Altamar Apartments

We booked a late holiday to the Altamar and were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. The apartment was adequate for our needs, although we did have to pay 10 euros to hire a kettle for the week.
The apartments are built into a hill and although there are 2 lifts running from top to bottom the one on our side was frequently out of action.(It's o.k. running down 6 flights of stairs but not much fun going up them).
The view from our large patio, which had 2 sun-loungers, table with 4 chairs and clothes horse was stunning.
Entertainment was varied and finished by 12.30 so you could get a decent night sleep.

Not long back from Gran Canaria, stayed at the Altamar apartments, Apartment was first class plenty room, and ceiling fans, which you needed. Maid service every 2 days, which included clean towels and they even washed, dishes if they were left in sink. View from balcony was stunning, there are tables with four chairs and 2 sunloungers on every balcony. plenty sunloungers around both pools you didn’t need to sneak out early to get one. Service from staff was also first class, very polite and friendly, entertainment was also really good. No problems whatsoever, good food in restaurant and quite cheap compared to other places ;i.e. only 3.60 euros for half chicken and chips, between 5 & 6 euros elsewhere. All in all a fantastic holiday so much so we have already booked for next summer.

Fantastic holiday, apartment was small but made up for it with a great balcony with amazing view, me and my 3 mates spent a lot of time out on the balcony having some drinks and a laugh.
The pool was ok and plenty of sun loungers for everyone, the entertainment was good at times with different shows each night to suit all kinds of audiences, Big Gaz at the bar did a good job with the bingo and music during the day, happy hour every day at 4 was a great way to start the night of partying lol.
The europa centre which is more family orientated than the bigger commercial centre is good during the day but at night isn’t lively enough with no night clubs, but plenty of theme pubs including Scottish and Irish bars. The commercial centre has 2 night clubs on the bottom level called fibber mcghee’s and jokers which both r open till the early hours which being in the 18-21 group was great, linekars bar is a must with fat boy djing and making everyone laugh, plus cheap drinks :)

This was my second time at the Altamar, and each time has been fantastic, the rooms were good, the staff were really pleasant and friendly.
The food was very good but what made the holiday apart from the superb views overlooking the sea and the pool area was never too overcrowded was the entertainment crew which entertained you everyday and night. I have recommended this hotel to so many people and all of them have come back not disappointed. I do hope to go again next year.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Would suit families as loads of activities in the hotel. Although I went with a friend and we absolutely loved it.
Staff and reps are fantastic, facilities in the hotel also very good. 2 Pools, happy hour every day, evening entertainment and plenty to do during the day.
We stayed on a self-catering basis. We did not try the restaurant, although we did have some snacks from the bar which were lovely and great value.
The Altamar is based near the Europa centre, which is a smaller centre, but still loads of choices of bars, restaurants and shops. However a cab ride down to the larger commercial centre was only 4 euros, where you will find even more bars, restaurants and clubs open till the early hours.
