Aug 2007, Mrs R Harmer

Excellent hotel and excellent location, 2 mins walk to 2nd beach, 15 mins walk into Dolphin Square. Staff and waiters very friendly and make you very welcome. Basic rooms but very clean and cleaners come in every day and very friendly. Both pools are excellent. Pool Bars have a good choice of food.

Aug 2007, Mrs M L Johnson

We found the Atac hotel clean and basic with everything we needed. The two pools were clean and there were plenty of sunbeds available.
The rooms were cleaned everyday and were small but adequate for our use.
The staff were polite and very friendly and really wanted you to have a great holiday.
The resort was also everything we had hoped for and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fairly lively resort, with plenty to do, but without the noisy element you get in very big resorts.

We have been going to Altinkum for 16...

May 2007, Mrs S Davis

We have been going to Altinkum for 16 years with the exception of 1 year we tried Marmaris although very nice, we soon went back to dear old Altinkum.
Having stayed at various places the Atac (as it is pronounced) came up trumps again. At one time the staff were quite rude, but now having fresh faces it is such a pleasure to stay at this very warm friendly hotel with Altikan bar and restaraunt manager /Serkan (simon) on reception and Micheal at the pool bar these will keep you amused till the early hours .
We can’t wait to go back in September.
Altinkum itself is quiet compared to some resorts, yet still has plenty to do. Like nice restaurants and good bars for a great sing-along during the day.
You have the choice of three beaches to get your tan but do be aware the sun is very hot even on a windy day, as I found out to my dismay this year, when I got heat stroke so plenty of a good factor cream, slow and easy produces a good tan.
Beach beds are new white slated with adjustable head rest but no mattresses and yet it seems pricey but if like me you don’t like to lay on the sand then it will cost you 3 ytl and 3.50 for a large brolly, another option is to buy a lilos.
Queens head/buzz bar and panorama are the beach bars now the royal has closed but I believe a new posh fish bar is going to replace it. Although it’s annoying you still get touted to go in the bars especially when you want to go into dolphin square, but a firm no keeps them away just don’t get caught when they try to get you by asking you to answer just one question.
Dolphin Square and its surround are full of places to eat or drink or shop. Saturday is market day at yunisia - watch your bag keep it zipped with the zip at the front temptation is to much for the odd one or two.
Day trips though full days are great see. Ephesus or Pamukkale, Soke market Wednesday and Dalyan to cover yourself in mud and dry in the sun.
You will find it hard to cram in all you can in two weeks so you will want to go back time after time.
Now back to the Attac, give it a try you won’t regret it. Meet Altican and have the time of your life. Even if you are staying at another hotel pop in for a drink at the pool bar but be prepared for a long stay you won’t want to leave.
I will be back in September for two weeks and am going to try their nearly new apartments they showed me round one, and it looks just what I want so maybe I will see you there.
Have fun in the sun happy holidays to one and all.
One last point it is cheaper to book with tour shops than tour reps at your hotel and tipping is the norm for the cleaners who do a great job.
Dolmus (mini bus) is cheap and so are taxis but ask at taxi rank how much to wherever you are going before you get in the car.

Apr 2007, Mrs M Bowman

These apartments are ok if you don't mind your luggage being moved when you are out.
The showers are salt water and the staff can only speak English when it suits them.
The tables at the pool area were never cleaned in the two weeks we were there.
Some of the staff were extremely rude.
Been going to Altinkum for 16 years and these are definitely the worst apartments we have stayed in.

Oct 2006, Miss Laura Smith

I went to turkey with my friend and her family, I think it's amazing. All the staff in Atac hotel are really nice and the lift even has a mirror in it. The cleaner does a really good job and you should tip her when leaving Atac.
I would recommend the British pub to anyone, I think it's a really nice place to go and all the men get up and dance, in the British pub they also have a karaoke, sky TV, swings for kids, pool table and ping pong. I think a good place to eat is buzz bar and that's just around the corner from Atac hotel across from the royal. The airport is quite far away though I think it's about a two hour drive but that's Bodrum.
Me and my friend really enjoyed it and would have stayed there if we could but we had to come back. I would recommend a boat trip on the ilki 2, it's a really nice boat. I would stay away from the pino bar as I went to a Turkish reception and it was at the pinio bar and the music or the karaoke wouldn't work so we had to go somewhere else.
The town is nice, but stay away from the take away from the fast food stops because they gave me cold beans on jacket potato. That's all I can say really but it's a really nice place.

Fantastic holiday, all the staff are...

Aug 2006, Miss L Burke

Fantastic holiday, all the staff are brilliant and had no problems with anyone.
The breakfasts are fine but they do serve tomato soup as it is what they eat in turkey-don't worry though as they also serve other things such a bread toast boiled eggs and full english breakfast if you want it.
The reception staff were fantastic and so were the barmen.
The rooms are basic but they are clean and comfy- the cleaners do there job well and you should tip them before you leave along with the bar staff and the receptionists.
I had an amazing time while I was in Altinkum and would recommend it to anyone.
One place I would say to visit whilst you are there is the queens head music hall which is just along the beach form the Ataç hotel. The staff there are really friendly and if you have any problems they will be happy to help you. They serve a wide selection of food which was affordable and delicious. They also provide entertainment in the form of dancing karaoke and sky tv.
As you will find with most places in Altinkum the staff on the door are always asking you to come into their restaurant and don't stop until you do and then once you have gone one night you are expected to stay there for the rest of your holiday.
This is exactly what the queens didn't do they just asked us once to come in. And when we wanted 2 go somewhere else they just said ok maybe come back tommorrow.
I cannot find a fault with anybody in altinkum or anything in Altinkum as i had the most amazing time while I was there and me and my sister were both in tears for ages after we left as we missed all the lovely people so much.
If you are considering going to Turkey then Altinkum is the place to go, the queens is the place to eat and the ataç is the place to stay!

I had read reports on the hotel Atac...

Jun 2006, Not Specified

I had read reports on the hotel Atac before going and thought it was just people being too picky and fussy. Well. Now I’ve experienced it for myself! Don’t get me wrong, I had a fantastic holiday. But! Some of the hotel staff are exactly as some previous guests described them.
The bar staff by the pool are great, couldn’t fault them, however, the manageress arghhhhhhhhhh. As soon as a problem came up, she suddenly couldn’t speak English? Pretty good for a hotel that caters for English tourists eh? I was leaving to go out 1 night and 1 of the reception staff asked me where I was going, I told him I was going out as I didn’t like his tone and thought it was none of his business, he then asked me how long I’d be and what time I’d be back. I told him "later" and he repeatedly asked me where and when until I’d had enough and just walked out.
I don’t eat breakfast but my kids were not impressed with the food at all. Who eats tomato soup for breakfast? the hotel is very basic, cleaners do a fantastic job but they can only do so much, hope you don’t like showers too much and if you do be prepared to have someone there holding the shower for you. Cleaners and bar staff definitely deserve a tip before you leave but like I said be prepared for the reception staff!
Altinkum? Fantastic!

What a holiday. The first thing that...

Jul 2005, Mrs K Ramsden

What a holiday. The first thing that strikes you is the friendliness of the staff. They cannot do enough for you. If you want to know where to go, how to get there ask them. The hotel is spotless as are the pools, which incidentally looked to be the biggest around the area. The Turkish night (Friday) is not to be missed, it brings the guests and the staff (who join in) all together and the food is excellent. The location is good, (virtually on the beach), but can be a little bit noisy, but close your window and switch on the air conditioning and sleeping is no problem. What with the temperature being 50c every day, we would definitely go back, and to the same hotel.
We would also recommend a boat trip on the “British boat” owned by the Welsh man...Taffy. He doesn’t over fill it unlike some of the other boats. Fantastic trip. Book it yourself at about 4.30pm in the harbour. Walking into town can be a bit of a culture shock for the first night or so, everybody wants you to eat at their place, but are not offended when you say no, and they always wish you well and hope you enjoy your evening.

We felt a bit shocked on arriving at...

Jul 2005, Mrs A Harvey

We felt a bit shocked on arriving at hotel! We felt like we’d been dumped on the doorstep. The reception staff spoke so quickly and before we knew it we were in our room!
The first week we were put off by the hassling outside bars and restaurants - but found the second week much more fun and knew how to handle the hastle. The hotel staff did question where we were eating but as we ate everyday at the poolside, had 2 evening meals at the hotel and took part in the Turkish Night - I think they couldn’t really argue.
We ended up on good terms with everyone - apart from Mr Atac - who is very odd! But in a quite amusing way.
Tony the barman is top notch. He amuses the kids, teaches you card tricks and chucks you in the pool when you look hot.
Taz the night security man is a great guy. You will meet him if you return at 5 am after clubbing!
The young waiters are friendly and cute (!) even Atilla - the short dumpy one.
We will be going back to this hotel next year and will book an apartment so we have a fridge to keep the bottled water cold.
The hotel is very clean, the cleaner we had was a darling - my girls kept her late most days as they slept till mid afternoon. She doubles up as the pancake maker on Turkish night - poor soul!
The beach is a stones throw away and is quite busy most of the time. Advice if staying at the pool - put your towels on the sunbeds at breakfast time or you will miss out.
The shops are close by - but far enough away from Dolphin Square to make you feel less claustrophobic.
The little minimarkets are handy for buying your newspapers, suncream, frozen water and ciggies.
Cant think what else to say except - We were very sad to leave.

Jun 2005, Miss R Bowen

My partner and I stayed at the Atac Hotel for 2 weeks recently. I have never stayed in such a friendly, welcoming hotel ever.
The staff bent over backwards to help and make the holiday as enjoyable as possible and nothing was too much trouble. We made several friends there. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and tidy and the staff very professional and caring. I enjoyed it so much i did not want to leave and would definitely go back.
The Turkish people made this the most enjoyable holiday we have ever had and i would definitely recommend the Atac hotel to anybody.

My Mum and me went to the Atac hotel...

Jun 2004, Miss S R Harnett

My Mum and me went to the Atac hotel this summer we had a really good time as all the staff were very helpful and always happy to help.
They hold a Turkish night on a Friday were all the staff join in it really brings everyone together and much closer! I would recommend this to any one! The rooms are big enough and always kept clean!
Me and my Mum enjoyed so much we are going back to Altinkum and staying in the Atac in the end of July!
Altinkum as a whole is very good! The only problem with Turkey as a whole is the men and the hassle they give to females! But if you respond in a friendly manor you will be ok!
Stay away from the Queens Head as once you go there they expect you to go every day!
I honestly do recommend the Atac its the only place I have been back to a 2nd time!

I had a fantastic holiday but was...

Jun 2004, Mrs H Thomas

I had a fantastic holiday but was spoilt by the staff in the hotel Atac, The first week of my holiday I spent round the pool during the day (only spending a little money) as I ate out every night due to the food in the hotel not being to the standard as it was elsewhere.
I cashed all my travellers cheques in the hotel, not realising that the staff were obviously noting that we did not spend any at the hotel. On the second week we noticed the staff walking up and down the front seeing where everyone was only to report back to you the next day exactly where you had been. (I was not the only one to notice this).
As a result there was only around 3 staff that actually spoke to my husband and me by the end of the holiday. (one of those were the night staff)
Even though the rooms were nice and big I would not recommend any one, at least a group of girls to the Atac hotel, and will not be returning even though I am going back to Altinkum in September.
