We stayed in one of the studios at the Sunshine Apartments. These were spacious and very clean and had 2 single beds, a large dressing table, two chairs with a low coffee table and a kitchen area with fridge, sink and a two ring hob. Limited kitchen utensils though.
The bathroom was very dim as was the dressing table mirror so best to do your makeup on the (small) balcony in daylight before it goes dark! Air con cost 5 Euros a day and was a necessity. No probs with mozzies.
The pool was medium sized with a slide and a few sunloungers but as there was no breeze by the pool and the temperature (late August) was in the 40s, we went to the beach where there was a very slight breeze in the afternoons.
The restaurant has lovely food and friendly service. The location of the apartments was excellent as they are set back from the main road, down a side road, which means they are quieter but only two minutes walk from the main road and between five and ten minutes walk to the beach.
There are enough tavernas and bars for a week’s holiday although some are a bit scruffy and there seemed to be a lot of bars with football on big TV screens which is great for those that like it but not so good if you just want to chat over a drink. The nicest restaurant was at the Meni hotel. Their bar was nice too. There are a few shops along the main road and a much better selection in Kos Town.
You can catch a bus from a few points along the main road to Kos Town. It costs 1 euro 60 and takes 20 mins but bring Magicool and a fan as it’s very hot! Times are listed on the bus stops. Get off at the bus station in Kos Town and get it back from there too.
We got a taxi to the Lido waterpark about 15 mins away (the taxi rank is by the fountain roundabout by the beach) and had a great day there. It’s only a few years old so it is in great condition and was clean and quiet with no queues. It’s cheaper to go on a coach trip organised by the many trip specialists on the main road but the coach trip days are probably busier.

Just come back from the Sunshine Apartments and had a wonderful holiday. The apartments are set back a few hundred yards from the main street which meant there was no traffic noise keeping us awake.
The room we had (No. 17) was a one-bed apartment but was by far the biggest I had ever stayed in! They are basically furnished and don't have a kettle or much in the way of crockery but who wants to eat in anyhow?!
The balcony went on forever and was very private. Some of the other balconies were on ground level (opposite the swimming pool) and not so private. However, because there are only 25 apartments, everyone seemed to know each other after the first couple of days around the pool.
The guests were a mix of English and Dutch but everyone was very friendly and the kids all played together in the pool.
The apartments are family run and you instantly feel like one of them! It was so hot when we were there, 47 degrees Celsius one day, but Xenia and Eddie who worked in the taverna/bar were always ready to serve you with a smile!
Prices in the taverna were comparable, if not cheaper, with the other bars and restaurants and you get 10% off if you are a guest.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Our favourites were Vassilis Restaurant, The Greek Kitchen and Meni Restaurant. There was also a good bakery serving fresh bread, cakes and pastries on a daily basis.
We also had a lovely English breakfast at Taka Taka Mam cafe (don't let the name put you off!!) This was located just off the square by the beach. The cheapest supermarket was called Konstantinos. When you get to the main street go right and follow the road up past the tavernas (about an 8 min walk).
The beach was a 10 minute walk away and the further left you went on the beach the quieter it was. We had a lovely spot where there were only 2 rows of sun beds and the lady who looked after them reserved us the one of our choice every day! It cost 6 euros for 2 beds and a brolly.
Every morning about 11am there was a van selling fresh fruit and a man selling fresh donuts from the bakery. In the afternoon the ice-cream/burger van arrived so you didn't have to move if you didn't want to.
Last, but not least, special thanks must go to Maria, the maid, who kept our apartment spotless. The bins were emptied every day and the sheets and towels were changed every other day.
I would definitely recommend these apartments for a relaxing family holiday.

We have just returned from our holiday at the sunshine apartments in Tingaki. What can I say we had a wonderful holiday.
Our apartment was very basic but spacious and clean. We arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning and the only complaint that I have is that there was not any bottled water in the apartment.
Buy hey its Greece what can I say!
Sunshine apartments is a family run affair and to say they could not do enough for you is an understatement!
Xiena and Eddie are on hand morning till night to wait on your every whim..what ever you want they will get.
The pool is quite small and when all the fella's are playing water volley in the afternoon you take your life in your hands if you want to go in for a swim.
The apartment block is a short stroll from the main strip which consists of a selection of taverna's and cocktail bar's but no nightclubs which is a bonus if you’re our age LATE 30's.
There are the normal touristy shops and a few supermarkets.
The apartments are shared with British and Dutch visitors and I have to say everyone got on very well even the children interacted very well with each other.
We will be going back next year no question and the children are already looking forward to it!!

Just arrived back from 11 nights at the Sunshine apartments, thought it was great, all the staff were really helpful and pleasant, and work hard to make your holiday special.
The rooms were very clean and big but not really designed for cooking a meal in and could do with air con in both rooms (no kettle or toaster).
We ate at our own taverna 3 or 4 times where the food was excellent and a reasonable price plus you get 10% discount. All the tavern’s we visited were good especially liked Skala on the beach (the lamb Kleftico was to die for).
The beach was lovely with plenty of sunbeds and shades, a must as it was 40 degrees + every day for 5-6 euro's.
We certainly would go there again and liked Tingaki low key night life had two 14 year old boys with us who both loved it. The new water park/Lido is well worth a visit for 17 Euro's book in town in the square (cheapest).
Thanks to all at the Sunshine Apartments.

Took a short break to the Sunshine Apartment in Tingaki and could not have had a better time. The Apartments are fairly roomy and spotless.
The cooking facilities are basic but with a 10% discount in the apartments own Taverna who needs or wants to cook. All but one of the staff are family and from the moment you arrive you are taken into the fold.
The staff are superb and I would be remiss if I did not give mention to Michael the chef who produces some mouth watering food, not forgetting Xenia and Eddie who work in the Taverna and round the pool, serving you any snacks or drinks you require, always with a smile.
The apartments are about 50 meters off the main Tingaki road, which gives them a nice feeling of privacy. The pool area is average size but sufficient due to the fact there are only 25 apartments.
Everything you could possibly want is just around the corner; supermarkets, bars, Tavernas and the beach are all within a 5 minute walk.
I am trying to book again for next year but am finding it difficult, as I am unable to find next year on the Olympic site, BUT will definitely persist.
I would 100% recommend these apartments to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

I visited these apartments this year with my friend and absolutely loved it. Our other two friends were staying up the road and our apartment was by far the best situated and furnished.
The hotel itself is a nice 10 min stroll to the beach and only 5 mins to most bars and restaurants. Tingaki itself is a quieter location than nearby Kos Town which we also visited on a bar crawl. This bar crawl was only 10E but the drinks were pricey and the bars were all very crowded so we were pleased to get back to Tingaki.
I would recommend Mascot's bar for the younger, livelier people although there is family entertainment on earlier in the night. All the restaurants we ate in were absolutely delicious and all the staff were always very helpful and pleasant. I would particularly recommend the Mediteranee which was extremely laid back and service was brilliant.
One thing I would say about the beach is that you pay 2.5E for a sun bed per day however the beach is lovely and the breeze makes the heat bearable.
I am not sure I would visit Tingaki again as it does not take too long to view all that is on offer, however a 7 day holiday would be perfect and relaxing for a young couple or a young family, who wanted the ability to have quiet nights with the odd heavy night or two!

I enjoyed it that much me and my boyfriend have decided to go back this year in July. Cheap but excellent quality and I definitely recommend this place to everyone. Especially good for families.

The sunshine apartments are ideally situated on a quiet side road, a short stroll away from the main thoroughfare. It is a small size complex comprising of a medium size swimming pool (complete with slide) and a taverna/restaurant.
The rooms are spacious and airy; they are cleaned every other day. Cooking facilities are basic with a two ringed hob and the minimum of utensils. Air conditioning is available for a fee.
The taverna is run by friendly staff who will wait on you by the poolside if you so wish (you can run up a tab and settle at your discretion).Breakfast and snacks are available during the day, with a full restaurant at night. An extensive menu is available and is to be recommended.
The resort is compact and attractive, ideal for families with plenty of bars, supermarkets tourist shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Special mention must go to The Beer Garden; situated next door to the apartments. This will keep the kids happy with giant chess, table tennis, trampolines, crazy golf and a football pitch. All set in very pleasant surroundings.
There are enough restaurants to be able to try a different one every night. The staff are always friendly, courteous and attentive. Try the New Rodini, Meni and Mylos.
Excursions can be booked through local tour operators. Tingaki Express and Theokritos Travel both proved to be reliable and value for money. Highly recommended are trips to the sunset at Zia and the three island cruise.
The beach is a long, tree fringed stretch of coarse sand, a five minute walk away. There are plenty of sun beds available for a small fee.
Tingaki has a relaxed pace. If you want peaceful, quiet nights in attractive surroundings then I cannot praise it enough.

Stayed here at these apartments this year and had a wonderful time. Want to go again next year but cannot find these apartments in any brochure. Can you help, please? The apartments are very spacious and clean.
The pool excellent, and the food in the restaurant - wow! The resort is wonderful, the beach superb although it can get a little windy. September can be a little bit chilly at night.

Myself, my partner and my two children (ages 10 & 8) stayed at the Apartments Sunshine for two weeks in August. There was (AND STILL IS) no independent information provided before we left, which worried us a little. However, the apartments were relatively new, so we went with it.
After ‘dropping’ out of the sky at Kos airport, we were pleased to arrive in one piece, all be it about 10pm Greek time! The travel company ordered us a taxi, and we swiftly arrived at the apartments in about 35 mins! We were warmly received by Maria, who escorted us to our extremely large appt.
The next day we organised the basics; a safe and air conditioning (a MUST!). SAFE WAS 15E and the air con was 5E a day. Maria was straight in there with a discount, which led to a really good saving.
The apartments are the most spacious I have yet seen and were absolutely spotless, with the maid attending on a daily basis.
The family run complex has its own taverna, which offers a good selection of decent food. 10% is offered here to all residents.
The pool is also spotless, of a good size and has its own water slide-much to the delight of the kids!
Eddie, who seems to be constantly working, is fun and always friendly and professional. He thinks nothing of waiting on you by the pool for as long as you want.
The resort itself seems to be centred on one main strip, which runs from one end of Tingaki to the other. On here you will find an array of shops, tavernas, hire shops and of course the tour operators, who offer a much better deal than all of the travel agencies put together!! Do shop around for the best deal though, we managed to get a free trip thrown in to the price as we opted for three trips- can’t quite remember the price, but I remember wondering how they did it for the price!

Hi, my partner Simon and I went to Sunshine last year with two of our friends Kat and Graham. We had a great time there thanks to the friendly staff Zena and Eddie they were our friends all holiday and wanted no more than to make our holiday as relaxing as it was. The best cocktails made by Eddie very nice and strong and the food there amazing and a just about £4.00 a meal you would have paid £15.00 for in Leeds. The whole holiday was made by them, we are already looking to book for next year xx
