Not a standard type of hotel as our room and the breakfast room were accessed directly from the canal side through a charming patio and not via the hotel reception. The room was very dark on entry as the shutters were closed but revealed itself to be of a good size and standard although fairly simple.
The only downside was the freezing air conditioning which we could only regulate by switching it off altogether. Breakfast was excellent with fresh bread, croissants, eggs, ham, cheese etc plus plenty of fresh fruit. Location of the hotel was also excellent - near to all the main sights but quiet.
Remember to take the address of the hotel with you when you go out. We only had the name and it took us over 2 hours to find it again when we went out on the first day!
