this should not be classed as a hotel. bathroom facilities very poor no bath, shower inside room only seperated by curtain; toilet area very small room very small, but clean had to go to sister hotel for food and swimming pool, this was just a place to put your head down not reccommended for families ,lift very small held only two people and luggage.the building inside and out was very old and needs extensive renovations.

Please avoid this hotel if you can. It has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in.



I wasn't expecting much as I didn't pay a lot for the accommodation and I know you get what you pay for but if you want some sleep on your holiday then this is not the place to be.



The noise is constant 24/7. It is situated on a very busy street, both people and traffic. If you have booked then ask for a room at the back of the hotel, it's quieter but the disadvantage is that you look onto 4 brick walls and some very dodgy residents living in the apartment overlooking the hotel.



Please also be aware that not all the rooms have a toilet and some no showers. You do have your own facilities allocated along the corridor.



The rooms were cleaned every day but they are very very dated. The whole place needs a really good revamp; it is in a very poor state. I am not normally a person to complain but I was not on my own, infact I didn't speak to one person in the hotel that was happy. Lots of people were asking to be moved.



The Bristol Park Hotel where you go for your meals is only a couple of minutes walk away and this Hotel is ok.



The food was good. Nothing special but the same as you get in most of the hotels in Spain.

The self catering apartment (room 030) we were allocated at the Portonovo Apartments was shabby, grubby, dark and in need of some serious refurbishment! It also smelt very smoky!



There was plaster hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom and the tiles looked like they would fall off if you accidentally knocked them while showering.



Talking of showering...there was only enough water in the boiler to heat water to wash the dishes...so how you're meant to accommodate 4 people, heaven only knows.



The bed linen was never changed during the week, however the towels were changed once during our stay and the 'maid service' was daily although they only mopped the floors.



Thankfully Puerto Rico was fantastic and the weather was even better.



I'd definitely return to Puerto Rico but certainly won’t be staying at the Portonovo Apartments.
