Hotel Plaza is fantastic. It is located right opposite of the Mestre train station, where you can take the train to Venice Central Station (Canal Grande – vaporetto stop Ferrovia). Train ticket costs 1 € one way and there is a train every 5-10 minutes. The journey takes 8-10 minutes and the view from train’s windows is incredible as the train passes over the bridges to reach Venice.
We arrive on hotel at 10:00 a.m. and they check-in us immediately! We left our car in their guarded parking and we pay less than 10 € per night! Our room was very clean and spacious, with A/C, TV, mini bar, stationery and safe-deposit. Every night there was chocolates on our pillows!!! Breakfast was very rich and delicious so probably you don’t need lunch.
Overall this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed, in a reasonable price and it’s highly recommended for everybody.

Great Location and a great price.
If you’re looking to do Venice at a reasonable cost, yet still be close to all the action then this is the hotel for you.
I'd read a number of reviews of this hotel and had a fair amount of confidence in it. The train pulled into the station I knew I'd made the right decision. No more than 20 metres from the station was the hotel.
Booked in with an attempt at Italian, but the reception guys just switched straight into perfect English. We had booked with GTA hotels and it was great no hassle at all and we were in the room within minutes of getting off the train.
The rooms were nice and spacious with a nice bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The TV had about three English channels (CNN, Eurosport, and Sky Movies) this was fine, as we didn't want to be in our room much with the wonders of Venice to see.
The room also had a mini bar at great prices and the restaurant was also remarkably cheap considering where we are.
When we left the hotel we stopped at reception who gave us a map and a load of good advice about what to do, they tried to Sell us some trips from there, but weren't pushy at all and did it very subtly. To be fair I think the trip on the Gondola they offered was a good price.
Other than the train station there is not much around the hotel, there are a couple of supermarkets and a couple of Chinese restaurants So enough to get by if you’re stuck at the hotel for a night.
The travel into Venice was great, trains left about every six minutes and ran till midnight so it was fine for getting to and fro, the cost of the train was only two Euros.
All in all nice hotel, great location, and good break.
