u. This is full of veg+fruit stalls aswell as cheap fake goods ie clothing, watches perfumes, bags etc etc... and is a good starter 4 yor trip 2 Kusadasi Market on Wednesday. Here u can get T-shirts, tops, leather bags, jackets from the likes of Desiel, D+G, Nike, McKenzie, Bench, Gucci 2 name but a few. I got 7 t-shirts (3 for me, 4 for my eldest who,s in a small aduld size) with various names on for £10 or 22TL, a friend of mine was struggling 2 fit 14 leather handbags in his luggage back 2 Cardiff 4 his wife!!! The bargains were even bigger at the Kusadasi Market which is twice as big.
So my message 2 u is, if u,d like sum new clobber 2 take home, pack light! Next time we cum i only gunna bring a quarter of the stuff i,d normally take, i spent over £200 on new clothes which included 34 t-shirts, 4 jackets, 8 nitted style tops/fleeces, 12 aftershaves, 4 watches, 10 pairs each of socks + grots(sorry) and i,ve 4got the rest!!
I loved every minute if it, just haggle yor arse off, lol.
Back 2the Hotel.
The daytime entertainment 4 the kids + adults is great, the evening is gud 4 the kids 2, but lets face it, 4 the the adults its [--]! if fact its that bad its funny, how many times have they done Grease + High School Musical and they still cant get the words rite or in sinc and they,re miming!!!! lol.
I was gunna write alot more about this complex but id be here 4 years trying 2 point out everthing, just read the other good reviews and u wont go far wrong.
In a nutshell, we had a great time, great food, great beer, gud company, met some lovely people (gaz+sarah, mikey+daisy, romey+honey xxxxxx ) wud love 2 go back soon, wud recommend this place 2 any1 with kids, there r afew nigglely little things that mite cheese sum people off, like midges+mozzie,s, take plenty of TCP lol, large bags of Doritos from the hotel shop were 5TL, in Selcuk i cud get 3 bags 4 that and still have change, told ya it was expensive, lock the splash card in the safe, its what i did ,lol, and watch out 4 the water, its bloody cold, I did,nt suffer, but u my need sum toilet stoppers, its always handy 2have sum...... if u can look past these u,ll have a gud time.
Hope this review has helped a little.

On first inspection hotel looked amazing but after a week both our children and our friends two children came down with awful sickness and diarrheoa and one with an ear infection, cue visits to doctors and hospital while away and a spell in hospital for my daughter on return. Still ill after 11 days and been diagnosed with Cryptosporidium. Reps and doctors trying to cover it up and have done nothing about it dispite lots of sick children.

" Aqua Fantasy 2009 "

I went to aqua fantasy this year in aug with my husband and 10yr old daughter, I thought it was lovely, very clean and the turkish people are lovely, my 10yr old loved it, couldnt get her out of the pool all day, The food was nice but you get so sick of other cultures pushing in, it really annoyed me and I think the english are the only nation that queues up, after a while I began to do the same. I loved it all but wouldnt go back as I found the resort to big and was running from the kids show at night round to the bar to get a table as there defo isnt enough tables for the evenings. I also felt trapped as there was nowhere local you could have a walk to you had to get the bus into town which was half an hour away and to hot to do during the daytime. I have been to Turkey before but this place was on another scale, two weeks all inclusive is to much as you get so fed up going to the restarant or snack bar 3 times a day. It was also very very expensive, I ran out of shampoo and conditioner as was washing our hair everyday and the hotel shop charged £12 for each which is disgusting. We spent £800 over 2wks and its suppose to be all inclusive, be warned they make there money up in other ways so take plenty. I wouldnt go again but glad I have been, I just found the continental cultures very rude and ignorant think I'll stick to spain

Advice: Turkish people are very nice but money mad

" satisfactory "

OK, not sure where to begin. On the whole the holiday was satisfactory, but it is far from the 10/10 i have read about. The all inclusive is not quite all it seems, and it is not as cheap as i thought it would be. Each game of pool cost 6 lira, whereas bowling and snooker were more expensive. Ice creams are only free for one hour a day, so you need to make sure you get in the queue. The area surrounding the pool is extremely slippery and i saw more than one accident. I got stung by a wasp, and my daughter visited the medical centre/hospital twice with ear infections, and she was treated by having to have an IV drip, otherwise we were not going to be allowed to fly home. There were so many people visiting the doctors, it was more like an excursion.
However i did find that the sun bed situation was better than previous years. The pool was closed a few times due to faeces floating along, but occassionally they just fished out the offending items, threw some chemicals in and expected the children to carry on swimming.
After a while the fun of haggling in the markets becomes a bit of a chore, especially when you know that the bags, shoes, belts etc aren't really leather, even though they do stand up to the lighter test.
All in all i would not return to Turkey, i think it might have something to do with the bus drivers, talking on their mobile phones whilst driving and also taking the fares at the same time. Quite scary, and when we couldn't squash up any more in the car, they put the last person in the boot!!!!!!

" Fantastis "

I went to the aqua fantasy not long after it opened which was in May 2007 with all my family and really enjoyed it so we decided to go again last year and although it cost quite a bit more as was no longer a new resort, it was worth every penny the staff there are very friendly and the amount of entertainment, pools activities etc going on is great you need not go out the complex as has every thing there however there is also good arrangements set up if you want to go out of the complex on a number of trips etc. This holiday may cost a little more however is worth every penny!!

" Beyond Perfection!!! "

Aqua Fantasy resort in Turkey is amazing!!! There was three of us that went. Me, my brother and my mum. We all loved it!!! We got there at 1.00am and the chef's had continued cooking just in case any of us wanted anything to eat. You are given a wristband to show that you are there all inclusive. We all think that this was an amazing idea because on past holidays we have had to have a photo taken as soon as we got to the hotel and all of us were almost asleep at the time. So great idea of having a wristband. The room was clean and tidy and very spacious. Clean towels and beds made everyday and we were given fresh sheets twice a week. The cleaners did an excellent job and even put our toothbrushes all neat and tidy next to the sink. We had an excellent view from our balcony. On the left side we could see the sea and the pontoon and on our left side we could see the water park. Our room was in the middle of everything. Every meal was delicious and all laid out in a buffet style. You can also watch them cooking it for you. Waiters cleared your plate the very second that you finish so that you could return for more. There are 2 restaurants that are all inclusive but there are also other restaurants dotted around the place if you decide to pay for a lovely meal. The entertainment programme was excellent and the amphitheatre was gorgeous. We counted 8 pools including 2 indoor pools. These were kept clean at all times. We saw cleaners actually inside the pool with brushes cleaning the walls and floor inside the pools. The man made beach was outstanding and the sand even glistened gold. The sea is not deep at all so there is no need for a lifeguard on duty. Sunbeds are taken very quickly so if you want sunbeds next to the pool I would recommend putting your towel down at roughly 9 o'clock am. All bar staff and waiters are always so happy. They work long hours and get paid very little yet they still seem to love their job and do everything with a smile on their faces. The youngest in our party was 12 so didn't join the kids club but children up to 16 are well catered for with an up to 12's kids club and a teens kids club witch do lots of activities varying from killer darts, sea volleyball etc. and for the younger children, pony rides, sand painting, etc. The welcome meeting at the beginning of your holiday is very informative and is well worth going to. Kusadasi town is a great day out and only costs £1 there and £2 back per person. Canoeing and peddle boats are included but Jet ski, scuba diving, windsurfing, paragliding and all other extreme sports are extra. The water park is an excellent extra to this holiday as you get free unlimited access to it. And the hotel gets its own entrance to it. The slides are brilliant. You are not aloud to take drinks into the water park but you can always hide them inside your towel or you can leave to get a drink and something to eat and go back as many times as you want as its only a 2 minute walk away from the hotels restaurants.
You are given a splash card which allows you to buy drinks and ice creams with a hotel credit card which is great as drinks are only served until 11 at night. Food is widely available throughout the day whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are 2 restaurants which are included for these meals, 2 snack bars and in one of the restaurants, even midnight soup is available until 1 o'clock am.
My only complaint would be that the free ice cream is only served between 1 and half 2 which i think is a bit stingy but the ice cream is very nice.
But apart from that this holiday was our best yet and we will DEFINITELY book for 2010!

" Fantastic ! Got To Go... "

Just returned from Aqua Fantasy, Kusadasi, Turkey. We have two children, we have all had a fantastic time. Never taken the children abroad so were very aprehensive, but no problems from the moment we arrived. While there we struggled a little with one child as he is a fussy eater, but as the week went on he learnt to deal with it. Staff there are very friendly and helpful, kept very clean at all times, lovely accomodation and very comfortable, pools are great, food great wide selection of choice and great presentation.
Want to go again but for two weeks to get the full experience, Market town a definate must do, great fun haggling! Loads to do near by with short journeys, kids thought aquapark was fantastic but to be honest pools on the resort are great enough, good entertainment, beach very clean, beautiful views. Did'nt want to come home!!!

Advice: Nice place to go, from the resort, to the people

Activities: Resort restuarants are more than adequate, Market on Weds in town was a great experience for all...

" you cant beat the aqua park in turkey!!!!! "

This holiday was the best holiday we have ever been on ,We have even been to disney land however this was better!I'd absolutely recemend it.The staff wer'e lovely and the kids club and entertainment was phenominal.Although some reviews are not so good they are most definetly wrong,it says on some there were fights however we didn't come across one and we were here for a full 2 weeks,it also says the place was dirty, nevertheless it was the cleanes't place i have ever been to! it says other things too although you must not believe it,trust me.The aqua park was amazing we had great fun!especially the space bowl wich is the one where you go down a extra fast tube then come out and go round like a plug hole type thing it goes extreamly fast its brilliant for people who love fast rides!it is for any ages as long as you can swim, however we can't say what the x-treme screamer was like, due to none of us being brave enough to go on it! the weather was just the right heat, nevertheless I will warn you don't go in august to september it aparently gets too hot .We met some great people and if I had the choice I would go again tomorrow!

Advice: I love turkey and we will definetly go again

Activities: you cant not go to ephesus its fantastic!

" fab holiday "

Have just returned from Aqua Fantasy and have to say what a fantastic time we had. with 2 children aged 6 and 8, the water park was ideal. We spent every day down there. The hotel itself was very clean, hotel staff very friendly and the food was lovely, you have to queue for a bit, but well worth it when you get your food. We're definately booking for next year.....Roll on 2010.

" Praise Kusadasi "

Just returned from a week at Aqua Fantasy. Booked this holiday because the children kept seeing it in the brochure and desperately wanted to go. Had read some really bad reviews, staff rude, hotel dirty, food disgusting, etc. etc. But, what can I say! Best holiday ever. Hotel was fantastic, staff were friendly, very helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy, clean towels every day. Thomsons reps on site twice daily for 4 hours at a time, but were always around the site. Introduction meeting very helpful and full of useful information, so go to it. Childrens holiday clubs fantastic, had super staff and lots of great activities. Kids were not stuck indoors all day. They went on banana boat rides, made sand castle structures, t-shirt painting etc etc. The staff at this resort really do work very hard at all times of the day. We arrived at 1.00am in the morning and the cleaning staff were still in the corridors cleaning rooms!! Both restaurants and the snacks bar were spotless. All the way through all the meals there was a cleaner consantly walking around. The minute food was dropped, they were there to clean it up. Varity of meals and salads was really extensive, both for adult and children. Even the fussiest of eaters would have found something nice to eat. I should know, my edlest daughter is the worst for fussy eating. Had also read about belly bugs being rife at this resort. Well 6 of us went, one of them pregnant, so we were really worried. Went well prepared with medicines. Not one of us had the slightest of problems. Entertainment, although not professional, was done by the animation team from the hotel. It was always entertaining and very funny. They are a real have a laugh bunch. I could go on forever praising this hotel. You would have to one hell of a FUSSY person not to like this place. My younger children cried when we had to leave. Would definately go again. Well done to all staff at Kusadasi. Keep up the good work. P.S. Still have kids doing the club dance. Thanks team for a great holiday.

Advice: Ignore the bad reviews. Read all the good ones, you can see we are all saying the same.

Activities: Adaland - swimming with dolphins, underwater with the sharks. Aqua Fantasy Waterpark is excellent.

" Please read dont go .!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

I went last sept for 1 week party of 2 adults and 2 children
Where do i begin!!!!!!
All inclusive i dont think so 1 choice of beer which is like cats piss
vodka ,red wine or white wine they are like vinegar
Childrens coke was full of that much sugar and syrup it was sickly
one eveing we went to a bar and i asked for a vodka and coke and looked at my glass and saw some red which i thought o why have i got a tomatoe on my glass then thought we are in a bar there is no food in this part looked at the barman and he had a bleeding finger which was pooring with blood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband told him to sought his finger out and he just stood there untill we shouted at him he then went and oput some tissue over it.
The staff well they never seemed happy or helpful only the room maid she was lovely and helpful and friendly .
The rooms stunk of damp and swap as we faced the swap and the smell was discusting no view apart from looking at the swamp ,also the rooms had carpet which didnt help with the smell there was everything in that carpet from sand to sick to s**t believe me we saw the stains.
Noise at night from drunken teenagers running up and down the corridors plus a fight where a teenage lad put his arm through a glass door o yes then there was another fight with 2 grown up adults, one was sent home.
We didnt go to the water park as herd that the staff there were to intrested in dancing than saving lifes as someones child went under and they didnt do anything and with our 2 children thay are our lives why would we put them through that!!!!!!!
The pools were cold and parents were to busy drinking like they have never had a drink in there lives before so we thought we would stay buy the sea seemed safest place.
Breakfast staff was very rude and didnt like to clean your table my child brike his glass i mean glass whuy not plastic at breakfast time and it was all over the floor and we asked them to get a brush in the end we tidyed it up.
Kids entertainment its the same every night the man in charge goes mad if the kids go near the end of the stage ,well why put them on it in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before i forget ice cream 1 hour only i think i found out why as it very runny ice cream not frozen enough and bacteria is breeding and belive mE my youngest had the most terrible upset stomache for 3 weeks and loads of others as well on our flight home.
