Couldn't have been happier!
Stayed at El Faro the last week in July 2004 and it was fantastic. We booked a last minute holiday in a named resort with unnamed accommodation, and as we had never done this before we weren't expecting anything fancy. It was such a surprise when we got there and found the pool, games room, entertainment, in fact all the facilities you would expect from a holiday for twice the price that we paid! The staff were lovely, particularly Maggie and George who did the night shift. Our apartment was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. The view from our 20th floor balcony was amazing and my husband and I very quickly 'forgot' we were both scared of heights! We are moving to Spain in a couple of weeks and will definitely be popping back to El Faro to say Hi and would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody who wants to go to Benidorm. Location-wise it was perfect, at the quiet end of the beach and a 6 euro taxi fare to all the nightlife Benidorm has to offer. Also, after your big night out at'The Square' you can rest assured of a good nights sleep as El Faro is beautifully peaceful at night. Can't recommend it highly enough.... go see for yourself ;o)
I loved it
Well what a great time we had. Rooms, views and staff all fantastic. Especially Peppe, the barman who worked from midnight til 8am and had to cope with all of us who had a late drink. Definetly going back. Thank you so so much.
Bar Open till 7am!!!!!!
I had a great time at El Faro appartments in Benidorm. The hotel staff are great espically the two Georges (one of which speaks English with a perfect northern accent! Class!). We were up on the 15th floor and had the most amazing view of the beach and peacock island, which is even better a night. I recomend Beer Academy, which is two minutes up the road (walking away from Benidorm, past the Chinese restaurant) where the staff are fantastic (Becca, hubby and lovely Ryan) and the food is even better!
People Who Say that part of benidorm is Boring!
This is the second time that I have stayed at the El Faro. I think that this part of Benidorm is lovely and people who say it is boring, obviously havent been there! The El Faro provides entertainment most nights a week (karaoke, bingo, play your cards right, and a quiz). The rooms are what you need. Who goes on holiday to spend most of it in their rooms!?!? If you do stay at the El Faro, i would recommend going to Ginger Nuts. Its a minutes walk and the staff there are fantastic! The El Faro itself is a lovely place. The staff are lovely. Maggie, well what can you say about Maggie? She is a gem! The pool is a great size, with a seperate childrens area. Most of the pool edge is shaded. The kids room is brilliant if you want a night on your own without the kids, but also like to know where they are!
loved it
12 of us were there in sep 2003 last year we loved it so much we are back in sep 2004 staff were brill with us and the kids appartments nice and clean cant wait to see you,s all again.
Great views from the balcony!
I spent a week there at Xmas. The apartments are good, large and clean.Very spacious balcony, which seemed to get the sun all day long, with fab views of the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful.Good sized pool.Few minutes from beach and excellent bread/cake shop which never seemed to shut. Very quiet, with few people around when I was there. Chinese restaurant few minutes away does excellent value for money menu of the day. Bus stop few minutes walk for buses to centre, or 20/30 minutes to get to centre if you walk it yourself. If you like being away from it all, go for it! I would certainly go there again!!
EL FARO BIG THUMBS UP !!
The EL FARO is very acceptable, clean, and very very friendly, most of the people i met there were people returning as regulars. Rooms and cooking area were plenty spacious, everything supplied - all you needed to cook [if you wanted to] was to walk to the local shop 200 yards away.I checked this place out on the web and was pleased i accepted other postings on it. The EL FARO is set just 50 meters from a fantastic long clean white sandy beach [you can see this view from all rooms here ].For 80 cents [ peanuts] the bus takes you right into the main very busy shops clubs cabarets fantastic eating places, get a taxi back for around 6 euro .Take a walk to your right on the sea front and discover a lovely cove called FINESTRAT its beautifull and get a bumber breakfast at THE OLD SHIP for around 5 EUROS .So YES go to this aparthotel as a lovely lady called Maggie is what its all about , Maggies there to help and she is truly very friendly and makes you feel very welcome [whatever she is getting paid should be doubled ]. Away from the hustle and bustle in beautiful surroundings you will love it A previous posting stated the lifts were noisy , theyre not now as they are brand new !So if you go say hello to Maggie from PAUL&JACKIE
Very Average
We have just returned from a weeks break in Benidorm, staying in the El Faro apartments (Oct 2003). We find these reviews very useful so thought only fair to give our 'honest' opinion. The apartments themselves are very well located for a relaxed holiday in mind (they are based in the old town). They are extremely close to the lovely beach (1 minutes walk) and some excellent restaurants (the local Italian and Chinese are both lovely). The apartments are VERY BASIC, altho all rooms have sea views, which is a nice bonus. Clean, but not spotless. The bedding and towels changed once a week - don't bother asking for more towels as they won't give you any. The staff themselves were a mix of personalities, some very helpful and friendly, some the complete opposite. There is a games room for the kids, with Internet access, however we were very dissapointed that only two of the 6 games were in working order. We would recommend this to non-fussy families who are looking for a basic break away, with no frills. Finally, if you do go, make sure you check out the Smugglers Rest for some awesome food. Perfect
We stayed in June 2003 and thought it exellent. The apartment was so spacious with everything we needed and we thought the utility room such a good asset. We've never stayed in an apartment before that had such a well placed and designed utility room, in fact never had a utility room before. The corner balcony was ideal for views in every direction and the apartment was wonderfully cool - just right after being out in the sun. The very near proximity of the local bus stop, beach and restaurants could not have been any more ideal. All in all - excellent.
Loved it
I took my grandaughter to these apts her first trip abroad and we found them very clean and well equipped. The staff were very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Benidorm and although we were at the quiet end of the resort,we found plenty to keep us occupied, and it was only a short bus ride to the busier part. The bus stop is only at the bottom of the street from the appartments as is the beach. The pool and pool area were very clean.I would certainly go again, and consider it an ideal place to take my other grandchildren for their first trip abroad.
