This is an excellent apartment hotel in a perfect location. The beach is literally outside of the hotel. The sun loungers on the beach are 6 euros but they are free around the hotel pool. We stayed for 2 weeks and there was never a day when all the sun loungers either on... more

Beautiful room with view across the sea. We were lucky and had a nice quiet room. The staff were all lovely and the place was really nice and clean. only complaint was the beds are a bit hard. An ideal spot for familys as the beach is so close. Over all it was excellent and the food brilliant.
Will be back again.

Just returned from Alykanas Viallage Apts, Zante, 04/08/08. Booked through Thomson. Very nice family place, no stag or hen parties, or teenagers drunk. Lots of resturants, never had one bad meal. Views from beach pool were fantastic. Other pool with entertainment bit too... more

Fab holiday, great resort. Just one complaint. If you have booked with Thomson/Portland and are travelling with a baby make sure you have booked a cot. When we arrived there was no cot in the room. We were told this was because we had booked a 'cot space' not an actual... more

This place is amazingly idyllic and is marketed as a couple/ family getaway. During the day it is perfect apart from the fact that this hotel charges to use loungers on the beach, use the air conditioning, the safe in the room. Which I think is laughable! At night the... more

Fabulous
This was our second year staying here. We contacted Gloria the hotel manager 4 wks prior to holiday to ask for sea front apartments on the top floor. Nothing was too much trouble for her, fabulous lady. Fantastic panoramic views. Only critism is that on holiday it would be nice not to have to get up so early just to get sunbeds as it seems matalans entire stock of towels are deposited on the beds at 7.30am. We also have our concerns that big changes are taking place for next summer to include football and games areas and much more. Although we have enjoyed both of our holidays here we dont think it will suit us next year. COPPEN FAMILY OF 4
Best hotel by far
We stayed at the Alykanas beach studios and apartments-ApartHotel (not to be confused with alykanas village) in July 2006, the hotel quality far exceeding our expectations and was much larger and better than the other hotels. The hotel offers studios as well as 2 bed apartments. We stopped in a 2 bed apt and it was fantastic, great view of the bar and beach, bath and shower, kitchen, and also a great balcony with table and chairs, the only downside seemed to be that if you wanted air con you had to pay extra for it and trust me it was very expensive so we decided to just bear the heat (what a mistake! :o) The rooms are cleaned to a great standard every day and fresh towels left, the linen was changed once a week. The hotel has 3 swimming pools in total consisting of a pool, child's pool and jacuzzi with plenty of sun beds for everyone. The restaurant was good and served decent enough food at a decent enough price. The bar was great with various drinks and cocktails (got absolutely hammered the 1st night!) The hotel offered various entertainment but nothing really for the younger people, the greek night and BBQ was worth the experience as the food was great, they hold the greek night every monday in season and is def worth being their for, we went the 1st week but not the 2nd as once you have done it you've done. They held other nightly entertainment such as bingo, etc. but im 20 not 80 so didn't stay for that! Theirs various things to do here as the resort is right on the beach you don't have to go far for the banana boats, jet skis and para gliding, etc., (wouldn't recommend the jet skis, $40 for 15 min!!) While we was there we did do two boat trips, the turtle trek and shipwreck, the shipwreck was excellent was a real fun day out with stops for swimming and the water at the shipwreck was the bluest i have ever seen! The turtle trek was absolute rubbish and we didn't see a single turtle! One great day we had out was renting quad bikes from just down the road this was also a laundrette) we were shocked that for $25 we got the bikes from 9am till 10.30pm! we had to put our own fuel in but this was only $5. The quad bikes were def a highlight of the hol for me and a great way to see the island. Not a long walk from the resort you will find various restaurants and bars including a chinese and indian! the night life is ok but not fantastic. (lagana tho is only about 30 min in a taxi and cost us $22 if you are wanting the busier nightlife) if you do go out to the bars in alykanas i would def recommend the DNA bar, the staff are FANTASTIC especial andre and penny, plenty of laughs and free shots! Overall we all enjoyed our stay here, the staff were very friendly and the resort was so much better than we imagined, the only downside was that it was listed as having kids clubs (a cpl who went with us took small children) which we didn't see any sight of, also this resort is listed as good for families, however there was quiet a few old people and complaints were put in against the kids for noise at the pool (other people also told us they had complaints put in against their kids making noise) Would just like to say thanks to al the staff for a fab holiday and the Kosmar rep Linzi. :o) Steven.
Best Holiday Ever
I Took My Husband Away For The First Time Without The Children, For His 40th Birthday. We Had Never Been To Greece Before, So We Were A Bit Cautious, The BEST HOLIDAY EVER, Food Was Fantastic, People Were Amazing. Will Be Going Back Again But With The Children This Time. I Would Like To Book Direct Next Time? Would This Be Possible? We Would Only Go Back To The Alykanas Beach Apart Hotel, The Accomodation And People Were Really Friendly, The Place Was So Clean, a Big Credit To All The People Who Work So Hard To Make The Holiday FANTASTIC.!!!!!!
Cant wait to go back...
We booked a cheap last minute deal didn't expect much at all for £'s. What a surprise, Great Apart hotel, service form all staff A1, very very well maintained, immaculately clean, Eating at hotel good for breakfast/lunch excellent didn't try evening,.5 minute walk into town gives you choice of many fabulous restaurants, Beach is 2 mins, shallow water you can go long way out before any drop. Next door is bar called Ammos drinks & food is great and fab service, family run traditional Greek cooking. It was quiet the week we were there, pool area ideal for families, this is sold as ideal familly location, we don't have any children and ideal for us too, you can have all the kids around you or not it's up to you plenty of places to sun bathe and relax, entertainment each evening if you want it, disco, karaoke, quiz, Greek night etc, expect noise till midnight, but nothing too crazy they seem to keep midnight as a cut off, but bar stay open till early hours, the cheeky little cocktails are to die for ..try the B52's!. We were told to expect it to be lot busier when UK school holidays start. We are quite choosy where we stay but needed a break as a last minute bargain this was fantastic. Would have no hesitation in paying full price. Planning on going back in September. A fantastic holiday!
Simply the best
We enjoyed a wonderful fortnight at the Alykanas Beach Village in the resort of Alykanas (self-catering) June 2006. It simply catered for anyone and everyone from senior citizens like ourselves to families. Spotlessly clean apartments (we had a sea view room 124). The room had telephone, TV (only one news channel English speaking) small bath with shower attachment - no water all over the floor on this holiday and a massive supply of toilet rolls. The kitchen had microwave, kettle and toaster which were a luxury. Bed linen was changed frequently and the floors mopped over every day. Although we were near the main bar there did not seem to be a lot of noise (even when the world cup football was being shown). There are three separate pools - one for games, a general pool in the centre of the complex and another one outside next to the beach. The beach is fantastic for little ones as it is very shallow at the waters edge and very safe for them to play. Reception staff always helpful. We would definitely recommend this complex for an enjoyable.
Very Good
Just back from a lovely holiday in alykanas. We had apartment 360 which in my opinion is the best available top floor with Sea and Pool view. The apartment was cleaned everyday and the place itself was very well kept. The people there were very nice although some staff could have been slightly friendlier. Prices are higher than in resort but that is normal. I thought the entertainment was pretty average with nothing new to offer, quizes, karaoke, greek night etc but the atmoshphere was nice. From the complex access to the beach is fantastic and the sea is generally warmer than the pool and it is very shallow therefore v safe. The resort itself was good with lovely eating places and nice bars. My favourite restaraunt being the greedy greek and the lemon tree, and I thought the best bar with amazing cocktails was heaven a small bar off the main street with christopher the barman who really was a good guy(lots of free shots). We did two excursions the turtle treck which I thought was a bit of a con as all you do is go on a boat and try to spot turtles we saw 1 about 100m away and 1 person had been on 3 times and not seen any. The other was a visit to Zante town which was ok but I thought the shopping was poor and quite pricey in comparison to Rhodes town and the sites like St Dennis's church although quite intresting was probalbly not worth the visit. Overall I enjoyed the holiday and it had much more good points than bad points although some people saying best holiday ever and such like may be getting carried away. Enjoy
Ideal Family Holiday Base
Stayed at the Alykanas Beach Village apartments for 1 week during May 2006. The complex is an ideal base for families and in an excellent location. Our apartment was clean and modern with a great view over the pool area. Plus points about the rooms - a bath (brilliant for our two small children), fridge, cooking rings, tv. On the down side - the complex allows people to reserve sunbeds with towels. By 8 am every morning there were very few beds unreserved. This isn't good news for families as you'll know it takes a long time to get going in the mornings with small children. I certainly wasn't going to join in the towel game as I don't agree with reserving beds. Also avoid the pool bar. Prices are unusually high. A Must for families - visit The Lemon Tree restaurant. This is based in old Alykanas and is so worth going to I can't emphasise it enough. The setting is lovely and the food is first class. There is also a brilliant play area for the children that is safe and enclosed. Other restaurants such as the Mantalayna and the Dionyssos have play areas that are either next to the main road or are unsafe for small children, however their food is also good. A free Horse and Carriage will take you to and from The Lemon Tree from outside the Alykanas Beach Village - our kids loved the ride.
jungle fever
As our first time in Zakinthos and as a resort we thought it was ideal for what we wanted for a laid back relaxing holiday. The apartment was clean, airy with a view of the large pool area and sea. It was ideal for a base so we could go off and explore the island. Alykanas has car/scooter hire, shops and travernas all within walking distance which was handy with Alykes a short walk away. The pool bar staff were great with a good sense of humour and played good music to get you in the mood for your holiday. We thought the big screen TV in the pool bar was great to watch the sport. Alykanas beach village is the ideal place for anyone who wants to get away from the built up'BRIT' resorts like laganas!! Locals are extremely friendly especially in the Jungle Bar in Alykes. Well worth a visit, and Iguana bar in Alykanas. We cannot wait to return to the beach appartments later this year. Highly recommended from chris & carol
Fantastic Relaxing
We have just returned from two fantastic weeks in Alykanas beach apart-hotel. Rooms very clean and spacious staff exellent very friendly, pool area very good for young children. Food and service for food i could not knock it. Only six steps from the beach and sea. Not much to do in the evenings. but for relaxing this is ideal place. We are so impress we will be returning next year.
fanatstic from denise and tony morris
this was our third year at Alykanas Beach. The last 2 years at Alykanas Beach Apart/Hotel. First no noisey kids , well done to all parents your kids were well behaved and pollite. Second the complex , clean and tidy, rooms immaculate, breakfasts served by Angelo and the staff first class. Third, no drunken yobs and no loud music. Remember in Greece at these places music is toned down at midnight. I think sometimes people get A B A Hotel mixed up with Alykanas Beach Village ( Next Door ) because we have never had any problems with kids , drunks or noise. We have done the mucky nappies and the ice creams, now its our turn to enjoy life and there is no better place to spend 2 weeks. We would not have come back if it was not first class and clean. P.S. Approx 40% of people there this year ( last 2 wks of July ) were there last year, think about it !!!!!!. Best places to eat Kostas , Romanca, Apollo,Levanti, Dionasys and the Chinese. The best places to drink The Catacombe ( If you like good views and varied music ), also Dilema Bar ( Near our Apart/Hotel ). Going back again in 2007, hope to see you there. Love tony & Denise Morris
