A lot for your money!

Jul 2011, Ricky

Stayed there with 4 friends for a week this summer (2011). The price per person per night is amazing. The only complaints I have are small and didn't make the holiday any less enjoyable - the beds were a bit firm and the street noise at night was very noticeable but this didn't matter since I was so tired every night, I just conked out. The apartments are right in with the shops, super markets, clubs, restaurants and bars and very close to the beach- only a 2 minute walk. Perfect for students. Don't stay there if you are looking for luxury, but it's more than adequate!

Excellent Apartments definately going back

May 2011, Lynn

I have just returned from spending a week in these apartments with my mother at 71, three 19 year old teenagers and a 7 month old baby and cant fault them - before I went I had read reports, some good some bad - access for wheelchairs and prams can be via the back entrance from the shops - there is no need to go up 10 steps.
I will admit that it can be a bit noisy on the weekend but the ideal location makes up for this - ideally centered for everything and you can actually see the sea from the balcony in some rooms.
There is everything you need in the apartments and if it isnt there the staff are only to happen to get you whatever you need - we had a sofa bed and after a few days it was uncomfy - so the staff brought in another bed!
I would highly recommend the Pop Inn Bar - which is about 2 mins walk away - near the information centre - the meals are all home cooked and delicious - breakfast especially brilliant and the couple who run the bar are very nice and go out of their way to make you feel very welcome.
All in all the holiday was a great success and I am definately going back - hopefully later in the year to the avenida

i have stopped at these apts on a number of occasions over the xmas period...the rooms are clean ,basic, and comfortable..the staff are excellant and helpful and friendly..also they are situated in the heart of the hustle and bustle of benidorm..ideally located to access both beaches..but only 2 min walk to levante...a friend who was in a wheelchair also stopped there and said how helpful the staff are...plus you can use facillities at avenida hotel opp.

  • Advice: i've stopped there and would recommend friends to as well

Holiday from hell

Me and my family stayed at the avenida apts for 14 days, first day we got there they put us in the wrong room and 2 days into our holiday we was moved into a much bigger room which was very basic but clean. Then we found that the shop under our new room was been renovated the noise started at 7am every morning and went onto 8pm it also caused so much dust within our apartment room and the hall way outside our door.
Access with prams and disable is very limited as you have 10 steps to get up to the reception area.
If you are one of the unlucky ones to get a street balcony then take your ear plugs as you will not get any sleep due to noisy people outside and the bin wagons coming around 3am.
Tips for your holiday ROOMS TO AVOID FOR NOISE DUE TO BUILDING WORKS 108,208,308,.

We came here in April 2008, we had a really good holiday here at the Avenida. The apartment was clean and fresh. Yes we did look out onto a fairly busy street but how nice it was to see the locals go about there daily business, just strolling from one shop to another. I came here with my 8 year old son and his grandma and they both enjoyed the holiday very much. The beach is only down the road like 2 mins away, what more could you ask for.

Hi Don't listen a holiday is what you make it, some people you just can't please. Apartments were basic but what do you expect for what you pay! Beds were clean and comfortable, bathroom small but ideal for all you need for a short-stay, air con great really needed it as very hot hot! Clean towels every 2-3 days and clean sheets every 3-4 days, maids didn't clean apartments but it's self catering if you want someone to run hand n foot to you book a hotel. Reception staff were great very helpful, treat them the way you would like to be treated! We had a room on the 5th floor looking over to Hotel Avenida no noise once patio doors closed at night, didn't hear bins being emptied balcony was really big it was great, could watch street artists. Overall we had a great holiday and would certainly book again so near beach!

bit worried when we arrived in benidorm and didnt get taken right to the hotel doors, thats because the street is for pedestrians though! Apartments are fantastic.. if you can get an end one.. it was huge compared to the other ones we saw. I went with three 17 year old girls and we had a great time, we were so safe, the people at reception were great and looked after us so much. The beach is so close, it was perfect.. right in the action but no noise.. its fair to say the balcony doesnt live up to much if your on the inside but id rather a bit of privacy than facing the street. Nothings overly expensive and the hotel and pool is across the road.. literally about 6 steps away! fab holiday.. nightlife was great too.. buy one get one free drinks most places!!

Just arrived back from the avenida...

Just arrived back from the avenida apartments in benidorm , nice friendly staff. Our room was over looking a road. Was a little noisy, but we where in benidorm and was to be expected. If booking independently ask for a room on the 4th or 5th floor and over looking the road as the other rooms have little or no view at all. We was lucky and got room 418. We did here of some complaints over a strange smell but did not experience any in our room. Location is brill, right in the middle of old and new benidorm, so a slow night in the old town or a party filled night ( all night if want it) in the new, it`s all there.

I cannot stress enough how awful...

I cannot stress enough how awful these apartments were!
Firstly we arrived, having booked two apartments and were told that there was only one apartment, we had to live out of our suitcases for two days until it was sorted out.
The fridge was on overdrive, was overheating so much that the rubber on the door was burning, as you can imagine it was a lovely smell! And the hot water didn't last long enough for 3 people to have showers.
Upon looking out onto the balcony we were confronted with a rubbish tip on top of the roof of the building opposite (about 2 or 3 metres away). They had even made a home for two pigeons out of an old sofa and a cupboard! The courtyard itself was boiling as all the air conditioning units back out from there. After complaining about our view and the smell we were shown another room facing the same view! As a result we weren't able to sit out on the balcony - a shame as it is usually a regular thing to sit and have a drink on the balcony before going out.
The rooms across the other side were much nicer apparently, but were mostly saved for the spanish.
The only good things I could say is that the air conditioning worked perfectly (if not loudly!) and the reception staff were polite. Also the hotel was only a 5 min walk to the beach.
To be honest though all the problems really spoiled what should have been a great holiday. I've stayed in much cheaper places before and they were nowhere near as bad as this place!
If you are thinking of staying here - please don't - you have been warned!

Bad points: Noise level from street....
5 / 10
Nov 2007, Miss VJ DEENEY

Bad points:
Noise level from street.
Pool is absolutely tiny with the sun starting to disappear at approx 5pm behind buildings.
Sun lounge area was difficult to get seated.
Maid was hardly there and the day it was in desperate need of mopping due to sand all she did was put new towels in bathroom.
Boiler played up in room and air conditioning unit on balcony leaked badly with heavy rusting.
The only view of the sea we got was when we hung over balcony and looked left.
Shower curtain was mouldy.
Pool bar stocked with hardly anything.
Bedroom window was right on corridor as was the bathroom, with loud noise and the worry someone could just lean in window if it were unsupervised.
Horrible smell in corridors and bathroom.
Parking was an absolute nightmare! Promised a space in the hotel car park, we arrived with our rental, and there was no space. We proceeded to spend the next two weeks feeding parking metres which weren't even near the hotel!* If you decide to stay here, my advice to you is don't hire a car!*
Good points:
Staff were friendly with adequate english.
Apartment seemed clean on arrival.
Plenty of bedding and towels.
Staff eager to aid my mother-in-law who had recently broken her leg and was in crutches.
Air conditioning was really good, even got too cold sometimes :)
As you can see, the bad outweigh the good. I would not like to stay here again, I know there are better places than this for cheaper, and to be honest, I wouldn't waste my money again. Hope this helps you decide if it is what you are looking for - don't expect it to be quiet or anything other than basic.

Our room was on the fourth floor and...

Our room was on the fourth floor and facing the Avenida hotel and overlooking a very busy street, which proved to be noisy, both day and night.
Rubbish as collected at approx 3.30 in the morning and the roads were swept about half hour before. Due to the noise from this and groups of young people who'd been drinking we were kept awake every night.
The apartments were clean when we arrived, but weren’t cleaned once during our stay, and the bathroom smelled. The staff were very friendly and helpful though.
The apartments are very close to the beach which was a huge bonus because the pool in the hotel was about the size of a postage stamp. Not a place to go if you want a relaxed holiday.
