Barcelo Ponent Playa

We will be returning to this Hotel in coming years. From the moment we arrived through to departure, not a bad moment was encountered at this fabulous hotel.
Our room was comfortable, though no tea-making facilities were supplied (which is not uncommon in holiday hotels). The room was very clean and had a balcony that had a view of the bay. The only bad comment with the view was that there was a large Pine tree outside which blocked 70% of the view.
The meals in the large restaurant were varied with plenty to choose from and comfortable surroundings.
The pool area was immaculate with a useful bar/snack area. The pool was very cold though and we avoided using it. Facilities within were plentiful and the beach was literally a stones throw away.
The local town is only 10 minutes walk away and the route is lined with useful holiday-essential shops. As this was the last week of the season, some local facilities and shops were closing for the season and others were shut down. That said, the holiday was fabulous and thoroughly enjoyable.
Our week long stay was at the very end of the season and the weather was fairly reliable with 3 days of sunshine, 2 of rain, and 1 with cloudy patches.
Entertainment was supplied by ‘animators’, who were very friendly and enthusiastic.
THE PRO’S - great hotel, fabulous views, excellent food and facilities, quiet location, reasonable weather.
THE CON’S - Panorama let us down with the original choice of airport and offered no compensation, even though the holiday ended up costing a further £150 due to their inconvenience.
