This is a 4star ??? no way .. It may just get the 3 star and only for the size of the rooms. We stayed there for 10 nights from 28th september 2011 and the management were extremely unhelpful infact they were very rude .. Maybe as they had already had our money for an all... more

Went with my two children. Found the hotel to be clean and in reasonable repair. Food was good, though not much of a Spanish influence. Room was not cleaned every day, and the time of cleaning varied. Fridge in the room was a welcome addition. My children enjoyed the kid's... more

Lovely rooms and very friendly staff and ok so the food was a bit boring after awhile but I have found that with most All Inclusive Hotels. The Pool area was good and the Pool Bar was excellent. Maybe the Entertainment in the evening was not up to much but the one man... more

The wife and I had a week at Lagos Cesar. And I have to say I don't recognise it from some of the extremely negative reviews posted. I suppose we were lucky, our top level rooms overlooked the sea with a marvelous view over to La Gomera. Perhaps if we had a room at the back... more

definately not 4 star
Building work in progress at the back and side of hotel. Food basic and uninspiring, have had far better in 3 star. But the hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Santiago small quiet and would definately go to that area again
holiday experience
the hotel overall was very good. staff helpful and very friendly , maid service could not be faulted rooms cleaned every day and towels changed daily. nice big rooms , nice large balcony we were lucky to overlook the sea and pool, but all around the area at side and back of hotel building work was in progress work starts at 7.30 till 5.30 sometimes later depending on work. From hotel roof i counted 17 large over head cranes in the area but overall not too bad. This is classed as a 4 star hotel ,the hotel and staff yes but the food served in the restaraunt was only to a 3 star rating. Often the food served warm not a good selection ,at times meat unchewable would make good chewing gum.watch the milk for cereal as 5 times out of 14 we had to complain that the milk was sour. we have been to many 4 star hotels but this was the worst for food ,normally you get a chef carving meat or cooking crepes but not here. the resort is good but not a great deal to do at night and not suitable for infirm as very hilly . there is a lovely walk along the coast to Los Giantes and recommend hiring a car and going up to Mount Tedie through the nationel park . overall a good holiday.
nice place
just got back from a week at the lagos de ceaser,2adults 2teenagers we had a great holiday and fab weather we were on the first floor facing the pool, bedroom had 2 single beds mirror warddrobe 2 bedside tables with small draws patio door leading to balcony, good size bathroom ,main room had fridge small wall cupboard tele with 1 english channel but you dont go away to watch tele well we dont anyway, sofa bed which turned into bed not very comfy also patio door leading onto balcony we were alinclusive the only thing about the snacks is you only get swiss roll cake small triangle sandwiches with ham&cheese could also could get ice cream, when we arrived our children wanted a snack we look at the menu when i asked the man behind the snack counter could we have things of the menu on the all inclusive and he said no so we paid for the burger our son had in other hotels we have stayed in you would have had that in the all inclusive package, you could also get beer coffee pop from the snack bar,we did'nt have any complaints really all the staff were lovely and helpful they all made a point of saying hello, they all work very hard you could get towels from the reception for the pool at no extra charge if you returned them, also hire of a safe i think it was 25euro and you got 10euro back when you were leaving, towels change everyday in our room sheets once we were only there for a week so we were'nt bothered if they were'nt changed. The entertainment was bingo, flamingo show, man playing piano kids disco same as other hotels we have stayed in ,during the day they had darts, pool, raffle shooting, etc all with Ben he was great with everyone and spoke lots of laguges, roof top for adults that's where the games took place you had to go down to the bar for drinks as there was'nt any on the rooftop the pool was freezing even though the weather was really hot it should be heated a little did'nt matter what time of day you went down to the pool you could always get a sunbed there were different nationalites at this hotel which we prefer they always say that the germans keep sunbeds but we always find it is the british plus the british kids that always run around .All in all we had avery good stay at this hotel, the resort is very nice bars cafe nice (beach playa blanca) 2euro for a sunbed for the day and 2euro if you wanted an umbrella ,the beach is black be careful if you go into the water it can go deep straight away also big rocks in the water but we manage to play ball in the water .When we were going to our hotel we were the last drop off it was only 30min from Las Americas,so we took the local titas bus number 473 to the water park in costa adeje we asked before we went but we weren't told that the bus went everywhere and it did not stop by the park we ended up in las christianos then had to get another bus still the same number 473 which dropped us off and we had to walk up a very steep hill we weren't allowed to stay on the first bus ,the bus from by the hotel was 12euro 80cent for family of four one way, next time we went into las americas we got the number 473 and got of i think it was called san euine then you can walk everywhere from there, also the waterpark is up the hill past Laguna 2 apts if we were told that in the first place it would of been simple but we no for next time.Puerto de santiargo is very nice for 3euro in a taxi you can go round the corner to los gigantes you can walk but it is very hilly there is a harbour there places to eat or just have an ice cream we had a meal at Little Italy it was very nice you can also go on boat trip to see the whales and dolfins ,there is'nt much nightlife if that's what you like, we just had a great chill out week our kids 13&15 also said they enjoyed themselves we also met some nice people not just british the area is very hilly you cannot go anywhere without going up a hill. the first time we took the 473 bus it took us 3hours the next time it was i hour because we had more idea of what we were doing, there is also a market Sunday & Wednesday just outside the resort you get the 473bus to that sorry not sure what the place was called it took about 8minutes to get there, bus stop across the road beach side opp chinese rest hope this review is helfull enjoy
very pleasant break
Had read about the building site and so was not upset by it. the noise was not really a problem, but the balcony did get a bit dusty at times. Due to the layout of the building very few rooms overlook it. Very pleasant hotel which I would describe as a litttle "old fashioned" (this is actually meant as a compliment - I liked it.) Food catered for most tastes. there was nothing I couldn't eat. Got a little boring by the end of the week, but I don't really care for half board. My wife however loves it and never got bored. I think I would have been dissapointed if I had been AI. The entertainment was standard stuff, trying to cope with several nationalities. we never go to in house entertainment any way. We found a lovely bar just across the road. The pool area is rather cramped and I don't think it could have coped in high season. Pool was painfully cold!. Nice sunbathing area on the roof terrace. Room very clean and spacious with the most comfortable bed I think I have ever had on holiday. Puerto de Santiago is very nice, no time share salespeople and nobody pestering you to eat in their restaraunt etc like you get in Americas. Los Gigantes is magnificent, well worth the (rather hilly) walk. suitable for even unfit people like me.
not quite 4 star
My partner and I spent a week at the Lagos De cesar and our experience was mixed. To start with we were given a room overlooking a noisy building site, though we had requested a nice view. We did manage to swap rooms to one overlooking the pool and sea which was lovely. The accommodation consists of 2 rooms plus balcony, and it made a nice change to have a sofa to sit on. We felt there was a lack of 'care' in general in the hotel. Our curtain was hanging off the rail, broken bin, loo needed to be repaired and so on. Be warned there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Also there is no minibar in the room. You order from a menu in the room (We did not do this) All rooms have a large fridge. The dining room was OK but totally self service which meant long queues at coffee and fruit juice machines at breakfast. The food was fine but after 4 days we were a bit bored of it so ate out. There is an unheated swimming pool with sun terrace and bar. When I went to the gym it was unsupervised and some of the machines did not work so I did not return. There is no shop, just a snack and drink machine, but there is a supermarket close by along with various restaurants, cafe and bars. Overall the location was very good if you are happy to be in a quiet area (apart from the building works!)
Friendly efficient and very helpful
We loved our stay at the Lagos de Cesar. The staff were very helpful and could not have been more friendly. They loved people who tried to speak Spanish and were always ready to say hello. There is building work on the whole of the island and it is fascinating to watch this resort expand. Go there, absorb the culture and come back a relaxed better person
great holiday
Just got back from spending 10 days at Lagos De Cesar. Although we agree that it should be a 3 star in comparison to the Playa La Arena which was also a 4 star. It was excellent value for money. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were helpful and friendly. On the down side there was building work going on at the back of the hotel but because we were out most days it did not bother us even though we had a room at the back. The was plenty of choice of food in the dining room although the hot food was hit and miss the cold was excelent. The pool was never full and there was always sunbeds available. (maybe because it was the begining of March and nobody left towels on the beds) The resort isn't very big but has lovely coastal walks but not suitable for people with walking difficultys. The bus service along the coast is good ,efficent ,and very resonable especially with the 'bono card' bought at the news agents .The whole area is very scenic and clean, but could be very boring for families with teenagers.
mixed feelings at lagos
We stayed at Lagos 16th - 20th Jan. Exceptional weather. Lazed by the pool most of the time, Rooms were excellent, Separate lounge and huge balcony, Staff were friendly, especially Ben and Marcell, We went all inclusive, which worked well for the few days we were there. Entertainment not up too much , did not spoil it though. Food was good we thought,a lot of variety and plenty of it, Fantastic views of the mounatains and the sea, Was a lot of building going on,one side of the hotel was a mass of cranes.Quite noisy in the morning, The main residents of the hotel came with "Saga" so quite an older age group. Not a good hotel if you have young children. Was our first time to Tenerife and it was an enjoyable one.
Pity about the building site
Spent a week here after a transfer from 2 weeks in a Puerto de la Cruz hotel. Although this is rated a 4 star hotel it is more like a 3 star minus, especially when compared with Hotel playa la Arena just up the road which is also ranked as 4 star. The hotel is located about 50 metres back from the beach promenade and has views from the front rooms overlooking the sea. However the back and some side rooms have views over a large building site and noise and fumes from machinery mean balcony doors need to remain closed. The food on offer was adequate but choices were somewhat limited. Usually there were a couple of meat dishes and a fish dish plus pasta and sauce and salads on offer for the evening meals. Breakfast offered continental and English breakfasts although fried eggs tended to be either undercooked so the whites were still runny and the yolks cold or overcooked and burned on the underside. The pool area is small for the number of guests and is not in the sun at certain times, but there are 2 sun decks on the roof in compensation, although one of these is shared with a badminton court and other games areas. The resort has a number of bars and restaurants and it is also possible to use the faclities of the other hotels for the price of a drink. It is also possible to walk along the cliff path to Los Gigantes and enjoy the amenities that are on offer there. While I would return to Playa la Arena again I would not choose Lagos de Cesar. There are better hotels both in this resort and Los Gigantes.
Good rooms
Not really a 4 star hotel - more a good 3 star. The best thing for me was the room. Large and comfortable. Food ok, but no better. Hotel very quiet in evening - SAGA had their own lounge . Pool a bit cramped. Location fine. Enjoyed walk into Purto Santiago. To tip - yellow speed boat for dolphin watching. Best Ive ever been on.
