Venezia 2000 Hotel

I stayed her in Oct 07 with my girlfriend for two nights. For me. The location of Lido was excellent. Away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Venice and Piazza St Marco. Its a ten minute walk to the water bus and then another ten mins by water bus to the main centre of Venice. The rooms were lovely and clean, it looks like the hotel has had a recent refurbishment. After reading the previous reviews we were slightly apprehensive about this Hotel, only to be pleasantly suprised. I felt that my review would sum up the great stay we had. We stayed at this hotel in September. It was a 20 minute walk from the ferry so loction was ideal! it was quiet and pleasant. The service was very good when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by pleasant, welcoming and helpful staff. Room 302 was our bedroom and it was excellent. Have recently returned from a 5-night stay. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the Vaparetto where there is a very regular service into Venice (the Number 1 travels all the way up the Grand Canal), and the trip to San Marco took just over 10 minutes. The Hotel itself provided very good value for money - our room was well furnished (probably recently refurbished), quiet, comfortable, and spotlessly clean; in addition the hotel is just across a quiet road from the beach. This hotel is on the Lido island across from Venice. We stayed two nights. We had a triple room, it was spacious with new furnishings. The bathroom was very large and modern. It is across a quiet street from the beach. If you don't mind walking to the ferry (about a 15 min. walk) or taking the bus to the ferry, it is a nice and quiet place to stay. My family and I recently visited Venice and stayed for several nights at the Venezia 2000. The hotel has undergone recent rennovations, and is quite nice. The location, too, is convenient. My only beef is with the service. Two anecdotes should suffice. On arrival we called the hotel from the ferry stop asking how best to get there. We were told a particlular bus. Unfortunately, the B bus leaves in two different directions from two different stops. We took the wrong one resulting in a half-hour fiasco with my wife, three children and... more

10-15 minutes walk to the Vaporetto, where you can catch a boat to mainland Venice. It takes 8 mins to the Giardini, a bit longer for San Marco. So it's not a bad way to do Venice - boats run all night and it's a lot more peaceful on the Lido. The room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Mini-bar prices were very reasonable, as was internet access (but it's not wireless). Staff were helpful. Breakfast was pretty nasty - stale bread and tinned fruit etc... Would recommend for business and a cheap and cheerful week away.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 nights and I had no problems. It was a quiet place, very close to the beach ( wonderful beach in Lido ), night receptionist very very helpful.In the first day the bus route to and from hotel was confusing.You have to ask before which bus B goes to the hotel. There are 2 lines. But it's very easy to reach the vaporetto station. 2 min. The hotel was clean and the room was made every day. We stayed at this hotel in April 2001 for our honeymoon after getting a generous wedding gift and making a lastminute booking. The hotel is on the other side of the island from the ferry. The room was dark green and musty smelling with some sort of weird carpet. The bed was a put up one that could be put into a wardrobe turning the room into a studio so consequently was very uncomfortable and unromantic. The balcony was filthy and overshadowed. We stayed at this hotel in July. It's in a great spot if you want to spend alot of time at the beach. The view from our room was great, but that's the nicest thing I can say about this hotel. It's on the other side of the island from the ferry. The room was dark green and musty smelling with some sort of indoor/outdoor carpeting. The air conditioner barely worked and throughout Europe, I've never seen a bathroom so small. No seperate shower stall so you're standing right next to the toilet. This hotel is situated on the island of Lido which you can travel to by waterboat or watertaxi from the main centre of Venice. The hotel is perfectly located near the beach. The only down side of this hotel for me was that it was about a 10-15 minute walk from the main connection point to the centre of venice. The staff were polite and the rooftop jacuzzi was lovely. The rooms were fine, although the dark green decor did nothing for the room, it made it look dark and cold. I probably wouldn't visit this hotel again but it's a nice... more
