We have just come back from our two week holiday at the resort. There were two adults, 5 yr old and 1 yr old in our party. For a start the name Alcudia sunvillage is wrong as it is not in alcudia at all. Alcudia is at least a 20 min walk from playa de muro or 10 mins in a... more

Just returned from 1 week at Viva with 5 year old child. In one word - fantastic. Children’s club and hotel entertainment was absolutely great. Pool area not crowded, even though it was mid August and plenty of sun beds. The apartment was a little on the small size but... more

Just returned with my friend. The room was nicely furnished and had maid service every day except Sundays and Thursdays. Safety deposit box in room, basic cooking facilities, which was fine because we mainly ate at the local Chinese or the gala nights in the resort (Abba... more

the best entertaiment ever!!!!
I just arrived from my holidays ,we were 3 couples and 4 kids, what should i say!! i really want to come back now. The rooms are ok, and the location perfect just 2 minutes from the beach, the food quite good but the service littel bit slow. ive been around the world on hollidays, jamaica, UE,valencia,Mallorca, italy .... well all over but the best entertainment its was in this hotel, specially the chief, Arturo a lovely, great and hard worker person, he made our hollidays!! always with a smile, looking and checking around really takeing care about everything, giving all in the shows as the sound and lights-tech.He gave everything to my kids and all the kids around, with the adults incredible he made me do things that i´ve never done before,my husband is still speaking about him. I worked in a hotel company in Greece i seen all kind of entertaiment and entertainers but like this guy !!!! just fantastic!! Thanks to him and all his staff, we will be back!!!!!! If you really want to enjoy a holliday just go to Viva Sunvillage and meet the entertaiment staff..
loved it
There were 4 adults and 2 children in our party. We thought the appartments were lovely, the important thing to me was that they were so clean. There wasnt many english there, but that didnt bother us. The reception was very helpful, especially sophie she was a gem. I liked the idea of the appartments being away from the pool area and the entertainment. The entertainment was o.k. The pool was lovely and clean, but the water was a bit cold. The children loved it, they had all the facilites they needed. On the whole, it was what we wanted, a nice quiet and relaxed holiday. we would recomend this place to people.
it was ok!!!
me and my dad and my sister stayed at the village in may it was nice but not da bestthe staff were really nice especially the lady antonio who worked in the shop.the night life there wasnt dat gr8 but they had some gr8 shops there and places to eat and also the beach was very nice.
ok - but not great
We stayed here in June 2005 for 9 nights 2 adults one child age 4.Apartment was ok but a bit dated and bedroom dark and drab. The entertainment was supposed to be daily for children but it wasn't maybe thats because it was a little early in the season. The pool was FREEEEEEEEZING. Great spa shop accross road and some nice restaurants not to far away. Apartments were a little diffcult to find. Ok place for a quick sunshine break but i don't think we'd go back.

From viva Hotels & Resorts we notice that our Mini Club for children is open for the Full Season and there are lots of activities for them. Please visit our Official Website for more information and special offers.

Great place to stay
This is an excellent complex to stay at, especially for those with young children. There is plenty to keep them occupied on site, and the beach and town are only a few minutes walk. The buffet food is good, especially on "Majorca night", and the breakfast choice is great. Unlike a previous review, I saw the food being layed out on the morning, not the night before. Entertainment is good too, but only if the audience participate. The only quibble I have is that I found the aprtments themselves a little small, but very clean however. I recomend staying here.
Excellent
My family stayed in the Sun village in September and all i can say is how fantastic it was. The rooms were more that adequate for the 4 of us and cleaned everyday but Thursday and Sunday. The entertainment staff really took to our youngest boy so that made his time there really special. The beach is about 5 mins walk away and it is really lovely. It doesnt go too deep until you get quite far out. Really nice blue sea which was still warm even in September. The hotel has its own shop and for everyday items like bread and milk was cheaper than the spar shop over the road. We found a lovely place to eat called Smiths the food was excellent and so was the staff. I found Muro a lovely place to stay the bus into alcudia was only 1 euro and only 1 euro 20 cents into C'an Picafort. Plent of shops and restaurants to eat at on a night.
EXCELLENT
We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the viva alcudia sun villa. my husband and i stayed there self catering with my 2 children aged 5 and 2. we booked the accomadation via med hotels and booked our flights seperately and saved a fortune doing it this way instead of going through a tour operator. on arrival the reception staff were very pleasant and helpfull. The apartment was very clean, the cooking facility was ok but there was no kettle or toaster, i think you had to hire one. We managed with the microwave. The airconditioning was a god send. The pool area was great it was never over crowded and you could still get a bed in the middle of the day even though the apartement was full. The staff at the restaurant was great the snack food was nice and not a rip off. For the younger children there is lots to do and there are all day activiites for the older ones. The entertainers did their best and was brilliant with the kids. The night time shows was ok but a little dated. we did eat in the restauarant 1 night and we found the food ok. It is very well situated and within easy walking to the beach. we ate out for most nights and had great food. Be warned there does seem to be alot of mozzy about and we got bitten alot. I would recommend these apartments, we were a little apprehensive with it only been 2 keys. we have stayed at airtours 4 star apartments before and this was better.
Disappointed
I have just returned from a two week break at Alcudia Sun Village. I was encouraged by the reviews I had read but this led to some disappointment when we got there. I was travelling with a big group of 29 people. My family consists of myself, my husband and my 16 year old son. First the positives. The apartments were clean and well maintained and the hotel staff most accommodating. The reception staff were fantastic. They moved three parties in our group after we had been allocated ground floor rooms when we asked for high floor rooms. The complex itself is clean and the pool area very pleasant. It never seemed overcrowded and we always managed to get sun beds even though we were in a large group. The entertainers as individuals were very friendly people but the entertainment was very disappointing. Sporting activities varied depending who was leading them and on several occasions memebers of our group organised their own football, rounders games etc. Sport is very male orientated. Evening entertainment was in house and lacked audience involvement. It was generally all over within an hour and during our two week stay several shows were repeated. Outside entertainment included a Flamenco show, Brazilian dancers and an illusionist. (Dated) There was nothing for teenagers to do in the evening, it is very much geared to younger families. One thing that did alarm us was the fact that food was put out in the restaurant in the evening for breakfast the next day and it was not refrigerated. When challenged about this the excuse was that it was there for late arrivals. Although self catering, we tried the restaurant one night and were not impressed. The bar staff service is very slow at all times of the day and they seemed generally disorganised. The complex itself is well positioned for the beach and two restaurants I would recommend are Elisa (2 minutes walk) and Smiths Irish bar. Both served up exceelent food. One last comment- take plenty of insect repellent. because of closeness to a river and lake we were bitten to bits!
Superb All round
I was staying at the Viva Alcudia Sun Village in the first 2 weeks in July. This is the first day back and all i could thik about was writing a review to say thank you for a wonderful holiday. I travelled with 3 children, all between 5 - 10 and i can say that this year out of all the other years we´ve been abroad with them has been extra special. The reason why is simple... The Entertainment staff. From morning till night they seem to be working effortlessly in a bid to keep the kids (and us) amused. Dont get me wrong as the rest of the hotel is perfect. The rooms are spotless and the waiters are good (except one called Manuel) but the Entertainment team really made it that bit more special. They've left a huge impression on my 3 kids and i cant thank them enough. A big thank you goes to the Chief of Entertainment Paul who really has the ability to make each and every child feel special. Once again i would reccomend this hotel as the perfect family resort.
Cheap and most definately Cheerful!
I booked two rooms in the Viva Alcudia Sun Village for 8 days accommodation. I paid £135 per room (£8 pppn) for the week and I was slightly apprehensive about what standard of accommodation we were getting for that sort of money and I was pleasantly surprised. The Apartment Each air-conditioned apartment was of ample size with large windows in the bedroom and patio or balcony for each apartment. The apartment itself had a twin bedroom, a bathroom room with a shower over the bath and a kitchen diner with mainly German satellite TV, a table with 4 chairs and 2 sofas which double up as 3 beds if necessary. The kitchenette was sufficient for any cooking needs and all the utensils and crockery you needed was cleanly in the cupboards. As well as a fridge with a small freezer compartment, we also had a microwave. The only disappointing thing was that you had to unplug the TV to plug in the microwave. The apartment was cleaned 5 times a week and fresh towels laid out as desired. It was spotless. Facilities On the hotel site there is a swimming pool with ample loungers and outside showers, tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, table tennis tables and mini golf. Everything was available for hire if you hadn’t managed to pack in all your sporting goods. As well an entertainments team and a bar/restaurant. There was also a reasonably priced supermarket on site and you get 5% discount of your first shop! The Staff Helpful, friendly and reliable –even had our keys ready for us on our return from the night out! Bad points Finding the hotel can be a bit of a nightmare if you don’t know where you are going and there are some strange one way systems that the locals ignore. Though it was mainly families in the hotel, which it is ideally suited for with daily entertainment round the clock, I would recommend it for couple and groups alike since its in the centre of the resort, over looking the lake and about 10 minutes walk to the beach and great value for money!
