Just come back after possibly the best two week holiday we have had. There is a lot of refurbishment work going on at the moment so don't expect a lie - in. Food was okay, as we expected, a lot of the meat and veg turned up in different guises the next day and so on, the food in the pool bar was excellent and real good value for money also. Drink prices in the hotel are slightly high but the local bars are all relitively cheap, if you have children with i can recommend Chrissies ( halfway down cardiac hill on the righthand side nextdoor to the pickwick), Buzby's (bottom of the hill, turn right 10 metres, excellent entertainment) and also El Elfentes (turn left as you come out the hotel, follow the road round on the right about 150 metres, also excellent enterteainment but does'nt start til late.)
All in all a brilliant place, excellent holiday and lovely friendly people, will definetly be going back.

We enjoyed 5 nights self catering in a studio in the Bali in March. The studio was very spacious with plenty of storage space. One gripe is that they do not routinely clean the studios during your stay. You can request this at a cost of 9 Euros. Another is that the bathroom was looking a little tired and worn.
The hotel is a reasonable basic 3 star. We did not eat here or watch any entertainment. The happy hour in the bar on Tues, Thurs & Sat gets very busy! We never had a problem getting a sunbed around the pool.
Benalmadena itself is a huge resort of contrasts. If you are self catering it is worth heading up to Bonanza Square to the MAS supermarket. Otherwise, for us, Bonanza Square was a bit shabby.
The Marina is beautiful with loads of bars & places to eat. There are some really good two for one offers on drinks at this time of year!
Overall, we enjoyed ur stay at the Bali & Benalmadena.

We are 2 16 year old lads we feel that hotel bali is the best hotel in the world. Everything about it was perfection especially the entertainers lauh for her good looks and a good laugh, rowina for having without a doubt the best personality ever to have graced this wonderfull earth and then victor what a guy!!!!! (tacadac). When we where there soapstars jack and vera duckworth where there with there grandkids nice people. We reccomend this holiday more than any holiday in the world. Love james and chris. xxxxxxxx

The hotel is very clean, maids cleaned our room daily and the staff are very very friendly. The pool and gardens were clean and attrctive.
During our trip, the hotel was 95% occupied by the 50+ age group so was still very quiet and no fights for the sunbeds!
Hotel food was bland - choice of 3 or 4 main courses & they had different menus - however, it rarely tasted as it sounded but again, it was fresh & hot. Lack of choice on the salad front.
Breakfast was the usual fried choice and a lovely continental choice - they could however have used some of the meats etc for the salad bar at night to give a better choice.
Excellent Chinese in the square as well as an Italian and El Carmen. All those restaurants had fantastic food, excellent service & a reasonable price list.
Finally, yes there is a big hill outside! Watch out at the bottom for the timeshare mob who loiter there - normally the morning after a busload have arrived!!! Simply refuse their "scratch cards" and walkaway.
Would we go back? For a quiet break - yes, for a fun-filled holiday-no - but it was early season. For a relaxing time, you couldn’t do any better and there are plenty of resturanys and bars in the resort

Have visited the Bali hotel previously 2 years ago and decided to book over xmas and new year. My husband and i and 16 year old daughter all loved the Bali. rooms were spacious.
the food was EXCELLENT -christmas dinner and new years eve gala meal included in the price. Even got a FREE bottle of champagne for new year.
The weather was good (only 2 days of rain out of 12) and we came home with a nice tan.
Staff all pleasant.
we didn't watch any entertainment so i can't comment about that.
CHESTERS with gill and roger down cardiac hill and turn right - well owrth a visit. Good lunches/snacks etx all chap.
Don't forget Terri Fox - the drag artist.
Booked a the Bali again for easter - would not hesitate to recommend

The hotel was very clean, the food was great, my only problem was, maybe I was being paro, but I thought the staff wasn't friendly towards ethnic minority people. They wasn't rude but looking how they smile at other people and how they was cold to us it was well notice-able and another couple mention this to me as well. Even when we were getting our lunch/breakfast we felt the looks. Spoke to other people who had visited the same hotel and they felt the same way. They won't put me off, I would go every year to the same hotel if I had the money.

We had booked Half board but were put in an apartment rather than a room which was a real bonus as we had use of fridge etc. Also they are very spacious with a mezzanine floor, huge wardrobe and plenty of storage space. The maid came every day to clean and change towels.
The location is OK. "Cardiac Hill" was not a problem but probably not great for buggy users or less fit people. Beach in Benalmadena a bit non-descript and scruffy. Marina very nice for window shopping and people watching.
Also went to the Crocodile Park (good value for money) and cable car (not such good value but wonderful views - do take a picnic with you though unless you want to take out a bank loan for the cafe food there!).
We tended to use taxis which the hotel reception will book for you. They are all a fixed price agreed in advance so you won't get ripped off and for a family of 4 works out the same or less than the bus.
We found all the hotel staff very pleasant. The Animacion (entertainments) crew worked extremely hard and lots of people took part in the mini-golf, darts etc. In fact my children enjoyed this more than the Thomson Kid zone activities.
My 5 year old only went to Kid zone once as the children were shouted at and he was too frightened to go back. Quite a few other parents had the same experience and comments from their children - I can only think it was the end of the season and the novelty was wearing off for the staff!
Two pools (non heated) but never any problem getting a sunbed. The food was variable. I found it OK but tended to stick to salads (good salad bar), pasta etc. Bread rolls stale and there was the usual scenario of meat turning up in different disguises on 2 or 3 consecutive nights.
My husband (big meat fan) thought the food was poor and would not return to the hotel for that reason.
The evening entertainment was generally good, really enjoyed the hypnotist show.
All in all had a lovely holiday - it was October half term but only one day of rain and 6 of glorious sunshine.

Excellent Resort. Excellent Hotel. 2 Swimming pools. Smoking room for smokers.

Drawback to this lovely Hotel is not where it is located, but how it is located, its uphill of the main drag and the hill is a killer, local bar calls it Cardiac Hill. Located at the bottom of this hill is a bus stop. Most destinations and attractions can be got to from this stop.
Gibraltar is only an hour’s travel away. English beers are also available at most of the bars in Benalmadena. Bar Bonanza is located higher up Cardiac Hill and is a nightclub/bar with live shows every night, Brilliant entertainment.
A must to see is a drag act by a Mr Terry Hall, Hilarious. All in all I would give my holiday in Benalmadena 10/10.

My brother and girlfriend and my boyfriend and I spent 1 week there last year and it was absolutely brilliant!! 4 young adults managed the slope easily, yet most people of average health should find it no problem.
The staff were brilliant, the food good and the rooms lovely and clean!! The area was very nice and clean, the bars along the front were very nice, the only problem we found was choosing one to go in!!
One thing the area lacked was tourist shops, however a short bus ride took us to a little shopping centre which was perfect!
Would have no reservations about going back we all loved it!!

Two week stay and older than most of the residents, but didn't feel it. Food good, rooms clean, fresh towels every day, everyone very polite. Dining room staff very attentive always got a table right away, bar staff very pleasant and not long to wait before being served.
I have never seen entertainment staff so dedicated, with so much energy, and so professional, thinking of new things all the time, they never seemed to go home.
A good part of Spain to go to, lots to see and places to go.
As you walk into the reception at the Bali you feel the holiday atmosphere.
The hill wasn't too bad; it gets rid of the weight you’re putting on eating all that food.
Didn't know before we went that there were two pools, both having guards and first aid.

Another fabulous stay at the Bali Hotel. This is my fourth stay in the last 12 months.
Excellent hotel, staff very friendly, food choice is excellent. Entertainment was very good, the kids were entertained which counts for a lot when you’re on a family holiday.
The rooms are basic but extremely clean. My family and I will definitely be returning for many years to come.

Have never been to Spain and this holiday was booked 5 days before travelling.
The venue was chosen to fit in with time off work. Got a great deal and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the whole hotel.
The restaurant was run with military precision, the food was varied and I have to say better than a 4* in Cyprus supposedly renowned for its cuisine. All Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Children were well catered for by an enthusiastic team supplied by Thomsons and the Hotel.
We being 60+ found it quite noisy at night in spite of the signs asking people to be considerate of others and it is situated on a rather steep hill.
Benalmadena is a lovely area and we will certainly return.

The Bali Hotel is absolutely fabulous, could not fault it at all. The rooms were clean and cleaned on a daily basis. If you want clean towels daily you just leave them on the floor in bathroom and the maid leaves new fresh ones for you. The bed linen was always clean and the bed linen changed quiet often, sometimes daily sometimes every 2 days.
Rooms are basic, but always clean and at the end of the day you only need somewhere to change and sleep, not like your spending time in your room a whole lot.
Fabulous Air Conditioning in all rooms, if it gets a bit chilly and you want heating on then you can also adjust it to your liking.
The Med Playa Entertainment Team are fabulous, out of this world. You so have to stay and what the shows they put on...just amazing and so funny.
Go see Victor he is the Head of the entertainment team, so lovely couldn’t do enough for you. The team makes a fuss of the kids and try to get them to join in with the activates, as well as the adults. I did part take in a few activities on my 12 night stay. including Men V Women....which the Women won...go us women. Mini Disco for the kids every night of the week from 8:30 till 9:15 sometimes 9:30pm. Dancing, games and much more.
The food is amazing, freshly prepared and something for everyone, all buffet style. The chef comes out and does daily specials and cooks the meat etc on the grill in front of you, smells amazing and tastes even better.
The pool was always clean, there are also lifeguards on duty at all times to make sure your safe. Lovely lads they are too will have a bit chat to you and they joke around with the kids...the Spanish are so lovely with kids.
Definitely booking up again to go to the Bali, it has to be the best holiday I have had since my early teens....well worth taking the kids.
You will have one of your best ever holidays going here. I have been going to Benalmedena for about 12 years now and will always go back to the Hotel Bali.

The Room At The Hotel Were Very Nice With Loads Of Space, And Air Con Which Always Helped. Only Comment No Coat Hangers.. So Take Some!
The Hotel Itself Was Very Nice.. The Food Was Lovely... My Sister Being As Fussy As She Is Even Liked It!
The Staff At The Hotel Were Always Nice And Friendly. They Always Kept My Sister Amused With Either Day Activites By The Pool Or In The Evenings. They Also Done Daily Bingo For My Mum ;)
The Hotel Is A Few Yards From The Beach Which Was Very Nice.
The Only Problem Is The Huge Hill.. Would Suggest You Dont Go There If You Find It Hard To Climb:P
However Due To How Much We Liked It.. We Are Returning This Year In July For 2Weeks!
