We've just returned from Benalmadena. What a cracking hotel and resort. The food in the hotel offered different specials every night and the salad bar couldn't have been better. There was always a good choice of desserts, including three types of icecream to self serve. We found the staff lovely and efficient. Our room was clean and well serviced everyday. The entertainment catered for different tastes - we enjoyed the flamenco night but other things were on offer on other evenings. Always bingo - not our sort of thing - but at least it was to some people's liking.Don't believe the walk to the beach area should be called Cardiac hill - it was not that bad and the beach area is well served with cafes, restaurants and quiet areas as well. We will be returning to the hotel in the future.

Just come back from a 10 day stay at this hotel unfortunately only managed to stay there for 3 nights the food was always cold and not a very large selection, no entertainment at night. The cardiac hill was a lot steeper than we were told by our travel agents as I am an oap i found this very hard work u need to be fit, well and under 50. I had to change hotels which cost more and ended up spoiling my holiday, wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone.

My daughter (age 14) and I have just returned home after a fantastic AI, 2 weeks at Hotel Bali, Benalmadena. This being our 8th time at this hotel. We arrived there at 10.45pm and were shattered, the reception staff were very welcoming and efficient. We booked in and were given our key, not for the room we requested, but we did have a lovely room with a pool/sea view. It was lovely seeing familiar staff faces, who also recognised us. Our room had a tv and hair dryer, it was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The restaurant was kept very clean, there was always a wide variety of food, breakfast had something for everyone, cereal, smoked and unsmoked bacon, sausage, fried, boiled and scrambled egg, beans, toms, crossants, cold meat, cheese, yogurts, fruit, and toast. Lunch and Tea also had a wide variety and was very nice. Bar staff were always very friendly and efficient, they were rushed off their feet, but we still had service with a smile. AI drinks were very good. Best of all was the Med Playa Amination Team, this team is the best in the whole of Costa Del Sol, they made our holiday, the day time activites were great and plentyful, but the evening entertainment was very professional, it started at 8.30pm with the kids disco, till 9.30pm then it was bingo, then 10pm the shows started with Mama Mia, Grease, Dirty Dancing and Michael Jackson, they also had audience participation nights, Western and Hawaii nights, we also had a parrot, reptile and bird show. The entertainment then continued till 1am inside with a disco or kareoki. I was a bit disappointed with the AI in the "Sunny View Cafe" by the middle pool (this hotel has 3 pools) it opened at 11am - 6pm but you couldn't get food from here inbetween 12.30 - 3pm on the AI, only if you were paying for it, chips wasn't on the AI at all, you could have toasted sandwiches, hotdogs or burgers. Come on Hotel Bali, we Brits like our chips...... The life guard at the middle pool was very good, he spoke very good english and was very friendly. He was lovely. The hotel is on cardiac hill and anyone with walking difficulties would have problems getting out and about without a taxi. We went to Paloma Park, where the guinia pigs and rabbits run freely around your feet, every Wednesday morning if you walk to the top end of the park there is a market/flea market which is great if you like bartering, I had some great bargains. The promonade has got to be one of the best on the Costa, tho there are a lot of steps down to it, it leads to millionaires marina, this is a site you must see, shops, bars, restaurants, big boats and marvelous appartments, where the boats are moured, there are massive Koi Carp, take some bread and feed them, the kids and adult alike will love it.There is also a water park, midnight fair, cable cars, 24 hour square, where the night clubs are and bonanza square where you can have food and a drink and many more attractions in Benalmadena, we dont go to them now because of returning to this hotel many times. We travelled with Thomson, we made friends with the reps, even tho we didn't need them, they were a great team. Overall this holiday is the best we have had and we will definatley be returning again next year.

Just got back from a weeks all inclusive, to be fair the food is excellent. Not a lot else is though and worst of all is the so called entertainment which is totally awful. The leader of the entertainment crew does not know what he is doing and speaks so fast that no one can understand him. While I was there they put on shows such as momma mia, dirty dancing and a Michael Jackson tribute. Momma Mia was awful the dancing and putting together of the show is totally awful, dirty dancing the same. Then the Jacko tribute they said it was to resemble the life of Jacko??? According to them he was born about the age of 30 was never in the Jacksonn 5 and best of all could not sing a note because he does not in there history of Jacko. Oh yes and he was also very fat according to them. So what is the point of all inclusive if you have to sit there and be bored out of your brains by this garbage.
The day time so called entertainment was no better playing very simple games they could not get people interested and did not know how to play them. The hotel does some sort of scheme with local schools and let lots of children parties stay but no one controls the kids and they seem to just run riot. Kbocking your drinks over and running up and down in the corridors while you are trying to sleep shouting and swearing. No one attempts to stop them. It is also the rule to allow gangs of youths to swim in the pool at 2 or 3 in the morning again shouting and swearing.
If this sounds like what you want then fine go to Hotel Bali if not you have been warned.

One week all inclusive. Good clean hotel in a central location. Room was comfortable and cleaned daily. Service at bars etc. first class. Food in restaurant was exceptional, cannot praise enough. Mind you lots of Spanish in hotel the week we were there so food choice aimed at them ; suited us though cos we love it. Only problem was pool was cold so only had a swim once. Transfers from airport were spot on. Will surely come again. The park and lake is fabulous with lots of animals and birds to see, went there each day. Hired bikes at the port and had an explore . Booked via Travel Republic who are great.

Like most of the other reviews, I found the hotel good and also like most of the other guests who were there when I was, I am not a spring chicken. therefore, the constant battle every day with Cardiac Hill was a bit of a problem to say the least. Other than that, I can recommend Benalmadena.

Holiday at Hotel 7th to 14th November 2010 for the 4th year on the trot on half board basis. 7 of us in our party aged 60 to 77. This is a good basic hotel with most rooms having pool and sea views. It is clean and the food is good.Hotel is centrally located up a short but fairly steep hill. All of our party made the climb easily. There is a goog local bus service both ways along the coast for visits to Malaga, Tremolinos, Fuingerola and Maralla and also a good train service along the coast from Malaga to Fuengerola with a station in Benamadena. The beaches in the area are all excellent. There are numerous bars and restaurants alon the promenade and local area.
Next door to the hotel is a lovely small bar 'Lizzies Lounge' run by the very friendly Liz and Brian Rogers who make you very welcome abd have a good sense of humour. More importantly they serve good measures at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit or two and a nice place stop for last orders.

Just returned from a week at this hotel. The food was terrible, cold and didn't look at all appetising. The breakfast was the best meal of the day. We are not finicky eaters, but found it difficult to enjoy any meal. We were both ill and thought the all inclusive offer that we paid for was not at all good value for money. There are lots of bars around the area which do food at very cheap prices. The main entertainment area was very cold at night and the beer was so gassy we couldn't drink it, if we wanted the other beer we had to pay.
The hill is very steep so if you are not 100% fit it can be a real problem.
The good points are the bedrooms are warm and clean and the resort is lovely.
We will definitely visit this resort again, but never stay at this hotel.
