" We had been to spain many times, but... "

We had been to spain many times, but this time we decided to go to Tossar Del Mar. Overall personally i think that this hotel continental was not very high standards.the room had 1 bed, not even enough room for my children.they had to end up sleeping in our bed.there were seman stains on the sheets and in the morning i complainged to the reception and all they said was that "people like to have fun". The pool was plastered in used condoms.we left the next day.

" We have been many times to Majorca,... "

We have been many times to Majorca, had an apartment there for over ten years in Son Caliu....this was our first stay in an Hotel, and what an Hotel it was....gosh- where do I start..we are both in our 70's...and had a fantastic time ....ALL the staff were excellent...in Reception, the dining room, and the Bar.... the food was good, and plenty of it...may not have been every one's choice...but we were highly delighted with it, and as my husband is Diabetic...always found some thing suitable..although he veered from his diet many times during our 10 day stay.....especially with the desserts..VERY tempting......and what can I say about the cleanliness....first class...don't think we ever saw the cleaners idle..top marks to them....will DEFINITELY be going back there in the near future...only a very small Hotel...but goodness me, we soon felt part of the Family..

" If you are staying here, do not go... "

If you are staying here, do not go for the half-board option. Although the hotel is comfortable and well-kept, it is totally let down by the ambience and cuisine in the restaurant and the out-dated Stuchey's bar (which was serving roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for lunch when it was 40C outside!) The evening meal is buffet style and runs from 7-8.30pm. Do not think you can slip into the restaurant at 8.25pm for a leisurely dinner. On our first night, the chef started clearing up all the puddings while we were still eating our main course. This together with the arrival of the toaster and cornflakes ready for breakfast does not make for relaxed dining. Most guests just eat and run. If an unhurried meal with good wine and conversation is one of the pleasures of your holidays, then this won't cut it. There are only two wines on offer - house white and house red. The red is like vinegar and the white is a sweet, cheap pudding wine. Even the British have moved on from this. We saw the house wine on sale in the supermarket for €1.40 - that will give you an idea of the quality!

Much of the food is deep fried with such delicacies on offer as frankfurters or fish fingers and chips. Although there is fresh salad, almost everything else comes out of either the deep freeze or a tin. This is almost inexcusable in a country where there is so much delicious fresh fruit. Tinned cream of chicken soup and Angel Delight are some of the other staples on the menu. We only managed three out of ten meals in the restaurant before deciding to hang the cost and eat out at some of the wonderful tapas and other restaurants in Can Picafort. The staff at the hotel are helpful and friendly but the food and bar are from another era - so beware!

Nevertheless, we had a great holiday despite the hotel restaurant. The hotel is adjacent to a lovely beach with great views and rock pools to explore and there is a picturesque promenade along the seafront where you can watch the sun go down.

" We were really surprised at this... "

We were really surprised at this small hotel. The room was really quite big and clean.

The welcome could not be faulted as we were late coming in they had saved us a cold snack which was very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, they were friendly and helpful and made us feel at ease.

The food was plentiful and there was a selection at both meals. The coffee was really nice too.

It is close to the lovely beach, and there is a lovely walk alone the sea front for anyone liking a stroll. The bus stops right outside the Hotel and although we did not use it plenty of people did.

The indoor swimming pool was lovely and we used it a few times most times we were on our own, it was like having a private pool.

There is a bar in the Hotel which is called Stutchey's bar and it was really good in the evening as there was usually entertainment.

We would certainly go again.

" Hotel was very clean, staff lovely.... "

Hotel was very clean, staff lovely. Room was very spacious and clean. A lot of choices for breakfast, the best thing at dinner time was cake, melon and ice cream every evening and lots of fresh salads.

Area is not very busy but really lovely, with a beautiful beach Son Baulo and a promenade that goes all the way to Can Picafort town. Only 15 min by bus gorgeous beach Alcudia, where are lots of water sports.

Buses run very often, they are reliable and have great air con. Lots of small shops, cafes and restaurants. Boat trips available from very port. Would definitely recommend, we had a great holiday, didn't want to come back.
