We have just returned from a one week holiday at this hotel and I have to say I was dreading going after reading a lot of poor reviews. All I can say is I'm not sure what these people were expecting for 3*. Rooms were very clean and roomy enough. Towels seemed to be changed... more

Just got back from an absolute fantastic 2 weeks, all inc in this hotel. Everything is done on a weeks rota, however the food is plentyful, unlike other comments the variety means you could have 2 different meals from the same menu. Staff work really hard and turn tables... more

I can only comment on the food as we were sent here when our flight was delayed for nearly 8 hours. If I had had the misfortune to have booked this for a holiday I would have paid to dine elsewhere every night. The food was abysmal. "Beef Ragout" mmmm, sounds delicious?... more

We stayed 18-25 June 11 & the food is the worst ever i've had in an all inclusive 3* resort. Found hair on 4 occassions in my food (noticed it as serving it onto my plate), they replace new food into food warmer servers & then stir in the leftovers of old dish, this... more

Just back from a weeks break, and had a great time. The negatives first, as mentioned in other reviews the entertainment is not great (is it ever though?) and there are quite a few staff that would/could not smile, but in a place that busy, would you? There was the usual... more

Tremendous value for money
Stayed at the Belvedere from 8th to 22nd April and just don't know how they provide a fortnights all-inclusive holiday for what they charge. Restaurant food was excellent, poolside pizzas delicious, booze plentiful, lovely swimming pool, loads of sunbeds, staff all helpful and most of them have worked there for years. Location is good - just a short walk away from the village and a courtesy bus is provided on the half hour to take you to and from Palma Nova if you want more action!. Entertainment team provide all evening entertainment which is a little amateurish but it is all good fun, and they work very hard. Dining room and bedrooms clean, and this is a good all round 3 star hotel - superb value for money, well worth every penny!
Great Value and good time
We, a family of four sharing twin rooms next to each other, stayed in the Belvedere during 8th and 15th of April 2006. The Hotel had just reopened after the winter closure period and all gardens, patios, interior etc was neat and spotless. The very large free form pool lay among palm trees with lots of space and loads of sun beds. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily and if you leave your used towels on the floor, they are replaced daily. The entertainment however, is provided by the hotel and is geared very much towards kiddies. Mini disco every night between 8.45 pm and 9.45 pm and then loosely termed 'adult' entertainment....bingo etc. Most people seem to bring their own cards!!! However, the outside bar stays open and you can sit under the stars, drinking and chatting too. The food was buffet style, eat as much as you like. It was beautifully presented and colourful. The dishes were of a very high standard and although the menu was rotated, it could get a bit samey if you went for chips each time! Personally, I loved the salad and fresh fruit and there was a plentiful supply of dietary foods, kiddies foods and good old blow out type foods! There are snacks by the pool, consisting of fresh baked pizza, hamburgers, chips, toasted sandwiches etc. And the pool is another story! Absolutely huge with great variations in depth! However, at peak times you need to queue and you can only collect two meals per person or three drinks per adult, so it needs two people each time for a family of four. The drinks are great and free flowing, however, no cocktails will be served to All Inclusive customers...So we just asked you pineapple and coconut (Pina Collada) and got what we wanted! The location is quiet in a secluded area. However, if you choose to walk down to the town/village of San Agustin...Be warned............There are no pavements and although it is only 50 yards or so, it is walked with your life in your hands!!! Not for the faint hearted! And then there is the decent into San Agustin...stone steps, hundreds of them!!! Going down is the easy part, coming back is cruel!!! A taxi can be caught for 4.50 Euros (expensive) But you are rather a captive audience by then! The hotel staff are friendly and very talented, speaking many different languages fluently! Other guests are continentals and with different cultures to our own and so you need to bear that one in mind. I was constantly reminded how others speak a second language and we tend not to… My only gripe here is that of English kids who were often unruly and hunted in packs…I felt for others staying here and was frequently ashamed of how it must have appeared to other people. On our last night a group of six English kids invaded the pool, despite being warned to stay out (chemicals etc) and they were rude and pushy to the staff. The parents were nowhere to be seen. I enjoyed my visit here. My one major complaint is the utter Woefully inadequate lift situation. Three lifts, each capably of taking 450 kg or in their eyes, 6 people each. However, it would only take three of our party at a time ( we are all over 12 stones) and would simply refuse to budge if it was overloaded! And this is in a hotel where up to 1000 or beyond people can stay at any one time! At meals times you could wait up to 10 minutes to use the lifts or face a nine floor climb! San Agustin was very quite, really a small town or large village. But, there was a free bus from the hotel to Palma Nova, which is really a tourist haven. Or if you caught the Number 3 or 6 from either outside Belvedere or from San Agustin, for 1.50 Euro you can go into Palma City. The beach was rocky but watching the little boats was fun. Yes I would return to this hotel again, it was excellent value and offered high quality.
Great holiday, great value for money
My family and I visited the Belvedere in August 2005, we found the hotel to be spotlessly clean, which was a plus for us as we had and infant with us. Our rooms were quite large with beautiful views over the bay of Palma. The food was really good, you had the choice of poolside bars serving toasties, chicken & chips, salad, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, pasta. What more can you ask for!!! Plus the restaurant was open between 12-3 then again at 6. Drinks were unlimited but you did have to queue on occasions, but bearing in mind we visited at peak period so we expected queuing. The kids club was great but mostly catered for 3-9yrs old, but there was an amusement arcade for the older ones, plus kids waterpolo and games around the poolside during the day. Evening entertainment was average but no worse than other all inclusive hotels i;ve visited. The walk was lovely downhill to Cala Mayor, which is a small village with a lovely beach. If you walk to the bottom of the hill and turn left there is a beautiful cove that we found about 3/4 mile away, excellent for children. The courtesy bus runs every half hour and stops in between Palma Nova & Magaluf which is great if you want to explore the area. This can get crowded about 10ish in the morning and 4ish coming back to the hotel. There were alot of nationalities at the hotel which I found strange at first but overall thought it to be nice compared with the typical 'british' hotels I normally visit. Afterall you are on holiday so expect something different to back home!! Would definately go back to this hotel, great value for money for families. The only gripe I do have is on our second week which took us into September there were alot of 'older' guests who were not very tolerant with children playing in the pool area.
Brilliant time
what a excellent place to stay. no loud noise at nights.very efficent, friendly and helpful staff. free shuttle bus to palma nova every half hour. entertainment team very hard working. cleanliness 100%. food plentyful and varied, nice large freeform pool. plenty of sun loungers for everybody.enjoyed so much rebooked for 06 within a week of getting back home. CAN NOT WAIT FOR NEXT SUMMER.
Value for money
Stayed at the Belevedere for 2 weeks in September. Considering it is essenatially a cheap for an all inclusive location, we found the hotel to be excellent. It was very clean, and although the food was a bit repetative, it was still very nice. The only thing that spoilt it for me was the small contingent of loud, rude andobnioxious English families (whos kids should have been back in school but I guess that cheap holidays come before education) who roamed around the place acting like they owned it. Previous reviews have commented on the 'staring' of the German guests, but if they has a similar experience to us then I am not surprised. That aside, I would recommend this hotel to anyone but just keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
terrible
well what can i say, when you work all year ,and you save up for a decent holiday, then you go to somewhere like the belvedere, you might as well save your money.dont get me wrong the hotel itself is beautiful and of very high standards, very clean.that is the one and only good point about this hotel.the food was terrible and only caters for the germans and the french.if youre english then youve had it.what was edible was either cold or luke warm.the staff if they did smile which was very occasionally,we just thought ,oh well they must have wind.the germans and the french are so rude and arrogant.they pushed to the front for everything whether it be for the food or waiting for the courtesey bus.if you went into the dining room or anywhere in the hotel, they made you feel so uncomfortable just by staring at you, long hard glaring looks ,never taking there eyes off you looking at you as if they'd just scraped you off there shoe.very ignorant people.will never go there again and just feel as if we've wasted our hard earned cash for a total load of rubbish.steer clear if i were you geoff w
just brilliant
We had an a**t***s holiday, which they put us in apartments like the holiday from hell. We complained and the belvedere kindly put us up for the fortnight. This hotel is clean, friendly and has lots to do, it is close to port adventura which was excellent, and walking distance from the beach and shops, there is a waterpark not far away aswell, what more could you wish for. We had fresh fruit in our rooms and the food was excellent, we will definatley go back. Thank you Belvedere, yours Faithfully A.Heath Nottinghamshire England
Glad to be home!
We have just returned from the Hotel Belvedere Park in St Agustin, Majorca. First impressions of the hotel were great but after having spent a few nights we came to realise that there is very little to do here. There is no children's club run by First Choice, who are the only UK Operator to go to this hotel. There is a kids club run by the hotel entertainment staff but I have to say this caters for the very young ie. 3-5 years. There is a kids disco in the evening, the same every night and only lasts about 15 minutes. The entertainment during the day consists of silly games (walking around with a cup on your head, or running round in circles and then throwing a dart at a dart board, water polo which takes over the shallow end of the pool or volleyball). You have to be quick though because the Germans and Spanish get in there quick!! The evening entertainment is done by in the in-house entertainment team and it is absolute rubbish. It is also rotated on a weekly basis and is very amateurish to say the least. The food is very repetitive. It said that there was a fortnightly rotation, but we were there for 2 weeks and the food only varied once on the second week. There is a limit of only 3 drinks per adult, so if you have more than 3 people in your party you will need to queue twice and be warned, the queues get quite long both during the day and evening. The hotel is set on a hillside and it is fine to walk down into Cala Mayor which has a lovely small beach but it is a real pain to walk back up in the soaring heat. We kept getting taxis. On the plus side, there is a doctor on site and a lifeguard on duty all day who can also do first aid. There is also a courtesy bus which runs in between Palma Nova/Magaluf and then on to Marineland. This runs extremely well and to time but it does get busy and they will not allow you to stand on the bus. (43 passengers at a time only). The higher floor levels have fantastic sea views and you can see over to Palma city.
great
we had a wonderful holiday.staff and entertainers were great.food was as what you would expect.we went all inc.which saved us a lot of money.only one gripe,no kids club, which it could do with. rooms are comfy enough, plenty to eat and drink through the day with different food for all ta stes.we are going back soon, and are so much looking forward to it. might not suit people with walking problems,as it has steep steps(not @hotel),but if going into the town.has a free bus service which is great.go on and enjoy your hols,we did.
Booking
Would be correct if you mention in your reviews how did you book hotel. Belvederes website --------- you can make reservation. BUT there isn´t any mention about procedures. After I made a booking I got email: "In order to fix your reservation 50% of the total amount must be transferred within three days to our bank account xxxx. Then please fax a copy of the transfer order, showing your booking reference xxxx to the number xxxx. The rest of the amount to be paid directly upon arrival to the hotel reception." That account number dont have IBAN/SWIFT-code for European fast and secure money transfer. AND what quarantee do I have if I cancel my reservation? Are you sure you will get 50% money back? And is your reservation with transfered money in their data? I booked RIU-hotel with better (normal), liable reservation confirmation and quarantee. Thank you.
