San Moise Hotel

My daughter booked a twin room,on arrival it was set up as a double. While we went to dinner, the staff re arranged to our satisfaction. The room was very small,but heaps of character---typically Venetian lamps and mirrors. The floor parquetry was a bit tricky,as some opened up with movement,but it all added to the character! This was not nice. Rooms are ugly and small. You have to go outside into and ugly ally-way to get to the breakfast room. Would'nt stay there again.

Stayed in the San Moise for two nights in July. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is tucked away down a side street just 5 mins form St Mark's square and also 5 mins form the vaporetto stop so easy to find. One afternoon after a days sightseeing we were able to sit and rest our feet outside the hotel and watch the Gondolas go by. Rooms are nice and clean and breakfast was good. All in all a great hotel, I would recommed it to friends and family and would stay there on a return trip to Venice. Its a gem!!

In short, we had a great stay at San Moise. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Venice (just 5 min. from San Marco square). The staff was very friendly and helpful in providing tips for restaurants, sites and even a street map. The standard double room was rather small, but clean. Thanks for great service!!

Had a great short break - everything about the hotel, the room and the location gave a real Venice experience. A great atmosphere and feel. Gianluca & staff knew how and when to help - and when to let you get on with it. No-one has any excuses for leaving the hotel hungry after breakfast - and transport/sights are minutes away. Everything we wanted was available in the room - but can't say many waking hours were spent there. There's too much else to do and see on the hotel doorstep.

The San Moise has everything going for it!!! Excellent location, wonderful, helpful, courteous staff and UNIQUE rooms. It also has huge gorgeous Murano glass chandeliers (which add to the charm of the 17th century building), great food, and a lovely courtyard. The prices are incredibly low and Luca and others dedicate themselves to making sure your stay is comfortable. Even the prices in the minibar are very low!! I cannot recommend this site highly enough. It doesn't have an elevator which is probably the only reason it isn't a 4 star... more

We stayed at the hotel May 5, 2003 for two nights. It is located only minutes from Piazza San Marco and on the backside of a major shopping street. We got an excellent deal on the room, which was very clean and adequate in size. The bathroom was nice and clean. The staff was very helpful. We arrived after 9pm and the staff called a nearby restaurant for us. The restaurant manager greeted us and stayed late to serve us. Breakfast was very nice.

We visited Venice in November and had made reservations at another hotel but that fell through and we ended up at the San Moise. We had a huge beautiful room, very adequate for 4 people. Full bathroom with hairdryer. We did not have a view of the canal but that was not important to us, we did have a view of the courtyard area. Breakfast was the usual self serve european style and had a few extras, The hotel was in a great location near san marco square, plenty of shopping and easy access to the grand canal water taxi/bus system. Originally given a room so small there was no place to set & open my suitcasethey gave us a 2nd room that was a bit bigger & after seeing the 1st one we were extremely happy with it. The room had a view of the canal as well, which made it a little more interesting. Requested a bathtub; what we were given was too small to stretch out in the tiniest bit. (Still not sure if it was a tub or shower basin) The service and staff were friendly and helpful. A good friend of mine and I stayed in the San Moise. We had confirmed two beds, but were given a room with only one bed. They offered to move us to another room, but it was so small (even by European standards) that we said no. The bathroom was modern, clean and very nice. Some of the people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Others were decidedly not, so service was hit or miss. The hotel is in a great location, but I would probably not stay here again.
