Eden Alcudia Apartments Reviews
" Best Hotel in Alcudia "
Submitted By: BloogrooverThe only downside to this hotel is nothing to do with the staff but the guests who INSIST on ambushing the sunbed man at 08.45 in the morning, putting their towels on them, then going off to breakfast, shower whatever then returning 1-3 hours later to sit in their claimed sunbed! Some people were hogging up to 4 beds and 4 parasols at a time and this caused a bit of bad feeling among the other guests. I felt particularly sorry for families with babies and young children who really need beds n shade for their little ones, but had no chance against the other selfish guests and their stereotypical bad manners. Sun bed hogging is indeed against hotel rules but no-one seems to be able or prepared to to Police these rules.
Warning re. watersports on Alcudia beach: If you want to go para-sailing, banana rides anything like that, go to Happy Beach company which is a few hundred metres as you turn RIGHT coming out of the Hotel onto the beach. We unfortunately went to the one up by the town (turning left as you walk on to the beach, just before the little wooden bridge) and paid 90 euros to go Parasailing. We were treated like dirt by the surly brattish boat crew, man-handled and even sworn at by a little teenage oik deck-hand. To add insult to injury we only got to spend 5 minutes in the air instead of the promised 15-20 as the boat had had engine trouble and was behind schedule. I did complain to the girl on the beach (who was nice and friendly) but all she said was she'd pass on the complaint but she didn't offer any money back and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't demand it back.
Advice: Beautiful beach, quiet family-orientated area, epensive to eat out.
Activities: The Swan, the Chines restaraunts in Alcudia itself and the Hotel.
Good for: Beach

Air Malta, our airline was first class, I would fly with them anytime, Travel Republic, would I use them again? Depends how they respond to my 4 page letter of complaints.
The coach transfer company were useless on time keeping and we nearly missed our flight home because they were late picking us up from The Eden Alcudia hotel.
We stayed at the Eden Alcudia from the 19th to the 30th August 2008, would I stop at that hotel again? never, if your not German you don’t count according to the Spanish.
We stayed at the Eden Alcudia about 2 years back and loved it, the rooms were clean, the staff were courteous and helpful, the entertainment was first class.
When we arrived this year after a 2 and a quarter hour journey from the airport, the room wasn’t ready and we had to wait another 90 minutes.
When we finally got into our room we were horrified to find the only thing we could see from our balcony was the top of a tree, it blocked out the complete balcony, the room was 424 and was north facing so it never got light in our apartment, the room itself was clean and the domestic staff were first class.
Being directly above the Hotel Service area we were always being disturbed by the noise of lorries making deliveries.
We complained to the desk staff about our apartment but they said they couldn’t do anything, I later spoke to a female manager, she was even too ignorant to introduce herself to me, so I never found out her name, her attitude was that’s your room live with it.
Two days later I complained again to the manager and this time I raised several other complaints, IE, the Germans taking over all the sunloungers and sunshades even though they were not using them, I pointed out the fact that there was a hotel rule forbidding the reserving of sunloungers, and that it was not being enforced, she just shrugged her shoulders and said “what can I do”? She started to walk away, I informed her because of her uncooperative attitude, that I was going to post pictures of my problems at the hotel on the net, and that no one would want to stop in a room like ours, she just said she didn’t want people like us there anyway.
Summing up, the Alcudia Bay area is just beautiful, but if your not German don’t go there, if you do, always find out what things will cost before buying them, a 13 euro meal can often end up with a bill for 25 euro’s, with things like drinks, and tax etc on top.
We ended up paying 52 euro’s for a paella meal for two, a pint of lager and a mineral water, in the past that would be about £30, now its about £50
Don’t go full board, other British couples were telling us how bad the food was in the hotel, we always had our breakfast at the British bar called the Swan 5 minutes walk away, the entertainment at the Swan was brilliant, the entertainment at the Eden Alcudia was non existent.
I believe that the Spanish just want to take as much money as they can off the holiday makers this year, but they forget doing that means their holiday trade will be irreparably damaged for next year.
When we returned home we contacted Travel Republic to make them aware of the horrendous holiday we had, had, they didn’t want to know, hopefully this recession will be sorting out a lot of these companies who are only interested in taking your money while selling you a shoddy holiday.
After this years holiday in Alcudia, Majorca, Tenby in Wales, is looking a very tempting option for 2009.
Advice: Alcudia is nice, shame the hotels don
Activities: None, all prices were exorbitant, don’t bother going there for a cheap holiday now.
" WOULD GO BACK AGAIN "
Submitted By: LAINEYBIRDYou did have to be early to get a sun lounger but to be honest we preferred the beach which was only a couple of hundred yards through the gardens anyway.
The staff were all very helpful and pleasant - a decent tip on your first night goes a long way to getting good service (and good measures!!!). Found prices in the hotel bar VERY reasonable compared to other places we've been.
Two or three great pubs round about - we loved "The Posh Paddy" and Smiths for food. Also The Swan.
Be warned though - the centre of Alcudia is NOT a twenty min walk - took us an hour and we usually enjoy walking!! Got a taxi back and couldn't believe how far we had walked!!!!! Take a taxi if you go there - only about 5-6 euros.
But plenty to do local to the hotel anyway.
All in all would definetely go back to the area and the apartments as well - great value for money.

" Hi there
We (wife,... "
We (wife, son(14) and I) have just returned from the Eden Alcudia apartments and cannot praise the staff, cleanliness or location highly enough for this type of holiday.
Seguro holidays received bad press in the summer of 2007 but on this occassion they got everything spot on. Flights, meet and greet and tranfers in both directions were excellent.
A local supermarket next door to the apartments supplied us with copious amonts of drinking water and fresh croissants and baugettes for breakfast and lunch all at reasonable cost.
Remember this is not traditional spain and there is a fair share of KFC's and Burger King's which we did attempt to avoid. We found one local restuarant adjacent to the hotel which was excellent. All meats were cooked on an open barbecue and the cost for three for main meals and drinks was approximately 50euro.
The hotel has good facilities and the usual activities throughout the day (volleyball, waterpolo, etc) but it is the wonderful beach and sea which will make your holiday. The bay in Alcudia is very warm and swimmers can walk out at least 100metres with the water still at waste level, it was absolutely magic.
Public transport was good as we visited both the Alcudia and Inca Market and also Puerto Pollenca and Polenca.
We thouroughly enjoyed our holiday and intend returning to this aparthotel.

Submitted By: Mr J StanleyAs this was a self catering apartment, it was severely lacking in equipment, as there was no grill, no kettle or toaster! All of these items could be hired as extras. This also stretched as far as having a TV in your room, if you wanted one, you had to hire it.
As far the evening entertainment was concerned, it was so bad, that me and my wife found it embarrassing.
Needless to say, we won't be going back to this hotel.
" Hello
We just came back from... "
We just came back from Alcudia(Majorca) where we had really great time.Eden ALcudia hotel its a great place for all families, breakfast -delicious, everyone can find sth for himself, beach just across the gardens, small playground for childrens, rooms are cleaning everyday, staff very helpful. We rent a car so we could move and visit other part of island, everywhere is really close, in 30 minutes u can get on the other end of the island. I really reccomending this place to everyone.

Submitted By: Miss L RobertsThe daytime entertainment was the highlight of our holiday as when we weren't on the beach we were entertained by Jonas and his activities. We loved playing water polo.
We didn't eat at the restaurant, we mainly eat at Smiths Bar which is just round the corner and the Swan which is about 5 mins walk away; both are British bars and were both cheap and lovely.
We did three excursions with no frills which were the Pirate’s Adventure, Grande Ranche and the Big Day Out which was the aqua park and the marineland. We found them all amazing, however I would advise that you do the big day out opposed to doing the marineland and aquapark separately as you would get bored doing one of them all day. It was just the right amount of time when they were both put into one day.
I would definitely go again and we didn’t want to leave in the first place!
" Very nice hotel right on the beach,... "
Submitted By: Mrs L AllenThe hotel is about a 20 min brisk walk from the centre of Alcudia and its main clientele is German, all the entertainment and TV was geared towards them so we had to leave the hotel on an evening and walk to the centre.
I will go back to Alcudia but next time I will book a hotel near to the Sol Alcudia Centre, as this is much more central.
" Agree with all prior comments. i.e.... "
Submitted By: Mrs E IngmanThe traffic noise was very loud up to approx 2 am and started again at 6 am. We asked to move after 3 nights and, after speaking to a very helpful manager, were moved to a quieter location.
If you want a good night's sleep please check room location before you go - sea view would be advised but you would need to book in advance as it is a very popular and busy hotel.

Rooms were big enough for us but the only downside was that u only got 2 hobs and a fridge in the kitchen part, if u wanted a kettle or toaster u had to hire them for 8-10 euros for the week, no tv in the room but u could hire one for 30 euros for the week, we didnt. Beds were quite uncomfortable but ok for the week, u can put up with them, sleep ok, but if u have young children like us, and they need to sleep in the day for couple of hours its difficult due to the noise of the cleaners, very friendly, but very noisy!! Alot of German staying in the hotel and we found that u had to be down the pool at 8.45 sharp to get a sunbed or u werent getting one. Beach was so close, just literally a 1 minute walk to get there with beach bar right there which was fab. Pool was gorgeous, ideal little pool for kiddies and 2 large pools for everyone else, very very clean. Entertainment at night was good and staff worked very hard to please each nationality, i dont agree with previous reviews that said if ur not german u dont count, totally untrue, everyone was treated equally which was nice. Situated right next door to a spa shop with everything u will need for ur hols and then restaurants and bars galore, not too rowdy, just nice for couples and families, will say it was a lovely holiday and had no complaints. Would definately recommend for couples or families or anyone who wants a nice relaxing break with entertainment and amenities should u want them. Lovely accommodation and lovely situated.
Good for: Beach
