What an outstanding place! Although Amoudara is a quiet resort there’s no need to leave this ace hotel day or night. very clean and welcoming, on our 4am arrival we were met by the outstanding nightshift receptionist Matthew, a very charming young local man with first class English speech swiftly taking care of our reservation and cases and also providing us with hot food. On entering the very clean rooms your welcomed with complimentary hot and cold drinks and a bowl of fresh fruit. excellent swimming pool and sun bathing areas which are connected to a private beach with parasols and beds, where at certain times of the day you are given ice cool flannels by one of the lovely staff. Meals are provided either in the very plush restaurant or by the pool bar, the chefs cooking all of the food fresh in front of your eyes, a large selection of worldwide foods to please everyone. But the stars of the hotel are the entertainment team, Hungarian born Rita will provide you with endless sports and games in the pool and on the beach, be it water polo, volleyball, darts, French bowls, table tennis air hockey or pool she’s a star of her own making, after evening meal she’s joined by her lovable cute partner....Tunisian born “ebo”. Talking fluently in 7 languages he will make worldwide visitors welcome, with his dancing, disco’s, bingo and competitions for young and old. I take my hat off to Rita and ebo making me and my family feel like old friends from day one. 10 out of 10 for this hotel and staff. Wishing them all the best for the future.

Brilliant Holiday! Best so Far! Beautiful Place and lovely people. Rated 4* but I very close to 5*.
I have never felt so comfortable. Everyone so friendly never a dull face. We arrived at 4am and they had prepared food and drinks for the few of us that were arriving that night. Never had that before myself, its normally straight up to your accommodation. All so very welcoming. Very chilled out and relaxing, animation team great if you have kids.
Evening Entertainment lovely although very basic, disco, bingo, my favourite night was the green dancing, everyone gets up, lots of fun! I would back definitely. For a new hotel I expected a few teething problems but no way! Food is great 10/10 for the chef, always something for everyone and always different. Fresh Meats / Fish being carved daily all in front of you.
Again pleasant atmosphere! This is in the small town of Amoudara which is nice relaxing and you have the opportunity to going into Heraklion / Malia if you fancy a little more action. Pool Bar Staff absolutely brilliant, working long hours and still smile smile smile. Again lovely atmosphere. Thanks you for a brill holiday!!

We travelled as a group of 12 and as we were among the first guests at this hotel everything was brand new.
The staff were all helpful and apart from some of the smaller details everything was first class. Access was good, with automatic doors at the entrance and ramps throughout. The lift was small but operated to all levels. The surrounding area was flat with shops within walking distance.
The food was very good with a large selection for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. All well cooked and well presented. The promise of replenished tea, coffee and milk supplies was not always kept but they were provided when requested. Beach towels were available, in limited number at the beginning of the week and additional supplies came after a few days. The rooms were comfortable and well sized. Some with the added bonus of a sea view.
The animation (entertainment) was limited but good. Daytime activity around the pool and a kids club operated daily.
The evenings were filled with Greek dancing, a disco and various quizzes and games. These were all organised by Ebo and Rita, the resident team (their demonstration of Latin dance worthy of any dance floor). The beach and pool areas were kept clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds (no towels left on them).
The over bath shower caused concern due to the lack of a shower curtain. This resulted in a pool on the floor after each use. The poolside bar was well stocked and welcoming, especially when Froso was serving. If she asks you "what time is it?" whatever you say she responds with a cry "Raki time" and sets up a shot for all that want one.
There was no problem with noise and all entertainment ended at midnight. All of the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Manos seemed to always appear whenever there were bags to carry. A courtesy room was made available, with shower and towels, for our departure day.
A very enjoyable holiday very close to scoring 10 out of 10.

Returned Oct 1st from two weeks at the Neptuno Palace in Amoudara. This is a brand new hotel with good facilities and located directly on the beach. There were a wide cross section of European nationalities staying at the hotel - Russians, Poles, Swiss, French, Dutch to name a few.
4 STAR ALL INCLUSIVE - as far as European All Inclusive goes this is one of the best we have stayed in - if you are expecting Caribbean 4 star then you should go to the Caribbean!!
STAFF are all extremely welcoming & helpful - nothing is too much trouble - just ask & they will try and oblige.
ROOMS are well furnished, bathrobes, slippers & toiletries (soap & shower gel / shampoo from pump containers) are provided. Fridge & hairdryer in room, along with kettle & beverage supplies. Usual European TV channels, but hey, who goes on holiday to watch TV? CD/DVD player for the people who really cannot do without them! Bed linen & towels changed frequently.
FOOD is buffet style - again no complaints, always something different & all fresh.
RITA & IBO (Hakuna Matata)! work very hard trying to entertain their guests, - in so many different languages.
They do, however, rely on audience participation so do them a favour & join in if requested to do so.
TAXI transfers from Heraklion airport to hotel approx 15-20 minutes, expect to pay 15-20 euro for the trip - make sure the taxi driver knows where the Hotel is - some don’t as it is new.
LOCAL SHOPS, BARS & TAVERNAS within a five minute walk.
KNOSSOS is a must & easily reachable by public transport, buses run into Heraklion every 20 minutes - fare 1 Euro each way, then every ten minutes to Knossos, again 1 Euro each way.
We had a fantastic time and hope to go back in the near future.
Jan & Graham Harbon.
