This hotel needs updating quite alot and seems quite tired.
The pool area and gardens were maintained very nicely.
Also the location was brilliant to the beach and some shops.
the staff were very funny and helpful, the rooms and hotel was clean and good sized.
The food was nice but our stomachs said different. so did the rest of my family.
At evening time there was not enough seats to sit down and enjoy our drinks. we had to stand in the lobby.
Every night was the same.
Also the evening entertainment was so poor.
Nothing going on at all. Peole were just walking around the hotel looking lost.
When there was entertainment it was awful. Not even a 5 year old would enjoy it.
- Advice: clean ,, friendly but lack of excitement
- Good For: Beach

Good
Nice swimming pools, lovely gardens, friendly staff, lovely beach area, good location shops and bars just outside, but far enough away to have solitude from them, clean hotel, large bed rooms, soft comfy bed, attractive foyer
Bad
Hotel is showing signs of wear and tear in parts, fitting and fixtures in bedroom and parts of the hotel hanging off. Lack of hot water at peak times. Only one bar inside the hotel, and lack of places to sit for such a large hotel.
Ugly
Drinks !!!! the spirits are the worst I have ever tasted, and Ive been on many all inclusive packages before and local produced spirits have not been a problem in the past, but believe me they are yuk !!!
Plastic glasses, every peek time they run out of glasses and you end up drinking out of the cheapest plastic glasses you have seen , and one last thing, have Ice with your drinks at your peril, I learned the hard way 5 day suffering on the toilet. Trouble is you end up having luke warm mixers in a plastic glass.
Running out of spirits at peak times in the bar
- Advice: Dont expect 5 star

Stayed here between 10th & 17th Feb 10 and very disappointed. Hotel overall needs major updating - on arrival no bed in room for 11 year old - 3 beds later, we finally succeeded! Repairs urgently needed - sink tap broken, no plug in bath - took 3 hours to arrive, shower rod broken, shower tap broken, hairdryer broken and sellotaped back together but was too hot and dangerous to hold anyway. Bath water was brown that came from tap. No mini bar at all despite brochure saying so, also spa and health club, tennis courts all closed due to major building works but again not advised on website. As an all inclusive option, food variety minimal and repetitive. Pool areas also need attention. On a good point, staff are all friendly and helpful. To summarise, would we go back, the answer is definitely NO NEVER.
- Advice: Sharm is great and would definitely return for a 3rd time, however, definitely not to this hotel

Four of us went on 14th jan, good hotel does need a bit of maintanace here and there. all the staff are fantastic. food is all ok, rooms are large, beach is great you can go nearly 0.5 mile out and only up to your chest. never seen sea so clear anywere in the world. when sea is up to your chest you can see every grain of sand. fantastic gardens.will go back again.cannot understand the bad reviews. the downside is the airport they have not got a clue.duty free is cheap. but food and drink is not priced and when you get to the till you are in for a big shock.
- Advice: would go back.
- Good For: Beach
- Board Basis:All Inclusive
- Tour Operator:lowcost hoiladays.

This was one of the best holidays i have ever been on, did not know what to expect. The hotel and gardens were well kept ,but the rooms were more like 3 star not 5 star . The beach was gorgeous and their is also two swimming pools to choose from.Their is plenty of things to do out of the hotel eg camel riding out in the desert ,the buggy cars brilliant fun. The entertainment in the hotel is non existant. It is well worth making a trip into Naama Bay go at night when the place comes alive. I must say did not expect the food to be up to much but we really enjoyed it their is a very good variety, and the waiters cant do enough for you(especially eddie murphy and jimmy who helped make our holiday great). The only negative thing are some of the men in the shops and bars can be very sleezy they dont even bother if your with your husband, can be quite scary at times .

Hotel clean but definately not 5 star. Full is not trhe best but edible, the staff are very friendly and will in to help and they will expect a tip at the end of the holiday and know exactly whn you are leaving. All drinks are served in small glasses and on an evening there is often a wait to get a seat in the lounge area to have a drink after your meal. The rooms are clean but dated and badly in need of modernisation. Ther appeared to be ample sun beds and wasn't a problem. Entertainment was vertually none existant and the Egyptions have a long way to go in the entertainment area. Paid extra to go to a beach party at the hotel, wish I not bothered it was absolute rubbish and they have an art of fluffing things up to something they are not. I went with On the Beach, the rep was useless and was never at the hotel when he said he would be. The rep was not distinguised with a name board or company logo when he was there and when this point was raised was quite abrupt. Beware that if going on a trip the best deals are with the locals and can save a packet. Be prepare for hidden extras which are not mentioned when booked. I would say that this was an average holiday, I would go back but not at the Oriental Resort. The weather was great and went on some great trips including Cairo and the Pyamids.
- Advice: Beware of the sellers who often say they don't want anything but always expect something
- Activities: Cairo, Snorkling, quad biking recommended. Entertainment vertually none existant
- Good For: Beach
- Board Basis:All Inclusive

We visited Egypt fot the first time for our honeymoon in June and stayed at the Oriental Resort in Sharm. The hotel inside and out is spotless so to are the rooms which were cleaned to a high spec every single day fresh clean towels beds made ample loo paper etc.
We absolutley loved it and plan to go back in the near future the food was lovely and plenty of choice the dessert trolley was out of this world everything was cooked properly and we had no problems at all there was something for everyone.
The staff in the hotel were the most pleasant people you could ever meet the waiters especially Zak could not do enough for us anything we wanted we got and he was a great guy so much so we even have his mobile number and address so we can keep in touch.
The only thing that spoils this hotel is the limited entertainment, even though the guys and girls are all fab they seem to have very limited resources on what us Brits like as entertainment it was all good fun but just not enough, the shows were a bit dissapointing as you had to keep walking over the road to The Strada to watch the team do some dancing or singing which although good got a bit boring after about 10 mins. They did do a Miss Oriental competition each week which was quite amusing (and embarrassing)as i found out when i was volunteered by my husband but won so it was worth it i suppose. If you have children the staff are great with them always talking to them and playing games etc loads of stuff to do in the day but again a bit naff for the older kids at night as they only had a mini disco which finished at 9pm and if your kids are over 7 i dont think they would be amused. If you are a younger couple they take a bus load of you to Hard Rock or one of the other major night clubs where you can stay out till 5am every night but for the families there is not that much to do at night unless you go out of the hotel and into one of the towns nearby. If you have never been before defo give it a try the food is cheap if you dont like all inc the local supermarkets are great for example a can of coke is 18p and a large bag of crisps is about 20p taxis are a bargain and the local merchanise like paintings jewellry and spices are really good value. The beaches are great you can literally walk out for miles and still be ankle deep and the fish are amazing try diving or snorkelling if like me you not a lover of the sea,you can also quad bike and do all the water sports etc we recommend the sand buggies in the desert fantasic fun but dusty so dont wear your best clothes and take your sun glasses. The Pyramids and Sphinx are a must but if travelling by coach be warned its a long hot day but well worth it.
The only other hints and tips we can give is take American Dollars as you do get asked to pay for things using the dollar and you get more for your money if you do cause they get a good exchange rate over there but if you pay in Egyptian pound it will cost you more.
- Advice: Plenty of shops and restaurants you will never get bored of where to eat
- Activities: Pyramids - Sphinxs - Mask of Tut The River Nile
- Good For: Beach
- Board Basis:All Inclusive

Just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at the Oriental Resort. Its the first time to Egypt so was a little apprehensive before hand as people tell you of horror stories with the food etc.
The hotel itself is probably more like a 4 star hotel than a 5 star. The rooms were a good size with 2 double beds in. The bath room is a little smaller than I expected but still a good size.
I will start with the positives of the hotel and holiday first. Firstly the Staff at the hotel are excellent, very friendly and if you are going as a family they really look after the kids. The Animation team work from 10am till 4am every day and work hard to make sure events are on throughout the day and night. Entertainment is a little scarce in the evenings around the hotel apart from the weekly Beach party which is worth going to.
The rooms are very clean and the cleaners work hard to keep it that way although be warned they do like to come round early (around 9 am) and they are quite persistent at coming back so put the do not disturb sign up on your door and they wont bother you. Strangely though our sign disappeared in the second week :-).
The private beach of the hotel is in good condition, the sea stays shallow for about a half mile out so you can walk all the way out. The amount of fish and sea life is incredible. If you walk to the end of the pier and snorkel off to the left you will a huge bit of coral. The fish around here are amazing so be sure to have a good snorkeling session. Make sure you were a t shirt though. I had sun block on and still got burnt.
There are 2 swimming pools. The main pool is the largest and this is where you will find water aerobics in the mornings and during the day this is the busiest pool. The smaller pool further down by the beach is a lot quieter so couples may want to get away from the kids here.
Don't feel afraid to leave the hotel complex, there is plenty to see around the hotel and its perfectly safe. Out the front of the hotel you will see there are many western names popping up such as Burger King, Star Bucks, TGI Fridays, Levis, La Senza, KFC, McDonalds. There is also a market called La Strada. Be warned they will bug the hell out of you so be polite and tell them to go away :-). I lost count on the number of times they all used the same cheesy lines.
A little tip Bk and Mcdonalds have wireless for free so if you want to catch up on emails etc go there, otherwise you will pay 35 l.e for an hour in the hotel (about £4). Also make sure you tip the staff on the first day as they seem to treat you really well for the rest of your stay.
Now for the negatives...
No matter how hard you will try you are likely to get a dodgy tummy when you are over there. Its the topic of conversation where ever you go. Take this bit of advice and you will be fine in no time and you can enjoy the rest of your holiday. As soon as you start to feel ill, head out the hotel and turn right along the row of shops and at the end there is a pharmacy. Tell them you have a dodgy stomach and they will give you some tablets to take. one yellow and one green pill to be taken 3 times a day. They will also give you a sachet that should help get you feeling better a lot quicker. As soon as I had the sachet and a days worth of the tablets I was feeling back to normal.
It is also true that the men do pay a lot of attention to the woman. Its quite amusing the first couple of times being offered hundreds and thousands of camels for your girlfriend but after 2 weeks of it you really do get irritated by it. There is no real cause for concern generally just be careful if you are traveling alone or as a group of girls.
The food at the hotel is pretty good although you do get very bored of it after a week. The good news is that there are some good restaurants around. As you walk to the beach from the hotel turn right and there is a lovely Italian called Dua Dua. Also out of front of the hotel along the La Strada there is a really nice Chinese called Peking. Its one of the best Chinese Restaurants I have had outside the U.K and prices for both places were about 300 l.e (about £30) including a big tip for 2 people.
If you fancy doing any excursions I highly recommend the Star Gazing Trip and the snorkeling trip to Tehran Island. The star gazing takes you out to the middle of the dessert on a camel where you see the life of Bedouin people. Dinner is supplied and you watch the sunset. You are then given a guided tour of the stars using a really cool laser pen. You can then see through 4 telescopes set up the different stars and planets. We looks at Jupiter and the moon (picture attached).
We also went to Cairo to see the pyramids which was a great experience. A word of warning though its a really long day starting at 4:30 am. The flight is only 45 minutes though and you get a trip down the river Nile and lunch in the Hard Rock included.
In conclusion if you have booked up this hotel you will have a great time and wont regret it (providing you payed a reasonable price). Its not perfect but you could do a lot lot worse. If you are a family this hotel is probably for you as they really look after the kids. If you are a couple you will enjoy yourselves but you may get a little annoyed with the children running riot. There are a lot of newer hotels along the beach front that have much better facilities such as mini water parks etc so you may want to check the prices of these if you have not already booked.
- Advice: Sun sand and sea with lots to explore.
- Activities: Dua Dua Italian Restaurant and Peking Chinese are both excellent.

I went for 10 days to Egypt with my family. I came back yesterday. Before we went we had been reading all the reviews and thinking what are we letting are selves in for as they all looked rubbish. But when we got there we were really surprised it was amazing and we couldn't understand what everyone else was complaining about. The staff couldn't have been more friendly (especially Eddie Murphy and Husain). The team on the beach that sold you excursions were friendly and polite and didn’t pester you if you said you weren’t interested. we booked quad biking, camel riding and Para sailing with Deezer he was very polite and friendly and made sure you enjoyed the activity he said he liked everyone to have a good time whilst they was in Egypt. I would recommend the quad biking to anyone. There were shops directly outside the hotel for souvenirs or a big supermarket for anything you might need. The animation team was good they got you to play water polo, beach volley etc. The food was very good considering it was all inclusive and they have to cater for so many people. I would go back there tomorrow if I could

Hi, Just back from Oriental Resort in Sharm. Hotel was good not quite our 5 star but clean and spacious rooms. Food got bit samey the2nd week but not been to an allinclusive that hasnt. There was always something to be found, and it was always well cooked.
People are lovely and go out of the way to make you welcome. I stayed around Nabq bay and found the shopkeepers didnt hassle you too much, but friends went to Na'ama Bay and said it was a nightmare.
Make sure you go to Ras Mohammad the snokelin and diving is fantastic just like swimming in a massive aquarium full of massive tropical fish. We saw sting rays and manta rays as well as the nemo's etc. Book your boat trips with Aqua Nabq on the beach of the hotel costs about £20.00 for the day, stops 3 times for snorkling and you get a decent lunch and all soft drinks. Well worth the money, the reps are charging about £50.00 for same trip withonly 2 stops. Look out for Mohammad Ali, great guy works for Aqua Nabq so book through him.
The only thing to spoil the holiday was the delhi belly. Got Antinol (about 50p) which worked for me but my parter needed stronger tabs. Go to chemist just past the metro supermaket (out of hotel and turn left).
Not great deal to do at nights hotel entertainment more for the kids. Micky Dees just up the road and nice chinese restuarant. Good pub just opened called 3 crowns (opposite Grand Tropicana Azure hotel) 10 min walk. Its an English pub and has karoke.
Have a great time when you to and say hi to Zac the waiter for me.

Just returned from a week at the Oriental and i have to say the negative reviews were correct . In our first set of adjoining rooms we had a leak from one of the sinks, after both children had slipped and four days of maintainance trying to fix it we were moved to what can only be described as the orientals best kept secret !! A brand new wing with its own pool . The only people in said wing were egyptians and other unfortunate brits who had problems with their old room - one couple i spoke to had had the ceiling fall in !!! I have to say the Hotel General manger was very good in seeing that we were looked after , to be fair he was probably sick of us complaining but the rest of the staff apart from one in the restaurant were very arrogant and most unhelpful. Not at all what we are used to in Egypt. Moving on to the food !! Two out of four of our party had the dreaded egyptian tummy and it wasnt down to not being careful what we ate which incidentally wasnt a lot , thank goodness there is a kfc accross the road, all four of us lost weight last week . If you want a proper coffee - not included a milkshake - not included and the list goes on and on , suffice to say this was our third visit to egypt and will be our last . If you want a really good hotel where they really look after you try the Interplaza, we stayed there last October and it was brill, that was why we decided to go back this year, big mistake we couldnt wait to get home !!!!!
