Hotel Mar Blau

Cracking little 2 star hotel with lovely views over Dove park and the sea. It's minutes away from the old town and the food is good! Stay here if you're happy amongst the Spanish and don't want chips with everything! Mar Blau doesn't have a pool or gardens but I can recommend it for a winter break. Sea view room is a must! Entertainment is geared towards the Spanish but I went out every evening into the old town! This hotel is clean as a new pin, in a perfect setting and I will deffinately return!

Great small hotel in the best setting in Benidorm, no pool or fancy gyms but good honest clean well run value for money. Food was plentiful and well presented, great choice at every meal nothing to much trouble for the friendly staff. Small bar lounge area very relaxed atmosphere. Prices very fair bottle red wine at meal times only 3Euros, we stayed a week full board at a cost of £130 each and where well satisfied. 1 minute to the beach 3 minutes to Old town centre. My husband and I are in our late 30's and we booked this hotel for a weekend break. The hotel is situated in the old town and is on the lovely clean promenade and opposite the beach, the views are great for the sea and people watching. The hotel has 8 floors, ask for as high as possible and a sea view. At night the patio doors were open on the balcony and you could hear the sea - bliss! just magic cant be faulted stayed on full board great food great staff we had trouble with a noisy fan they had fixed it within a couple of hours . we sat on the balcony and watched the boats in the harbour . friendly bars 50 metres up the road dove park say hi to jeff only trouble i cant find a travel agent who does this hotel in may any help would be appreciated

Stayed for one week on a half board basis. Hotel very pleasant, rooms clean, food good, staff friendly. Only a few minutes walk to the old down and the beach is just across the road. Only minus point was that our room was at the back of the hotel so didn't have much of a view. Definitely would go back but would pay the extra to have a seaview room. Real good value for money.

We are by no means pretentious but we like our comfort on holiday and have not stayed in a 2 star hotel since our student days. On this occasion however we decided that as we were on a walking holiday and would spend little time in the hotel we simply needed a clean and comfortable place to sleep. We selected the Mar Blau on its location alone and this was our first good decision -on the quieter Poniente beach & a stone's throw away from the harbour and the old town it could not be bettered! Returned yesterday from a 5 day break at the Mar Blau - you must have a sea view room the higher up the better (it's only 7 floors). Some reveiwers have indicated this is a top quality hotel, the location could not be better however, it is a 2 star hotel with 2 star quality food and rooms. It can be noisy (other guests not the location) and you may wait a while for the single small lift if you don't do stairs, but you get what you pay for and if you want a cheap and cheerful place to stay it's fine but I would suggest you make do with... more

We had a wonderful 9 days stay in Mar Blau in October 2006. The position of the hotel was excellent and it lived up to all the reviews and more. We arrived late and there was a meal for us in the dining room... very unexpected but appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel though small was clean and the food good. We hope to go back this year.

We stayed at the Mar Blau during the Benidorm Fiesta and had a close up view of the daytime beach fireworks `not for the faint hearted!!` Make sure you book a sea view worth every euro. This hotel is much better than its 2 star rating. Rog & Bez Leics.

This is the tenth time we have stayed in Benidorm and it was definitely the best Spanish holiday we have ever had. The hotel was absolutely wonderful! The staff were the most friendly and helpful we have ever dealt with and the position of the hotel is one of the best in the town, with wonderful sea views. Well worth the money. Local restaurants are very good value for money, with a good variety of dishes on the menu. We only had bed and breakfast, but found the hotel food good quality.
