what a beautful hotel! very clean and staff working all the time! swimming pools are lovely. food was ok not hot when should of been! people having sunbeds on beach and around couple of the pools and spending time between both which is unfair! taxi ti town will cost 25ytl i dont recomend eating at planet yucca in town if you do go out for a night! i would strongly recomend kitchen of the world which is just uo the road from planet yucca! they will provide taxi back to resort! rooms are gorgeous at hotel but air con wasn't working. beach is lovely but not the cleanest. we felt the entertainment was very poor and nothing to do at night! should be a soft play area somewhere inside as we had to wait 4 and half hours for bus to airport and with a 4 year old a bit of a struggle!!

Sep 2008, Mrs S E NEEDHAM

We are a family of 4 with 2 young teenagers.the hotel is loveley very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendley. Water park great fun and good pools, one where all the noise and entertainment is and one where you can just relax with no noise(only over 18s are aloud in that one). Good food and lots of it. I would say the only down side was that there was only a few evenings when the entertainment was realy good most of the time it was just ok.
The bus service into the town is very good (one about every 15-20 mins). the Town is a very busey port ,it is loveley to walk by the port . The only thing that is rather anoying in the town is that the shop keepers do their utmost to make you go into their shops, so you just have to take no notice of them. All in all we had a wonderful Hoilday and would love to go back again (we have already been 2 times!)

Returned from aqua fantasy on 8th...

Sep 2008, Miss K Thomas

Returned from aqua fantasy on 8th september. It is by far the best sun holiday i have ever been on. I went with my partner and 2 1/2 year old daughter. The rooms were immaculate, and the cleaners did a fantastic job every day.
The food isn't fantastic but you we can't really complain it was nice enough to eat no one was poorly or had food poisoning, it just gets repetetive especially at lunch time.
The entertainment team are absolutely fantastic can not fault them at all. Our daughter loved doing all the dances and still does them at home, we even ended up buying the club cd.
The AI does stop at 11pm but you can fill your table up with drinks and they don't say anything.
We went on the SHOPAHOLICS trip, wouldn't recommend this as it was boring and a waste of a day really. We didn't like the market although we did get some good bargains, but its really smelly and they all try to touch you and get you to come and look at their stall, a bit intimidating really.
If you do want to go into kusadasi there is a bus which takes you there which picks you up from the hotel in the morning, it doesn't cost a lot, and i would strongly recommend that if you do do this then buy all your pop and snacks from here as it is less than half price of what they charge in the hotel, although we only got charged for what we used they didn't try to add things on.
Can't really say much else apart from if you're thinking of booking this hotel then do it cos we thought it was fantastic and are already thinking of booking again to go for 2 week in may .

fantastic holiday would recommend to everyone with kids,
everything about it was first class, already looking at booking for next year, food first class, water park spot on, the time of year helped as not too busy, my brother went last year and returned again with us, it was that good, make sure you have good travel insurance as accidents may happen and doctor not cheap, father in law fell of hammock ( what a wally )

just back from a weeks break at aqua...

Sep 2008, Miss J Ferguson

just back from a weeks break at aqua fantasy. The hotel itself clean and the staff friendly but you are not near any shops etc you have to travel to kusadasi or selcuk if you want shopping etc. this hotel is stated as 5 star but I would rate it 3/4 star. the room we stayed in was a junior suite, spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the adult only pool. waterpark ok but would of been disapointed if i would of had to pay into it not as big as I expected but ok all the same. Dont eat at planet yucca in waterpark, food rotten and overpriced for what you get. Y ou are better going to restaurants in the hotel for free. I found it boring at night as if you didnt want to sit at pearl bar or beach bar and drink and listen to karaoke there wasnt much else to do except go to bed. Kusadasi itself was very intimidating with shopkeepers pulling at you to buy stuff and found it dirty. Wouldnt travel back here as transfer was 3 hours from bodrum Very long after your flight. Mini bar was fine we only used the water out of it and that is all we got billed for. To sum things up this hotel is for sun worshippers who like to swim every day all day and lay by the pool all day. aqua fantasy definitely not 5 star only 3/4 star and the whole place very very expensive. Bodrum airport prices are worse do not buy anything in there they just make the prices up out of their heads honestly You get treated like cattle in this airport and turkish airport staff very ignorant.

Group size 16 people (8 adults and 6...

Sep 2008, Mr D Luxton

Group size 16 people (8 adults and 6 children).
The aqua fantasy complex is large and very nice, (with 600 staff) however the standards are/is what would be expected for 4/5 stars complex. First choice rate at 4 stars but aqua fantasy rate 5 stars - its not 5 star and I would rate at 4 star only.
A great choice of pools and bars, with the aqua park a bonus - but it's not as big as other waterparks in other countries that we have been to, but stillvery nice. Note food/drink cost extra here and are excluded from the AI.
There is two AI restaurants, tropicana and oasis, the others are ala carte and are subject to extra cost.
The hotel shops are expensive, for instance pringles and a small packet of cookies cost me £5.50. The airport (bodrum) is worse, £4.00 for a can of coke, and £6.00 for a bag of sweets for the flight. £24 for two burgers and two chips with drinks and chicken burger.
Benson and Hedges £32.50, in the hotel (black market they must be) - there is a cigerette war on in turkey, so you won't buy B&H any where, other than the airport, which is the cheapest at £16.00 for 200. So get them at the airport, tobacco (golden virginnia) x5 50g bags is also £16.00.
It will cost 25 lira (£12.50) for a taxi from agua fantasy to kusadasi and 25 lira back, best to buy biscuits and sweets in the local spar shops - much cheaper. Note, nothing outside aqua fantasy - no shops, nothing....
The cost of watersports (located on the beach) varies on the high side for british. The germans etc seem to pay about 55 lira but english 70lira - stick their jet skis up their backsides....should be one price for all. The turks think we are loaded. I over heard the conversation when sunbathing on the beach.
The staff are friendly and helpful. A bar tip goes a long way with these guys, bearing in mind they work all day (14hours ish) for £45 per day.
Watch the mini bar and splash card - often you get over-charged, so best to check it every couple of days. I had a number of disputes over the mini-bar. They know they are wrong and eventually they wipe the bill. But its annoying trying explain, that you haven't taken food/drink out or you have already paid. Ask for a receipt each time so you can see your bill is £0.00 because I didn't and the bill was paid but on the computer, still showed a debt. They should wipe clear when you hand the cash over.
Safety deposit box will cost £30 for two weeks - expensive. I been AI before and these have been free.
In terms of the exchange rate, its better to change your money over there and not in the uk. Also you can pay in english in most shops and often you get a better deal.
The hotel food is ok, but its 4 star and certainly not 4 star plus or 5. Very repetitive but plenty of it and choice.
We have priced up the holiday again fo next year and the cost has risen by 35%, ouch for the same party and time of year. For this reason we will shop around for other deals.
Rooms are a good size and you can get a good night sleep after 11ish.
AI finishes at 11, but it's not a big deal, just fill the table with beer and cocktails.
Lots of mosquitoes here and people being bitten all the time - recommend a good repellent or bands. Watch out for the wasp, lots of them including the apache helicopter - big bad ones...like flying scorpions.
Diarrhoea/sickness a big problem. We all suffered at some stage during the holiday for a day or two and in some instances longer - don't know the cause, and we couldn't identify if it was the pools, juice, etc. Some children became very ill with sickness...unknown virus, that first choice and the hotel keep a low profile on.
Shoping: Having been to turkey before the prices are starting to increase, bartering is becoming harder to get a good deal. Certainly the sayin: cheaper than asda price does stand, i ask if its cheaper than aldi or lidl - that always stumps the turks...you have to be rude back, because the uk and ebay prices is just as cheap. As for children's toys, it's a rip off, for cheap plastic made junk from china. My sun wanted a machine gun, £10,you can buy the same in bits for £2.50.
Overall a good holiday and despite the down bits (noted above) we would go back.
The big downside of the holiday was a 20 hour delay in the airport, which first choice were very poor to provide refreshments and food, but this doen't affect aqua fantasy.
I hope this gives good feedback for others and if you visit you have a good time!!!

Rubbish you pay for everything apart...

Rubbish you pay for everything apart from food and drink. the so called free ice creams are for one hour only, its either vanilla or choclate. the food is nothing special. one good thing is the entertainment, out of one week there was 6 nights of decent enterainment. teh entertainers themselves are out by the pool with you. teaching you the club dance or just generlaly having a laugh with you
everyone comes back with either a ear infection or diahoerra.
If you go there, you will regret it.

Just returned from our holiday on 8th...
5 / 10
Sep 2008, Mrs T Baxter

Just returned from our holiday on 8th September and agree entirely with the comments made by Mrs M Johnston (Aug 08).
The holiday was "all inclusive" and an absolute waste of money and definitely not value for money. We paid £5,000 for a family of 6 including four teeagers aged from 13 - 16 years old and apart from the aqua park which after a couple of visits were bored, there wasn't enough there to keep the kids happy for two weeks.
The entertainment team were great, however, more suited to younger children.
The "buffet" choice was very repetitive, same everyday and my husband caught severe food poisoning the whole of the second week and confined to the hotel room and just recovering now 10 days laters.... has been referred to hospital for tests, so beware.
Two of the children had throat infections, cough's and ear infections, maybe we were just a little bit unlucky but definitely spoilt the holiday.
The resort is very remote (in the hills) and over 5 miles from Kusadasi town centre... there is a shuttle bus each day to take you there costing 3.50 turkish lira, however, have to get a taxi back which cost approx 25 - 30 turkish lira, always negotiate the price before getting in the taxi.
The hotel itself was very clean, the pool was nice and few minutes walk to the beach. We were really disappointed with the selection of alcoholic drinks .... local beer, house wine, cheap vodka and gin... very little else, which finishes at 11pm when all the activity begins in the beach club and pearl bar... what a con!!
Everything is really expensive in the hotel shop and have to pay as there is nowhere else to go... £4.50 for can of pop, £4.00 bag of crisps, £2.50 for a bar of chocolate yes... mars bar, twix etc...
They give you a "splash card" when you arrive to pay for "all the extra's" you didn't know about.... pool, bowling, snooker, drinks etc after 11pm.
We spent more on this "all inclusive" holiday than in previous holidays going B & B, self catering or half board.
Check the mini bar aswell as loads of complaints about having to pay for items that you havn't used... and again so expensive.
Everybody has different expectations regarding what they want from a holiday.... however, i would never go back to Aqua Fantasy or recommend to anyone either.

Aug 2008, Other SJCL Linford

When we arrived at Izmir airport, the first choice reps were very helpful! It took us 45mins to get to aqua fantasy. We arrived very early in the morning, but that didn't stop the staff catering food and showing us to our room.
The staff were very entertaining with the kids, especially my age(10-15). The activities were enjoyable and for any age. There was water polo for the adults and kids clubs, from disco's to bowling.
We stayed all inclusive so everything was basically free, but not everything actually was! At 11pm-12pm, Happy hour, the drinks would cost 2 lira. The staff would try and flog you CD's and more stuff too.
There are many trips to go on. We booked 3 trips. We went to a dolphin show which was very enjoyable for my sister but not for me and my dad. My sister swam with 1, it cost £80. We also went on a boat trip, this was amazing. We got to jump off a boat and visit beaches! This was extreme haha! We also went to ephesus, this was for half a day. You could book for a day or half a day. We are glad we only booked half a day as it was very tyring and you have to walk a little distance.
Overall it was an amazing holiday! The best bit would be the waterpark which was awsoume. I'd recc. this holiday to anyone it was top draw, apart from the plane home! On the way back we got delayed 45mins from Izmir to Gatwick! I suppose it was worth it because our plane was fist class on the way home, we had TV's on the back of the seats and games linked to it! It was just like a playstation.
Overall holiday I'd give it 9.9/10!

Aug 2008, Mrs L J Harris

we are a family of four, we have a 6 year old and a 4year old and have just returned from 2 weeks in the aqua fantasy hotel. We had a fantastic time there is nothing at all we can say negative about our holiday. We have never been to Turkey before so we were a little worried about what to expect and whether the children would like it. We were concerned about whether the children would eat, what the people were like, whether the children would enjoy the kids club. Also what had crossed our minds was whether we would let the children out of our sight, as obviously we are all very concerned for our childrens welfare especially after the madeline mcannns case.
Anybody with the same worries prior to booking your holiday, please read on.
The hotel is in a very secluded area and has security very much in force.
The staff are fantastic, very helpfull and pleasant at all times.
The hotel is spotless they are continually cleaning all day.
The food is excellent there is a huge choice and is cooked very well.
The kids clib is brilliant my children had a great time, which allowed my husband and I to have some free time to our selves, wwhich is very important.

I have just got back from two weeks...
10 / 10
Aug 2008, Mrs J Davies

I have just got back from two weeks at Aqua Fantasy in Kusadasi. Never being on an AI before we wasn't sure what to expect, but this hotel is superb.
Family of three (child is 10) this is perfect. We flew to izmir, transfer time approx hour, you are asked to fill in a check in card on transfer to save time once in hotel. have change ready for tipping the guys at the airport and at the hotel for taking your cases.
The rooms were spacious (Junior room) with a sliding door to each section and a balcony over looking the pool, which is massive.
Entertainment ran from 10 to 12 and 3 to 6 ish around the pool, poolside games every day, water polo, volleyball and water gym. Extra things also like darts, shooting and archery, beach and sea volleyball and football were organised. Afternoon the diving team came up to give you a chance to try outdiving, although this is free, the dives are around 35 Euros, this was a fantastic chance for our daughter to try it out before we booked.
Staff worked hard, were friendly and polite. the cleanliness of the hotel is superb, there is always someone going round sweeping, picking up glasses, mopping down, resturant staff continously clearing tables and re setting.
A large choice of food, something for everyone, although after two weeks it did get a bit repetative. The A la carte resturants (20 Lira or the steak house 30 lira extra) are superb, but be firm with the food orders, there are sections on the menu where its not very clear that they expect you to order from each section, too much food. For example the chinese, prawn crackers to start, then soup, salad is next, then hot starters, main course with rice or noodles and then desert. They are a bit insistent on you ordering from each section, be firm as they arent stingy on portions.
Only thing we struggled with was the strictness of meal times, we felt they were slightly restricetd, but can understand why they are set and for two weeks we were more than happy to adjust.
Evening entertainment we didnt get to see but heard good reports of it, our time was mainly spent down by the Pearl bar, where the poolside team often put on entertainment. Bingo, Quizes, Karaoke, Dancing, good interactive fun.
Can understand what everyone are saying about AI finishing at 11, but if you get your timings right then you can stock up just before, but bear in mind everyone else is doing the same, witnessed many a fraught argument over timings!
The Spa centre is superb, treated myself to a Turkish bath on the first day (which helped with my tanning!) and went back for 4 other massages. Again the staff are friendly, the spa centre is extremely clean and a top place to relax for a few hours out of the sun.
The Aqua park isnt free for drinks or snacks, but there is a pool just outside the entrance with a bar there. Again this was a superb choice of fun for our daughter (and husband who enjoyed it just as much) They are a bit funny with t shirts being worn on some rides, we resorted to buying a wrap which she took of at the top of the slides and carried down with her in the rings.
we were confused with the currency, they tend to be more Euro based and things were slightly cheaper in euros, but as other reports state, the hotel shops are on the pricey side, 8 lira for a bag of crisps and 3 lira for biscuits.
We only ventured out twice- once to the Adaland for the Dolphin show- our daughter swam with the dolphins, again be careful the prices varied on a daily basis, we were quoted 60 euros on arrival, this then changed to 65-70 euros and on the day we were told it would be 80 euros but ended up as 82. 30 minutes in the pool with two dolphins in groups of 6-8 depending on how many want to swim. Well worth it. Photos are 20 lira.
The other trip was a first choice kickstart to Kusadasi, it was good to see the sights of the town, fantastic breathtaking views, felt the timings were a bit odd- it starts at 7.30 so you have to be very organised and eat in half an hour before the trip as you dont get back until gone 10.30 when no food is available and htere is no chance to eat on the tour unless its on the coach.
I could write more, but i wont, go book it today, its a beautiful place, friendly staff, clean, variety on offer, very family orientated and lots of things for kids to do.
I know im going back next year!
