Lagos de Cesar Hotel

Just returned from a week at Lagos de Cesar with my girlfriend and if you after a nice relaxing week away in the sun then I cant recommend this hotel more.
The transfer was just over an hour and we booked our's in advance which saves us loads so i would recommend it highly.
As all inclusive’s go the food was alright, always something to eat and the snacks at the pool bar were good too. If your planning two weeks I would imagine you would get a little bored of the food, however there are plenty of places to eat just down on the front and opposite the beach which is only a 5 minute walk to the left as you leave the hotel. We eat out once and was only 5.50 for a pizza. The drink in the hotel was good too and was real pepsi so no rola cola. The bar however does shut at 11pm, but we could always get a large round just before so this wasnt a proble.
The hotel rooms were the biggest ive stayed in with a separate lounge with the bathroom and bedroom. Each room has a air con so its always nice and cool in the rooms along with a fridge too.
The pool is big enough and there were plently of sunbeds for when we were there (early sept), however I could see it getting busy in the middle of summer. Also as a heads up the pool area doesn’t open to 10am so there are no reserving with towels on sun beds or an early rush down at 6am which we thought was great.
However at the weekend we noticed a lot of locals came so make sure you’re down there just a bit before 10 then as they tend to come in big families and getting a bed can be tricky. If you did miss out there are extra sunbeds on the roof terraces on the 4th floor which are handy too, especially if you want that extra bit of peace and quiet.
All in all we had a great time and was just what we both needed.

Went with my two children. Found the hotel to be clean and in reasonable repair. Food was good, though not much of a Spanish influence. Room was not cleaned every day, and the time of cleaning varied. Fridge in the room was a welcome addition.
My children enjoyed the kid's club.
Swimming pool was clean and well maintained with a lifeguard present. Small pool is only a paddling pool. Could possibly do with some re-structuring. Young children have to be confident in the large pool and/or wear buyoancy aids.
Evening entertaiment was very generic, and once again needed some Spanish influence. many of the planned acts were no shows. Shows should start earlier as a lot of young children like to attend.
All the catering staff and cleaners were very friendly and curteous.
It would be good to have an information board in the foyer area with shuttle bus timings to the airport. The board could also include other information for tourists.
The local beach has strong currents if you have children.
I would come to this hotel again

Lovely rooms and very friendly staff and ok so the food was a bit boring after awhile but
I have found that with most All Inclusive Hotels. The Pool area was good and the Pool Bar was excellent. Maybe the Entertainment in the evening was not up to much but the one man Animation Team got people joining in during the day. I met some nice people and I didn't want to come home (Maybe that it was in the nineties had something to do with it.) Took a taxi to Los Gigantes (4 euros)
Would not advise the Vuelta a la Isla - Island Tour with Viajes Teide. Cost 30 Euros and it was a very disappointing day ( This of course is only my opinion.)

The wife and I had a week at Lagos Cesar. And I have to say I don't recognise it from some of the extremely negative reviews posted.
I suppose we were lucky, our top level rooms overlooked the sea with a marvelous view over to La Gomera. Perhaps if we had a room at the back of the hotel the review would have been 7 instead. The hotel was clean, the food was, well not haute cuisine, but we enjoyed most of it. Drinks have to say there was a lack of variety as regards the beer. The staff were friendly enough, so no complaints there. The pool was fine, no problem getting a sun lounger although as one poster has written not all of it got all of the day sunshine. The entertainment was perhaps of the Redcoat show at Butlins variety. But other than that we had a nice relaxing sunny week.
Oh and I don't work for the hotel either !

Had a great holiday in Playa La Arena, stayed All-Inclusive at Lagos de Cesar Hotel in one of their standard rooms with a balcony. It was excellent value as an evening meal for two at one of the local restaurants averages at 50 euros. Hotel food was plentiful and healthy, good quality and lots of fresh fruit and veg, the fish was particularly good and the local beer and wine was popular. The bar staff were friendly and accommodating but cocktails are basic - no cocktail shakers or crushed ice to be seen! The hotel staff were fantastic and provided an excellent service overall. You can sunbathe by the pool or on one of the two roof terraces or the nearby natural black sandy beach. Travelling around the island is very easy. The local bus service is very reliable, takes an hour to travel to Playa Las Americas and a bit longer to Los Cristianos. The local nightlife of bars and restaurants mainly finish around midnight which suits most people. If you want shopping malls and busy nightclubs then the aforementioned resorts would be a better choice. The local Catholic Church, Espirto Santo, is set in a little piazza just a 10 minute bus ride from the hotel at a little town called Los Gigantes. Engish speaking Mass is 9.30am most days, 11am Sunday and Adoration Thursday evening. If you want to recommend a comfortable and relaxing holiday to family and friends then this hotel is a great choice. Now for the negative. The gym needs to be completely refurbished, it currently has poor and dated equipment and no ventilation. The badminton court and table tennis table on the roof terrace are poor quality. However, there is a local sports centre with great facilities and tennis courts just around the corner which you can join for a small fee for the duration of your stay - great value. I mark this hotel 8 out of 10!

Me and my partner and our two young boys just arrived back.from this HELLHOLE! and although ive never written a review before.In this case i had to do so.!THIS HOTEL IS BADLY MANAGED IF IT IS AT ALL!....DRUNKEN OR DRUGGED STAFF!.or both!..TERRIBLE REPETITIOUS COLD FOOD..served with flies!..at no extra cost!....VERY CHEAP LOCAL WATERED DOWN ALCOHOL..FIRE EXITS LOCKED....BUG INFESTED ROOMS...BUT STRANGLY LOOKED CLEAN?....THIS IS NO 4 STAR...EVEN SOUTH AMERICAN...5 STAR HOTELS WOULDNT BE PROUD OF THIS HOTEL!.AND THATS SAYING SOMETHING ,IF YOUVE EVER STAYED IN ONE!.....COMPLANTS WENT UNANSWERED.....AND IGNORED....BUILDING WORK OUTSIDE...PLEASE TAKE OUR ADVICE DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED HOLIDAY MONEY IN THIS....DUMP!...NOT UNLESS YOUR INTO DRUGS AND JUST WANT TO GET DRUNK ALL DAY ON THE CHEAP !..who ever has given good reviews at this hotel wants to be ether in there imployement..or sectioned under the mental health act!...health and safty would have a field day here!...mind you i liked the mass of cockroached outside the hotel...gave it some added wildlife!..NEVER AGAIN!..PLEASE TAKE NOTE THE GOOD REVIEW IS FROM A STAFF MEMBER!..note the same name!but thell denie it!

This Hotel was Absolute Fab.
The entertainer and All the Bar staff where so friendly.
And i have been reading these reviews and one said people who have gave a good review have never stopped in a 4* acuali i have stayed in a 5 star + in cuba and mexico and you will find this hotel is spotless.

WHAT A TERRIBLE HOTEL THIS IS!..WHOEVER WROTE THOSE GOOD REVIEWS MUST WORK FOR THE HOTEL..and make a mockery of these reports!.iWIIL BE WRITING TO MR.JOSE GONZARLES.THE OWNER!!...When we were there the pool was unusable due to painting most of the time!..We were not fully inclusive...obviously you could tell who where because of silly arm bands..and the waiters drinking shots and being most accomadating to those guest who were!ALSO AT 5.AM the fire alrm went off but we never heard it..and was told by fellow guests that it had!..how frighting to know!THIS HOTEL IS NO FOUR STAR!....tHE MANAGEMENT never listern to our complaint!...i think they all try to cover things up!..WE WOULD BE MAD TO EVER STAY HERE AGAIN...!!!BE WARNED!

Having just arrived back i thought i had to write a repot on this hotel..having never done one before!this hotel is possibly ...NO THE WORST HOTEL...I HAVE EVER STAYED IN..The bar staff at night were always indulging in too much alcohol!..and other things!!!The manager when asked for ....was never avaiable....anyone who has written a good review of this hotel ..has obviously never stayed in a 4* hotel..it was terrible!...the food...the staff!...but the rooms were clean!...and we noticed ..the same as other reviews that the fire exit was loocked..The entertaintment was terrible ....unless your over 50 years old...the childrens entertiner was also very bad..I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE WITH AN SMIDGEN OF SENCE NOT TO VIST THIS VERY BAD HOTEL..i would never return and recomend other people dont waste their money

We stayed at the hotel the same time as John and Nikki. I was one of the young girls served with alcohol and for a matter of fact i am 18 years of age and old enough to get served with alcohol. I was the girl who's mother was "FRANTIC" when she knew that i was in my friends room. The staff were brilliant, could not do enough for you. As for the post sent in by John and Nikki, have no worries about your children, there is a life guard on duty all day and learns the children to swim. The food was fabulous, could not fault it had a large variety.There is a entertainer who is tremendous with both children and adults. All the time we were there the staff were great, there was no signs of any of them taking drugs or under the influence of alcohol.
The maids were in the rooms everyday cleaning and changing the beds. From management to cleaners everything was just as perfect as it would be to make your perfect holiday.
Over all our holiday was fantastic and i would recommend it to everyone and we will definatley be visiting again in the future.
