Had a wonderful (and cheap) out of season break there.

No, its not luxury and there is no pampering, but you get a bright spacious clean apartment that you can call your own.

You get clean sheets and towels after a week, but other than that you are left alone.

We found adequate pans plates and cups (perhaps people didn't look in the dresser in the living room?)

We are looking forward to going again in January 2009. Its just what we want!

Arrived at the appartments about 00:30,lady from the juke box gave us a lift to collect the keys free of charge from another hotel.Appartment was clean, tidy but basic. No noise what so ever during the 7 days there. The Pool is cleaned every day and the snack bar is brilliant.I Would not hesitate to return to the same appartments. The menu at the Juke box is also worth looking at,some real good homecooking.

I read the comments on the hotel before we left, & knew what to expect. We too had to collect the keys from another hotel, but a very kind lady from the Juke box bar down the road gave us a lift there & back. A deposit is required in most hotels in Spain, so nothing new there. Getting in the room, I was pleasantly surprised, big, spacious, clean, but that was in the dark. next morning we got to see the appartment in the light, not very clean at all, my wife scrubbed the place before using any facilities. The cleaners only called once in the ten days we where there, & that was only to change the towels & sheets. The pools small, but because the area is small you get to know all the other guests. The bar & restaurant at the side is excellent, & reasonably priced. Although the hotel is situated on a hill, it is close to the main area of town. But i surpose you get what you pay for at the end of the day. But if your a Howard Hughes, dont stay here.

i was disgusted at the state of the pool you couldnt even see the bottom for the water was so dirty. we were there for a week and never had a cleaner or clean towels. we arrived at 8:30pm and no one was on reception we had to go to a different apartment out of our way to pick up the keys, then when we finally found it they asked us for 100euros or £70 and because we didnt have that on us they wanted our passports but we didnt give them in case they wouldnt give them back. overall the apartments were a big disappointment it was up the top of a hill away from everything we would never go back or recommend it to anyone.

When arriving at the appartment it seemed basic but ok, then when it came to booking in everything went wrng, we were told that we hadnt reserved a room even though we had confirmation of the booking & payment in full..the guy on reception couldnt understand us we couldnt understand him and it took about 4 hours from arriving at the apprtment to be allocated a room!

The room was clean and quite spacious but everything went wrong, we rarely had hot water and wasnt enough for the 4 of us in the room to get a hot shower, the shelf fell out of the wall, we had no lock on the balcony door, the chairs wer broken, the lights wouldnt work in the bedroom if we was using a plug socket at the same time! in the end it just got worse for us! Self catering was impossible, there was no kitchen appliances to be able to use...

I wouldnt ever think of stayin there again

We arrived at the Don Gregorio around lunch time where we were ask to pay a deposit of 100 euros or 70pounds, as we already knew and expected it on our arrival. On the 4th day of our holiday we were shocked to find out that we had no hot water, when we went to reception to tell the man he didnt understand and kept saying "water in 1 hour" he couldnt speak a word of english. The day before we left we had to collect our deposit, so at 4pm when reception re-opened until 8pm we went to get our deposit but the man from reception was nowhere to be found. he arrived back at 7:45pm which we found shocking.

I wouldnt recomend this to anyone it was worse than what we expected for our money.............................................AWFUL PLACE TO STAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Got back this morning and I was fully prepared for completely roughing it when I read other people's comments about Don Gregorio.

It was good!!!!!

It is basic but then for the price what do you expect?! It was clean, and in good condition. The porter and snack bar people are friendly and helpful. The pool is a bit on the small side but nice. I've slept on much worse beds when I've been away before too.

There was a big fridge which would easily hold your weeks shopping with a small freezer section too. There was plenty of cutley and crockery and a whistle kettle. There were 2 electric hobs and pots and pans as well. There is plenty of storage and a coin operated TV which was only 1 Euro for an hours viewing. There was Sky Movies too which was good. The balcony is really fairly big and has a table and 4 chairs.

The lifts were fine, they move with a bit of a jolt so hold onto your belly if you have a hang over!! When you go up in the lift, there is a door you have to push to get out - don't worry you're not trapped lol!!

The only bad thing I will say is that we arrived at 11pm, and you have to take a cab to Buena Vista Hotel in Calle Cuidad which is about a 3 minutes away, and it's a pain finding a cab. We were very lucky and had an ex-pat help us out.

Overall, very good and great value for money!!

When reading the reviews about this appartment was very worried what to expect, but obviously unlike other people i understand the saying what do you expect for your money. Arrived afternoon time, got the keys and was also asked for a deposit which we were told about before hand so had it ready! Rooms were very clean, location is up a slight hill, but wasnt to bad when walkin back. In a nice and quite area very quite of a night. George who was the porter and also worked on reception was very helpfull with anything we needed. Would recomend askin for your deposit the day bofore you leave if you are getting picked up early as george will not be there other wise. Reception hours were between 9-1 4-8 if you arrive out of them times you have to travel up the road a bit to collect your keys. All in all was a lovely place to stay, would definitly reccomend it. Over all would say that the people who have written about there holiday being awful because of the accomidation need to come to terms with the fact that even if the accomidation is awful, the holiday is what you make it! will be returning in 3 wks! xxx

Apartment was very clean but one of the blankets on the twins beds did have a stain on it which suspiciously looked like blood. Also had small bits of paper stapled to the corners of all linen on bed which I think was to indicate what hotel the linen belonged to for laundry purposes. Just felt a bit tacky and uncomfortable to sleep in.

Beds were also VERY noisy and creaked endlessly. My sister and I found it difficult to sleep as we could hear everyone elses beds above us and below creaking. The noise was horrendous.

We arrived outwith the designated times so travelled to the other hotel to pick up our keys and were told we should have looked for the Porter at the hotel. But kindly he came and picked us up and took us back to the hotel. We were asked for 100 euros as a breakables deposit but you can only get this back on your departure date between 9-10am only.

TV are worked on a meter and one euro gives you 100 minutes of television.

We stayed for five days and our towels were not changed. Also, only enough hot water for one short shower, and then you have to wait an hour for the water to heat up again.

Door to apartment was difficult to open and lock.

Apartment perfect if you plan to be out a lot but would feel uncomfortable to stay there again.

When we arrived it was a Sunday and the reception was closed so we had to go to a different hotel to pick the keys up which was a bit inconvenience.

When we got in our apartment on the 8th floor we were pleasantly surprised, as I had read some reviews and were quite worried what they were going to be like.

We had 2 nice balconies and the apartment was basic but clean. It was in a good location slightly up a hill but not too bad. I would definitely stay there again. Security was very good and we felt safe there.

I read the reviews before and I was very worried. I collected my apartments keys next to the Levante club, as I was told to on the e-mail.

Then when me and my 3 friends arrived at the hotel it was very clean.

All the basics were there and all the rooms were clean as well as the towels, beds etc.

The person at the reception was kind as well.

Apartments not as bad as the reviews I read before we departed.

The porter was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the only electrical appliance available was a two ring cooker no oven, grill or micro wave.

But the location was brilliant with plenty of great value cafes very close.

The drop in cafe at the bottom of the street, served an excellent breakfast complete with potato farls at a very reasonable price.

Stayed at Don Gregorio with my husband. I had read the reviews before I went and was really scared to as what we would find.

We had a great week. Felt very secure in the rooms. Very clean. Good friendly porter, (key holder).

Would be a good thing if there were more towel changes.

It is in a great spot, but up a hill which was good exercise.

Rooms are basic but are clean and have every thing you need for the stay.

Over all we had a good time and would go back there.
