Excellent - did not want to come home
from sarahrxx
My friends and I were transferred here from another disastrous hotel called the crystal hotel. When we arrived at the Isis hotel we were mesmirised. The hotel rooms were out of this world and the hotel itself was gorgeous. The food changed daily and was very delicious - catered for all tastes. The hotel had its own beach with watersports. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. I will definitely be going back again very soon
Was I in a diferent hotel to the complainers?
from leanjean
I read the comments and was a bit worrried, however I can't think of a single thing I could complain about. I travelled alone and I found everyone to be helpful and friendly. Yes the hill is steep, but generally I made use of the free bus although I did walk up a few times (and I've had 2 heart attacks) Go for it! you wont be disappointed!
Fantastic Hotel For Those Who Can Appreciate It
from BeanyBeagle
My friend and I were transferred to this hotel having initially had a nightmare start to our holiday so my prior knowledge of the trip advisor reviews relating to this hotel filled me with trepidation despite being told it had a wow factor. Wow does not do this place justice! It is amazing!! Our room had to large single beds small sitting area and fabulous balcony with uninterrupted view over the bay. The carpet was a little tired and stained but hey I wasn't sleeping there and the bed was very clean and very comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and bed changed at least once that I can remember! Our room was not the finest in the hotel but we were delighted with it. I dont say this as a criticism only as a suggestion that if you want a leather suite in your room and plasma telly go for the nest room rate up and you will find it again with sea facing balcony. these rooms can be up steep steps though so be warned, I preferred the laziness of the lift especially as I didnt want to watch Turkish TV on a plasma it still wouldn't help me understand it and I was too busy having a great time to do so anyway. Food was out of this world it was a buffet style but you actually felt that you were in a top class restaurant as the waiters cleared the tables as soon as you had finished each close and kept a close eye on your glass to see if you needed a refill and yes this is an all inclusive resort too so they did not try to prevent you making the most of it in fact they encouraged you! The downside to the food were the moaners whose idea of haute cuisine is pie beans and chips! If this is yours do not stay here. The food has got a wide array of clientele and caters for every palate but not for the pub grub connosieurs! On saying that peope who like this type of thing are caterered for with the endless burgers and chips during the day and chicken and chips available at night. The facilities were amazing the pool great size deep enough for swimming but never too deep unless of course you are under 5ft tall! There was a ringed off area of sea that they tried hard to keep sanitised despite some selfish boat owners best efforts to pollute it and it was a joy to walk into finding soft sand under foot esecially good if you are not a strong swimmer and need to know you can put your feet down yet not get it snared on a rock or sea urchin. I didn't make it too the spa which is amazing and the treatments were very affordable 35euro for a 60min sultans massage treatment. Guess I will need to go back for that! the spa area is a real find and would be a great place to go while the kids are at the kids club that I was assured by other guests was also excellent. The animation team were a great bunch, their show was ok not the best I have ever seen but they put it on with great eagerness to please and really didn't need to as their friendly attitude throughout the day was a delight. The courtesy coach ran regulary into Bodrum and back, by law it was not allowed to stop in Gumbet but taxis there were only about 10 euro which you could easily recoup depending on how good a haggler you were in the shops! It is an all inclusive resort and unlike most was a 24hour all inclusive one hence the reason I probably never did make the spa. Overall fantastic place for everyone the clientele as I said was mixed but never did one particular country reinge supreme even depite the FA Cup being on one day and a special celebration of a Turkish National Day being arranged. Everyone got on well and it was a pleasure to have stayed here. Excellent staff, excellent restaurant manager excellent resort.
Pleasant Surprise after reading negative reviews
from tiredmumHampshire
I never normally write these sorts of things but after reading the other reviews prior to going on our holiday to Club Isis, Bodrum I really felt the resort deserved an updated review. We went on this holiday with zero expectations and had the most wonderful holiday. The resort itself in April was like an unfurling flower at the very beginning of its season, but this is perhaps the perfect time to go when resort is realtively quiet and the sun isn't too fierce, although a glorious 75 degrees approx. The hotel isn't perhaps the 5* everyone would expect but that is my only critisism. The room we shared with our 2 small children was huge and very conveniently located. The food was plentiful and delicious. The free drink was flowing and the beer particularly good. The staff were helpful and charming and were fantastic with our children. The sea and out door pool were cold but the sun was hot and we enjoyed both and for the wimps the indoor pool was heated and warm enough for our kids to play in for hours. A real treat was the free Turkish bath where we had great water fights with the kids (not designed for that but brilliantly appointed!) and the price of the spa treatments were really good value. All in all, unless you are a very miserable and negative person I do not see how you could possibly not have a wonderful holiday at Club Isis. In addition they run a free shuttle bus into Bodrum 4 times a day so there is lots of shopping and sight seeing if all else fails.
A terrible experience
from Herid
I stayed one week at Isis Club hotel and had the worst time ever . It was my fourth time being in Turkey and the first time at this hotel. I have stayed in other five stars hotels before and have had a wonderful time but Isis really dissapointed me and my fiancé. I don't know what to begin with, because this experience was so appalling that I regretted every minute spent there. I’m not going to include any other element because I read the other opinions and I think they are detailed and very helpful. My fiancé and I truly like Turkey and beside the experience in the hotel every thing else went really good. Gumbet and Bodrum center were wonderful places to visit especially at night because the atmosphere was so pleasurable and the people were friendly all the time.
A Week in Isis.
from Steven455travels
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Isis. We booked this holiday 3 days before flying out and got a pretty good deal - which was a good job, as we would have been very disappointed if we had paid full price. The hotel rated it self as 5 star complex but in reality I struggled to rate it more than a 3 star. The front entrance and lobby was what you expected from a 5 star but that was where it ended. We checked the trip advisor prior to booking and accepted most of the negative views as a one off occasion - wish we hadn't. Just one thing - the hill going out of the hotel - BOY that is not a hill - it is a mountain and is over a 45 degree incline. You need hiking boots, a couple of pick-axes and ambulance waiting for you when you get to the top. The only advice I could give to anyone is get a taxi. Rooms -The room we got was very poor - (something you expected from a 2-3 star accommodation) - The highlight of the room was a wall mounted TV with satellite but no English channels (pointless having it). The balcony looked at more balconies to the left, right and front and had black melted tar from the roof dripping on it. The room it self was very small and of a poor finish - the shower wouldn't stay up so would flood the bathroom. Child facilities - The child club was run by the animation team who struggled with the English language. We never did find the children’s playground that was advertised. Pool side - The Pool was great but very slippery on the foot. The kids pool was a small bit of the main pool cut off (and boy it was small) We stayed a week and never got a poolside lounger as you had to be up about 6am to get one and most people had 2 or 3 so they could follow the sun around the pool (Don't you love it when people play fair) (This was never monitored by staff and it seemed if you got up early enough you could have as many as you wanted). Food - Lot's of it but most of it you didn't know what it was. The main restaurant was like a feeding farm as when the gates opened people ran (yes ran) to get a table and there food. If you were late you had to wait for a table and then the challenge of getting it cleared was a joke. If you have children this Hotel is not for you as the kids menu consisted of chips, chips and more chips and that were it - there wasn't a kid’s selection and my child had to live on chips and fruit all week. The plates and cutlery was dirty and you spent the first five minutes trying to find a plate that didn't have food still stuck to it. Entertainment - Well - the entertainment in the hotel was a complete joke. The animation team ran all the entertainment day and night. The day entertainment had a lot going on which was good. The night entertainment was poor consisted of a kid’s disco which lasted 30 minutes and played the same songs in the same order ever night. After the disco the animation team would put a show on - this was dreadful and also lasted about 30 minutes max (good job it did). Most of the time they would act out scripts that they had made up. You felt your self laughing some times because it was so bad. It was unplanned and something you expected from a school play. After this was finished - if you lasted that long there was an adult disco every night in the Blue White Bar which was mainly geared up for young teenager or people in there early 20's. The area would only hold about 20 people max and that was mainly local residents who lived in the hotel. That was it apart from getting drunk on there watered down beer. Overall - We enjoyed getting away for a week and pleased that this wasn't a main holiday. The hotel was clean and the staff was pleasant. There were a lot of safety issues for small children which surprised me as this was a 5 star. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families.
great hotel
from littledevil
I stayed at the hotel isis with my boyfriend in july 2006. i had a great time in turkey and i loved the hotel. i read the reviews on here before i booked it and decided to go even thought there were some complaints. ok the hotel is at the bottom of a steep hill but if u read in holiday brochurs, internet etc about the hotel it does tell u this so people shudnt go if they didnt lik the sound of this instead of complainin about it. the staff at reception can b a bit funny with u at times but the bar staff n waiters n the lady at guest relations r all really nice n friendly. if u say hello to them then they will talk to. its also nice if u learn a few turkish words like hello and good morning, thank you etc as they will appriciate this. after all u cant complain about their english if u make no effort to speak their language. some people said that the 4* isnt very nice well thats what i stayed in n it was lovely. it wasnt cold dark damp or smelly. it had nice beds. it was clean. the towels are changed everyday along with the bed bein made. the air conditioning was fine also. the food was lovely, i thought there was a lot of choice and it was all fresh. there are cats n birds that u might spot but thats not the hotels fault. and it didnt bother me at all. there are a lot of drinks and on our first day i wasnt sure what to have so the barman just made me a drink. not sure what it was but it was lovely. there is water which is free. its ot tap water is from bottles so safe to drink. the ice cubes r also made from bottled water. there is also a chinese and italian and fish a la carte resturant which u have to book to go to. they were nice also but prob wont suit every1s taste. the hotel is in a great location it is located close enough to the main area of gumbet but far enough away for u not to be disturbed by the noise etc. its right next to the sea and there are plenty of areas to sunbathe and chill out which is great. there are bars right next to the sea and pool so its not far to go for a drink. i think whether or not u will like the hotel depends on what u want from a hotel and what u are used to. turkey is a great place to visit and im really glad i stayed at the isis. i would go back again. if you have any questions or want to know anything about the hotel or the area then feel free to email me: littledevil15_88@hotmail.com

This hol was the best. great surrondings and freindly staff. i dont understand why people dislike it???!!! the pool and beach area was great with always activities going on. i loved it there was always something to do, for examle water gym, water polo, spa. the spa was amazing with the steam room and showers pool, gym and much more free. i would highly recomend to have a turkish bath in the hotels spa its fab for your skin. there is a water sports center at the far end of the privet beach, which is really fun. all moterised sports were to be payed for but were cheap, but pedalos, and canoes were free!! and fun. oh and there was this really random guy who took pics of u while enjoying your hols. he took lots of me and then i orded them he gives u gr8 prices 4 them and they a great to take home! food was excellent!***** there is loads of salads etc with themed nights once a week. example italian night. diet buffets were there and pleanty of tasty turkish food, or burger and chips at the pool bar. you could also go to the italian ala carte restaurante or fish restaurante. u have to make a reservation but its still free! overall a wicked hol and pefect for any body!
A Nightmare!

Thankfully, our overall experience in Turkey was fabulous! Unfortunately, this was nearly spoiled by our experience at Isis Hotel. We arrived late in the evening to find that our room had not been used since last season at best! We were greeted by dead bugs, mould, no hot water and the overwhelming smell of mildew. Reluctantly, the unfriendly night staff moved us to a "new" room. Unfortunately, this one was worse but they were unwilling to do much until the next day. To add insult to injury, we were awoken at 6AM by the sound of stone & marble rubble being deposited at our door step (not once but 3 times!). The next day we were asked to wait until the day manager was available to speak with us. This took several hours, at which time we were told that we would be moved to a third club room, likely as dissmal as the last two! The management and staff were unwilling to listen to our concerns and treated us like we were simply making a scene. To our good fortune (in his unwillingness to address our concerns and avoid the situation) the manager called the tourism agency we had booked with. Our luck had turned! as this patient and understanding agent acknowledged our complaints, recognized the problem and rebooked us into another hotel (which was Heaven!). To further our sense of validation, this booking agent felt he could no longer work with Isis, as he had had similar problems in the past. Our advice, DON'T GO! You couldn't pay us enough! Isis aside, Turkey is still a gem in our eyes.
5 Star Facilities 3/4 Star Rooms
from Silverstar68
Just came back from 1 week at the Club Hotel Isis. The holiday company i booked with stated that this is a 5 star hotel which is not entirely correct. The hotel facilities maybe 5 star but the club rooms are no better then many 3 star hotels I upgraded to the rooms in the main building which are much nicer (about 4 star i would say) and most have balconies with stunning views out over the bay definitely worth the extra. There is a steep hill leading to the hotel which is stated but this we didnt really see as a problem as the hotel has a courtesy bus leaving at 9.15am and every hour thereafter till 9.15pm. We did walk it up once & had no problems but that was in the evening when it was much cooler. Hotel Isis is an all inclusive hotel i.e inclusive of all food & drinks & as stated in other reviews the variety of food maybe good but i do not think this is the best of quality the fruit juices are nothing more then flavoured water, the wine tasted like vinegar. On a couple of occasions towards the end of our stay we ate out in a "locals" restuarant in Bodrum and you can instantly notice the difference in food quality. But i guess you get what you pay for & next time i will stick to bed & breakfast. I came down with diarrhoea on the second day (which i suspect was a result of eating the hotel food) that was followed by severe stomach pain the next morning which resulted in calling the hotel medical centre (doesn't belong to the hotel) who took me to their clinic and provided a very thorough and excellent treatment (far better service then the NHS) and charged the costs directly to my insurance company. There are two A la Carte restuarants in the hotel where guests are allowed one night in each but I would say dont waste your time in there as the food again is only average and the portions & choices very limited. The hotel staff generally are efficient at dealing with any problems or matters you may have but apart from one or two are unfriendly certainly not a service with a smile! Overall I would say Hotel Isis is a lovely hotel in a lovely setting (away from the noise and bustle of either Gumbet or Bodrum and has excellent facilities (pool, bathing, access to sea, spa, watersports etc) but this all inclusive business is not for me and I would rather stay on B&B basis and then have the choice of dining options & therefore would not return to this hotel.
