I know that this is nearly a year old but I nearly blew my top when I saw some of the awful reviews the hotel had been given.
My partner and I went to the hotel and our first time in Egypt having done some serious research on the web. The only faults that the hotel had was that it was a newly built hotel and this reflected in the price, so not all the facilities on offer had been completed but any travel agent is obliged to inform you of that so to the sour grapes reviewers I can only ask what they expected?
The food was samey but that is true all over the world, the pool and gardens were clean. The staff were excellent and friendly. The night life was dire but we went for a relaxing holiday and got one! It was wonderful!! Our room cleaner was fantastic and after having had only one minor problem with a faulty shower (fixed within an hour) Mohammed who was off duty at the time came over and cleaned up the bathroom and gave us clean towels.
I have travelled world wide in some top rate hotels and paid top rate prices, for value for money the Holiday Inn hit all the right spots from the excellent staff to the brill insect free (they spray the plants each night) gardens.
Our only gripe? Well it was the only time I was ashamed to be English when some pompous man complained about one of the beach attendants because although the attendant was running to him in the heat of the noon day, he did not get all the way down to the beach in record time to put up an umbrella for the tourist, this was in despite of empty sunbeds and umbrellas being in abundance, the consequence of which was that the attendant was sacked by the hotel manager after a complaint by the man.
Go to this hotel, we certainly will later this year. But please remember, you are on holiday in their country and don’t think that money will buy you class or respect, a few harsh words in the wrong place could ruin someone’s livelihood.

I feel the need to write this review as I was upset to read two bad reviews on this hotel. It is always a good idea for people to research their location a little bit before booking a holiday and then you do not expect something that will not be on offer.
My husband and I wanted a relaxing, lazy holiday and that is exactly what we got. The staff at the hotel could not do enough for us. The hotel was relatively empty when we stayed there and they certainly made us feel special. This hotel is not advertised as a 5* hotel but rather 4*. The rooms were large, clean and made up every day. There are three swimming pools including a covered kid’s pool and these were cleaned every day.
Your sun loungers were positioned for you and turned in line with the sun whilst you were swimming. The restaurant was air conditioned and the food was well presented, being a vegetarian I always wonder whether I will be able to eat much on holiday, the scales showed this was not a problem when I got home! The night time entertainment was quite basic but there is a 24 hour movie channel in your room.
We had dinner with friends staying at a nearby hotel (Radisson SAS) and were glad to get back to the peace and tranquility of the Holiday Inn, having had to queue at the bar for 30 minutes to get a drink at their hotel. Lastly, they offer the most amazing Egyptian massages for around £10 for an hour - we found this to be the perfect end to perfect day after day after day.
We are booked to go back and are very much looking forward to it - I thoroughly recommend it for people who just want to lie on a lounger and talk to their partners whilst getting a fabulous tan.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the staff were wonderful, friendly and obliging, the pool was very quiet, in fact often we were the only people in it.
If you are looking for an exciting and action filled holiday, then do not go here, but if you want to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather, the pool and the red sea it is an excellent choice. I have never been anywhere else that enabled me to stand in waist deep water surrounded by coral and brilliantly coloured fish all for free.
If you take the time to speak to the staff, you will find that they are exceptionally friendly and willing to chat about mostly any subject. Admittedly, the hotel was relatively empty during our stay, so staff had ample time to treat guests to a very high standard of service.
If I have one criticism, it is that the food was quite repetitive, however, it was adequate and always served with a smile.
I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel, I can honestly say that I relaxed more there than I have ever done anywhere else including the Caribbean.
Incidentally, the "Arab chap camping in the grounds", as he was described in another report is called Mohammed, and is one of the most welcoming people one could wish to meet, he makes a great cup of tea and his cherry tobacco is to die for !! All you have to do is take the time to find out.

After reading the two reviews on this site I felt that it was important to offer a more up to date opinion.
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 2 week holiday at this hotel; we both were extremely sad to go and could easily have stayed longer.
The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to help you in any way they can. The waiters in the restaurant are attentive, friendly, funny and have big smiles on their faces all of the time. The lads in the Speed Bar do their very best in difficult circumstances...I don’t think they’d ever had to cope with it being so busy before. The pool and beach attendants are unbelievable, you really are treated like royalty; if they see you doing something as simple as lowering the back rest on your lounger they will run over and do it for you.
The rooms are gorgeous: HUGE beds with different towel creations each day and the air conditioning is really powerful.
The location is breathtaking with the Red Sea on one side, where you look out over the mountains of Jordan, Saudi and Israel, and the Sinai Mountains on the other side. At sunset the sun disappears down behind the Sinai mountains and the mountains across the Red Sea cause a stunning red shadow all over the water.
The hotels own private beach is the ideal place to set off snorkelling and is teaming with life even on the shore, so younger snorkellers or beginners won’t miss out. In the afternoon it is possible to walk out ankle deep over the rocks and have fish, hermit crabs, starfish etc surrounding you.
We are already looking for a return trip, not just back to the area but to this specific hotel. We HIGHLY recommend it.

Upon our arrival to this hotel it was clear that this was not a 5* hotel by any means , there is no tennis courts but just a pile of rubble, there is some Arab man camping out in the middle of the complex, no nightlife entertainment what so ever you basically are the entertainment, the so called gym consisted of 4 pieces of equipment in a little room. The gardens were just a mud patch and the heated pool, well lets just say a polar bear would have been at home in it.
staff I have to say were very nice but the food was a canteen standard. You even have to pay £5 per hour for the pool table! the shopping centre is just 3 shops with some annoying idiot trying to sell you something that looks like toilet roll.
We were there for 2 days and with 8 other people decided to move to the Radisson hotel, which is 100% better. Libra and who ever else say this is a 5* are lying it is no more than a 2*.If you have booked you will want to change I promise you.

The hotel was supposed to be 5* but on arrival it was not finished the gym was not open, the tennis courts were not open, the gardens where still being finished off , machines we where just left at the side of the paths & hosepipes to water the shrubs were over the paths. There was someone camping in the middle of the resort in a bedwin type tent.
The rooms and the staff where very good the staff could not do enough for you which helped to make the holiday better and the weather got better towards the end of our stay maybe in a few years time when everything has got sorted I might go back . Who knows.

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks stay. We had a really relaxing time.
The staff couldn't do enough for us and so friendly.
The food was fairly good I would have liked to see more fish on the menu as I don't eat chicken or pasta! Two weeks of the same would have been a problem. I would rate the hotel 3* not 4.
All in all I would not hesitate to return and Abdul in the restaurant was fabulous.
