Oriental Resort

It was amazing!! Best experience of my life! The staff were friendly, the animation team were soooo great! I loved every minute of it!
There was always something to do; mini disco for the kids, a show every night for everybody and after that you could go to the disco for a dance or the lobby for a drink. The pool was great and so was the weather! And I enjoyed my games of water polo and water gym!! And I certainly enjoyed watching Tony the animator do yoga!! haha!!
The only problem I came across though was the food, the pool bar was nice, but if you asked for a plate of chips you got about 4 chips!! I didn’t like the restaurant very much, it wasn’t quite my taste, but I’m sure other people enjoyed it, i know my family did!
I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was brilliant and I’d certainly come back!

Oriental Resort was very good although not quite the star rating in Thomson’s brochure, but the food was good and varied and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Also the hotel was very clean and when I told the man who cleaned our room he hadn’t left enough shower gel the day before, he left us half a dozen the next day and asked if that was enough! We were there three weeks before the bombs went off but the Oriental is so far away from the town, (a £6 taxi ride each way) which I would definitely stay there again. The snorkelling is excellent but it is quite a long walk to the coral where all the fish are but worth it when you get there. However you do need to wear some form of footwear in the sea because of the coral and these can be bought locally and if you bargain hard you can get them for about £4.50 a pair.

The lady who gave this a 1 must have been staying at another resort. The facilities and service were of a very good standard and the staff were particularly pleasant with all the visitors. The access to the snorkelling from this resort was very good but remember to take something for your feet, neoprene shoes are available at the hotel shop at about £6 a pair.
You may find queues at the bars at times but I was told this should be sorted soon. The General Manager is on the shop floor regularly and is very interested in what the guest think of the resort and the service.

Don’t panic if you have booked your holiday here!!!! - I read all the reviews that have been placed on all websites for the last 3 months and was worried to hell - no need!!!!
There were 8 of us 5 girls - 3 boys - 24-41 years old and we loved it!!!!!!! - Super hotel, 5 were poorly but 3 were not and there is no way that you can blame any one thing!!!! - so don’t be put off - we all ate the same, drank the same, swam the same and sun bathed the same - it is just one of those things if you get the bug!!!! - and all the hotels were the same!!! –
I can understand peoples moan - but some of them are just over the top. The animation team were superb - I cried on the day I left - as I just did not want to come home!!!!! - and I will definitely be going back - the all inclusive did cover all that you could want for the price!!! - the trips were great and I loved it.
The Egyptians were nothing but helpful - and take the time to talk to them all - the friendlier you are the better they are - SMILE at them - they love the English people - but if you cant be bothered why should they!!!

Never go here!
We had the WORST holiday ever and would never return to Egypt again. The food was appalling, we were in the middle of nowhere...with only 1 free bus running per day! The staff were rude, unhelpful and slow service throughout the hotel. We were both taken ill with D&V. There was lack of staff throughout the hotel.
The beach was extremely poor, we were unable to scuba or snorkel. the gardens were watered throughout the day with sewage, the smell was unbearable and masses of flies...there was work being done in the hotel, spray-painting all day, these fumes were also unbearable.
All-inclusive at this hotel does not mean all-inclusive. You have to pay for ice creams, most snacks, some drinks the pool tables etc. THIS IS NOT A 5* HOTEL MORE LIKE A 2*
