The XIX century manor house has been recently restored and is luxuriously furnished with Portuguese antique furniture. Solar da Fornalha is open all year and offers comfort and calm to restore the energies after the urban stressful life. There are 20 bedrooms of which 9 have double beds, 7 have twin beds and one is a single room. There are also 3 suites with double beds. All the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and are equipped with satellite TV and air-conditioning.

My girlfriend and I spent a week at this hotel, in one of the dozen-or-so villas rather than in the main hotel building, which houses another dozen-or-so rooms. We were there in late May 2004 and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
